@@new6409 Yes, Zyad guy is probably one of them. They are smart now that they are commenting on YT videos with exactly same thing. Super weird behavior by Egyptians.
Too many pushy scammers and touts. Very stressful even through watching your video. So different compared to Malaysia where you can go anywhere and explore as you pleased without being hassled by aggressive locals. Very off-putting for tourists.
Malaysia is a fantastic place to travel to, very few scammers just a lot of people very (rightfully) proud of their very beautiful country and willing to show it to you. My favourite travel destination, Malaysia is magnificent, so different to Egypt which has magnificent history, but scammers everywhere making it very difficult to travel in hassle free - everything everywhere is hard because of the scammer people.
This is interesting. I loved the Malaysian people. They’re so warm and friendly, but I also encountered my fair share of hassle there. Outside my hotel in Kota Kinabalu (Borneo) there was a pimp lurking in the alleys that would send small children to constantly harass us. They would follow for up to half an hour, constantly yanking on our arms, begging for money. It was very sad because they were clearly being exploited, but were also a damn nuisance! I love Malaysia though and hope I can go back one day!!
This is a good example of how to deal with people. I tried multiple methods…ignoring, swearing, engaging, saying no, then ignoring. The best way is like this guy, say no, keep walking, repeat no, and don’t engage too much and be friendly. Never accept free gifts, don’t hand your phone or camera over , don’t give anyone your ticket if asked for it in the enclosure. Also the tourism police are near the great pyramid and just mentioning them helps. You look Egyptian, do you want a camel ride, cart ride, where are you from, I work for the government, why don’t you want a camel ride, do you know the price, here take this it’s free, do you want a taxi, here is the shop..come in. I take you to panoramic view.
Amazing Pyramids !!! Seven wonders of the world!! Abit intimidating with the constant haggling to concentrate on the sights!! But do sympathise with the folks trying to make a living especially now with the downturn in tourism!! They have to feed their families and camels and horses ! Think I will definitely need a Paracetamol at the end of the day!!
Definitely true about the Paracetamol. Those guys are always there, crisis or not. They chose this kind of work which is not a bad pay normally as lots of tourists fall for it. I would not give them too much credit... but yes, they are part of it and maybe there will be an end to it soon, or maybe later...
All this chaos and scammers will change next year when the Grand Egyptian Museum and new structure/rules for visiting the pyramids area are implemented. Visitors of such unique place should return to their countries with good experience, not memories about scammers..I know they are trying to make a living and I admire their linguistic talents but still, an annoying person is an annoying person no matter what..
Do you know when it will change exactly? I visited hurghada and luxor 2 weeks ago and it was exactly the same as in this video. Literally everyone wants to scam you.
Just came back yesterday after 10 days in Egypt. Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. It hasn’t changed. I am mentally exhausted from all of the scamming and hustling. Beautiful country but it is utterly exhausting and leaves a horrible impression.
I just got back from Egypt and the scamming takes an emotional toll on you as it never ends. I dont reccomend going to Egypt as the corruption is beyond anything I have ever seen
Even after all the harassment and hassle with scammers I'm glad I visited Egypt. It was definitely an experience! I would suggest that anyone with patience and stamina should go just because you'll never forget having been to places like Cairo, Giza, the pyramids, the Sphinx, the Nile, Luxor and the Valley of the Kings, etc. You could go to a resort and just stay there but what would be the point? There's sun, sea and sand all around the world. I detested these annoying scammers when I was there, but as time passes I'm seeing it more as a life experience.
So, when I went last year, luckily I didn't get scammed because I was prepared....but you were WAYYY nicer than I was lol I didn't play or mince words. Well done!
Things haven't changed since the mid 80's. I was in the military and stopped there. I swore back then that I would never step foot in that country again. The scammers ruined the visit. Loved the sites but the scammers just made it the worse trip.
I have seen the most worst scammer in UA-cam video in Egypt 🇪🇬 but you handle it like a pro like you were there before, but visit Egypt 🇪🇬 is a nightmare.
