Bands like 200 Stab Wounds and Gatecreeper are restoring my faith in modern metal. Got to see both of them live a few weeks ago. Both bands are hard AF.
They are breathing some much needed life back into death metal. In my opinion, death metal was getting over produced and stale. These lads are easily some of the best modern metal musicians

Ludwig Acrolite. He's using a Galaxy B/W badge from the '80s, but the silver finish and grey paint B/O badges sound just as good. You used to be able to pick one up for $50, but now the word is out and prices are creeping closer to the $200 - 300 range.
Wouldn’t call this caveman at all lol it’s pretty musical melodic and structured compared to other bands out there. Kinda early cannibal corpse worshippy. Still a fantastic band though.

Honestly I love it when death metal and hardcore mixes. Not deathcore wise but the music style of death metal, fast brutal sledgehammer styled aggression, with hardcore stage presence and moments. One thing I will always give punk and hardcore is the stage presence is fuckin unmatched
Frozen soul did a tour with Sanguisugaboog vomit foruth and I was talking with the guitarist for Sanguisugaboog and he was saying how 200 was gonna be on that line up but they ended up getting booked for another that would of been the show of a life time if that happened show was fucking amazing either way tho great lineup.
I was lucky enough to catch them together in Texas at Wrecking Ball Metal Madness. Sanguisugabogg, Devourment, and tons of other great bands were there as well.
Thank you for posting this! Made my recent paper reviewing a concert I went to much easier. Something about my professor, a Dr. in Musicology, watching this video and reading my paper just made me all warm and fuzzy inside.
The difference between hardcore kids and metalheads when it comes to moshing always makes me laugh. If the band speeds up, metalheads would start the circle pit, if the band slows down then that’s when hardcore kids start 2 steppin.
I’ve never understand the wild arm swinging. I mean why? I’ve been in mosh pits many years ago and never have I seen that. I’ve seen all kinds of bands from Slayer to Deicide and everything in between and the moshing was why you went to a show. We’ve always just kinda ran around and pushed whoever was in front of us. That’s a mosh pit! Not this bullshit swinging your arms around. Kids today. Lol
@@BeastCake1349 That style of moshing from what I understand came from the NY Hardcore scene of the 90’s and 2000’s. Also Hardcore originally had a more punk sound but ever since the 2000’s it’s shifted more into a Metal influenced sound. So with that I think it just started to mix the crowds up more and more over the years. Awhile back I actually went to a Hardcore festival and it had pretty balanced mixed crowd from every scene of extreme music there.

Death metal and hardcore have had a symbiotic relationship since thd early 90s. Suffocation has straight up breakdowns. Madball toured frequently with obituary and thzt likely evolved the heaviness of breakdowns within the hardcore scene
Just saw these guys last night in BK. The drummer was probably one of the best I've heard. So much stamina and power behind the kit. 200 Stab Wounds got the upcoming death metal scene on lock 🔥🤘
I had never heard of these guys, but last week I saw them open for Cattle Decapitation and Dark Funeral. These guys really made an impression even with two titans of metal playing after them, and I had to check out more of their stuff after the show. The beat change at 14:27 is so unexpected but so sick

I recently went to a local death metal touring show, and it was a great mix of metal heads and core kids, the pit was half hardcore mosh half slam pit, no fights, it was rad
So I'm a metalhead but a lot of us hang around the HC/punk scene too, its always a great time when we all get together and have a blast. We can all get in the pit and let out our stress. And then at the end of the show, we all go for some pizza or a burger. Its a community bond thats hard to break 🤘🤘🤘
