My kastking reels crapped out on me, these videos helped me with deciding to get a slx dc. Saw some good deals on ebay so i got a used 150hg for $148 after tax and new 71hg for $177 after tax
JDM has a smaller lighter spool. It will outcast the US a bit with lighter baits like used in this video. The heavier the bait gets, the more similar the distances are. Also, keep in mind that the handle on the JDM is shorter. I have both and prefer the US. That longer handle makes a huge difference with the higher gear ratio versions when fighting bigger fish. JDM holds a bit more line too. Cool video 👍

If you want to estimate the length of your cast, you can count how much handle turn you make to reel your whole casted line and you multiply it by the ratio (cm/turn) of your reel. It can give you a quite precise distance pretty easily :)
Hello, I am a subscriber almost since the channel was created, and today I made some tests that I would reccomend you to do too. The normal thougth is that the best brake settings is: minimal mecanical brake, or even no mecanical brake and control only with the centrifugal/magnetic brake. But I today tested on my 2020 Metanium a new breake setting, I used to only use the silent tune and leave the mecanical brake off and 2 internal brakes on and put on 4. Today I put the centrifugal braked with 1 internal brake and 2 on the external dial, and used the mechanical brake to just dont let the lure falling fast, and I noticed a significant increase in the casting distance, so when you have time to test do it, and let me know what you think about this type of brake setting because for me was a mind blowing change of the casting distance!
Hey, can you please recommend me. I need a bait casting reel with a shallow spool so i don't need to put like 350m of 0.07 braid or even lower braid. I was thinking of Shimano aldebaran, but is there any other? Btw I'm fishing with lures 1-4 grams average. Thanks and keep going.
Inconclusive test. You should have expected that to happen since you washed out the lube by sending it for a swim. Also, Shimano told told me that the tune is the same in both, with the only difference being that the JDM version is quieter because the Japanese market does not want to hear the zzzzziiiinnnnggggg, but the U.S. market does.
You can completely get rid of the play but when he says minimize play I’m pretty sure he means the least amount of wiggle with it still being able to drop the lure when you press the thumb bar
Hi from UK, great channel been a follower for long time , after watching your review on the fish band g h 100 reel I am about to order from China could you advise me on a suitable rod ,I fish small medium rivers for trout , chub grayling , I fish mainly spinners 2 to 6 gram any advise would be welcome many thanks

Had to stop watching because of the kkkkuuwwff sounds hahaha
wkwkwk
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️😤
Blow off valve
ngl, i laughed at your accident in the beginning. but only because i thought "look! i'm not the only one!!!"
Same here! 😂
@@Voxguitarsrock vox makes guitars? i had no idea. i've had their amps, didn't even know they made guitars
@@cheezyridr yes indeed they do. My fav guitar since 1980 is my Vox standard model 24. Fabulous guitar.
Bro I love everything you do you are one amazing person with reviews
Bro with the weird noise after every cast, what are you holding your breath?
im still eagerly waiting for aldebaran 51 + yumeya bfs spool
huhuhhu
The JDM reel was more controlled throughout the test so if I’m buying one or the other I’m going with the JDM version.

@@MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS does the spool of both reel interchangeable?
@@GS-vg7jp good question. They look a bit different but that might not matter. Sorry. Wish I could help.
but the JDM slx dc e fell into the water, it will have an advantage in the distance
Fill the spool all the way up on the JDM reel and you will get a longer cast as well! JDM reel for sure is a winner.

i love the word at the beginning
You should try again with a JDM that didn't go for a swim.

Let’s hack the DC reels to put longer casting mode 😂. Great vid brother.
Waiting for the rest of this series ...
Should have dunked the us slx before testing the side by side.
Agreed lol
Not sure if I missed it but did you ever get to try the Lews team pro sp on casting, skipping and pitching regular lures .. seen you test it as a BFS
No doubt the water may ahve conditioned/ lubricated things. My lures always go farther with wet line and a wet line guide.

Do you know is the spools are interchangeable between the American and Japan version?
Tell me you like DC's, without telling me you like DC's.

do you know if the JDM SLX DC 70 have the exact same brake modes as the US version SLX DC?
idk if shimano dc reel have software update 🙂
Can JDM reel fit US spool? since US reel got bigger space than jdm

Is the JDM hype substantiated or is it just cosmetics?
Were can I get it?
Thank you

sounds the same imo
When you say minimize side to side play does that mean eliminate or still barely moving?

Do it on land that way you can mark the distance
Is it just me, or do the DC reels not sit as low in the reel seat as other low profile Shimano reels?
I have one and I haven't noticed that
@@rockymountaintrout2689 Ok must just be how they look on that camera angle, I don’t own one myself.
So when is the slx 300 coming out 🤔😂
Is the shimano curado mgl made in Malaysia?

Can dc throw 2,3 or 4g lure? Anyone?
Just trying to figure out the whole bible thing, on a baitcaist reel review.🤷
You know anything about the shimano bay game 300pg reels looking to order one of a jdm website but they don’t give much information about them