I am Egyptian, but this happens to me too, i hate this kind of scammers, government need to develop this area more. I say you can just visit pyramids once in your life, and that's enough
Excellent Video, Been there many times and more, I walked off with my free gift lol he chased me, I said you said free LOL. Camel rides are 80-100 EGP for 1 hr,,, no more.. when the guy told me 350, I laughed and told him, look at my U Tube, others camel owners said 80EGP and no tip or food crap for poor camel? he told me OK 80EGP, I said if you had said that first I would have gone with you! I think most of them are realizing that u tube is exposing them and they told me no filming, I told him to fuck off and I will film what I want and said I will go over and talk to the tourist police, he ran off like a scared rabbit.
I am in Egypt now Everyone tries to scam you here. We were even ripped off by the customs guys with the visa right when we got off the plane! I guess you can't blame them though. Poverty here is pretty intense coupled with inflation.
Hi from South Australia. Loved watching this walk about. Did you know that the Great Pyramid has actually 8 sides not 4..? It's an incredible creation.. Take care. C. 🌹
Great video. I like the way it is made, as if I am there, unlike the touristy slick varnished videos. I can almost feel the sand, the desert, the expanse, the scale, the rough & tough terrain, & real Egyptians even tho some are quite persistent in pushing whatever they are selling. Great job!
I remember one time when I was 17 touring Giza Pyramid, a camel owner asked persistently to ride a short tour on his pet. He didn't tell me how much the fare for once until I already mounting and bumping my butt on the big camel hump. He asked me a sum of USD50, I only have USD2 in my pocket.. the camel he held by the lace already passed 100 meters from the starting point. Realising this is a scam scheme, I immediately jumped off the back of the camel and beep beep roadrunner into our bus that was parked at the foot of Khufu Pyramid. One lesson the tourist should learn is to ask for fare first. Hope you arrive safely in Lahore..take care safe journey
Well, of course it is a great thing to take a ride. But you as an Egyptian will get a better price anyway because they know that you know what this should cost I would suppose 😀
Just hilarious experience.. Very well done Moonshine...reminds me of my first time in Egypt 15 years ago. I was offered a camel ride starting at 100 LE, was able to drop it to 10 LE.
I've become addicted to watching all videos showing the scammers at tge pyramids. It would be so amazing to see but not at having to put up with those people. Not to mention the heat and dealing with the heat and those scammers I'd want to immediately go home and regret being there. Doesn't look like fun. Sad
Yeah but actually these guys are pussies, if you act a little aggressive they back down. I just talked to them as I wanted to show the people how it is there.
I was planning to go to Egypt, bu t i don't like to stress out when i'm on vacation, so i guess i gonna choose something less stressy. like in other 'poor' countries they see a tourists as bags of money and as easy prey...i had similar experiences in Indonesia, but not so aggressive and pushy as in Egypt. Great video, helped me a lot making up my mind.
I was planning to go to giza on my own but after seeing this im not so sure anymore... maybe arrange something with a guide. Thank you for showing this
Still here in Egypt for a tour....yah, so true about every move a dollar! I was picking up random rocks at one of the temples. A "guard" saw me and picked up a couple of stones to give me, but asked a dollar. Yah no! I just picked up 5 on my own🙄

cheers mate, appreciated
Too many pushy scammers and touts. Very stressful even through watching your video. So different compared to Malaysia where you can go anywhere and explore as you pleased without being hassled by aggressive locals. Very off-putting for tourists.
Yes, very much so. I hope they will find a solution to this problem. Very annoying.
🌜....Hey you're back... Good to see you again...You just miss a pot of gold near the foot of the pyramids..🌛.....🇲🇾
I know I did 😃. I went back at night and now I have all that gold, I am so happy. I am going to buy a house made all of gold.
Going to enjoy watching your video soon when I make a cuppa. Thank you for posting it up. X
You’re welcome 😊
Watching it now brilliant! 👏
Of course I'm happy to see you.....in UA-cam😁😅
Cheers Mate🍻👍✌️
Thanks a bunch, I like to hear that 👍👍👍👍😀😀😀, cheers
I had the same experience at Angkor Wat, but I regret letting it ruin my trip. It sucks that scammers ruin the experience... Stay strong man!
Thank you, yes. Yes, Angkor has its fair share of touts too
@@yvesthesleeve Are Egyptian touts more aggressive than Vietnamese touts in your opinion?
@@CastorRabbit Angkor is in Cambodia, not in Vietnam.
@@lytranle944 I'm not talking about Angkor, I'm talking about the worst scamming touts in the world. To me, Vietnam beats Egypt.
It is as you say
The hellooooo with the selfie cracked me up lmaoo
Very nice vlog of Pyramid - just loved it!
So glad!
Don’t talk to them or make eye contact, they won't leave you alone if you appear too friendly and nice to them. Just ignore them and keep walking.
Sure thing, if I am not filming I just tell to go to hell 😃.
Very nicely put 👍
Seems more like a systemic cultural issue
Do you know when it will change exactly? I visited hurghada and luxor 2 weeks ago and it was exactly the same as in this video. Literally everyone wants to scam you.
It's a year later and any updates
Just came back yesterday after 10 days in Egypt. Cairo, Aswan and Luxor. It hasn’t changed. I am mentally exhausted from all of the scamming and hustling. Beautiful country but it is utterly exhausting and leaves a horrible impression.
I just got back from Egypt and the scamming takes an emotional toll on you as it never ends. I dont reccomend going to Egypt as the corruption is beyond anything I have ever seen
Yes tourist spots are no fun there
I like your spirt and sense of humor although your were swamped by annoying scammers .I don't have that patience you had lol
Haha, I usually do not talk to these guys but for the video...
You are doing a great service to tourists…Egypt is incredible, but if you go there without doing some research then you will lose your patience fast.
agreed
I believe you did a great job and you using your personality in humor was great.
Well spoken, I agree
I pity those who don't know the in and out Egypt. This video helps others .
I am glad
Thanks for this video. Good to talk about this. They'll take anything from any tourist.
Absolutely!
Wow you the first UA-camr beat scammers , YOU HAPPY IM HAPPY 😄 😂 🤣 😆 😄
😀😀😀😀 I eat them for breakfast
So, when I went last year, luckily I didn't get scammed because I was prepared....but you were WAYYY nicer than I was lol I didn't play or mince words. Well done!
Well, I try to be nice when I make a video with people. Normally I would not talk to these guys too much.
@@yvesthesleeve you were truly amazing
Facts
I swear i loved the way you treat these guys
Things haven't changed since the mid 80's. I was in the military and stopped there. I swore back then that I would never step foot in that country again. The scammers ruined the visit. Loved the sites but the scammers just made it the worse trip.
Oh wow I can imagine that
Great view of pyramids but those touts were pesky..
Yes they are
I have seen the most worst scammer in UA-cam video in Egypt 🇪🇬 but you handle it like a pro like you were there before, but visit Egypt 🇪🇬 is a nightmare.
I have visited before but I am used to a lot of scammers all over, Egypt is the worst when it comes to this
lesson learnt, just ignore all these scammers !
yeah, normally I do but I wanted to make a video
man i hope i can be like this guy when i get older. happy about life, positive attitude and very youthful.
Heavens am I regarded as an older person already??? I gotta apply more sun tan lotion.
This is amazing.. Thanks for bringing me to see pyramids 🤗.. Wish I could go there one day.. 💟

Yeah they are all talk but no action
I am in Egypt now Everyone tries to scam you here. We were even ripped off by the customs guys with the visa right when we got off the plane! I guess you can't blame them though. Poverty here is pretty intense coupled with inflation.
Well, but you have to protect yourself, crime is never an option and corruption is the worst thing ever
Hi from South Australia.

well, there are also good things about Egypt, but in tourist places it is bad
Annoying when people keep pushing like that... if me i dont like.. 😅😅😅
Yes, absolutely off putting
I have found the outstretching the arm with the hand right at his face direction...works wonders.
Great video. I like the way it is made, as if I am there, unlike the touristy slick varnished videos. I can almost feel the sand, the desert, the expanse, the scale, the rough & tough terrain, & real Egyptians even tho some are quite persistent in pushing whatever they are selling.
Great job!
Thank you very much!
Three words you never want to here in Egypt or India: “ Hello my friend!” 😂😂😂
True story
Happened the same to me and my friends when we travelled to Marocco, what a pity!
Yes it is
I remember one time when I was 17 touring Giza Pyramid, a camel owner asked persistently to ride a short tour on his pet.
This is amazing. I fell for the rides and I am an Egyptian. I chose the convenient than the haggle
Well, of course it is a great thing to take a ride. But you as an Egyptian will get a better price anyway because they know that you know what this should cost I would suppose 😀
😂
Thanks for this video n thanks for your day exploration, visit to d pyramids in Egypt.
very welcome 👍

Cheers mate
