I don't have an above ground pool but it feels good to watch another man solve his problem, underestimating the project and having no idea what he's doing . It's the inspiration I need to never call professionals.
I truly appreciate your honesty. I can relate to underestimating a project and then having to face battles of getting to the finish line of the project. I’m currently trying to prevent or bypass the underestimating part with my moms pool and backyard
Not bad for your first attempt. If you're not completely happy with it just tear your pool down in the fall and re-level the ground next spring. No one builds these pools 100% level, and you can spend weeks trying to level the ground to no avail like I did last year. Plus everyone's situation is different, kudos for all the time you spent on it! If you're interested, what finally worked for me is after I placed the loose dirt down I took an 8 foot 2x4 and went in a full circle around the center, just pushing the dirt with the wood. After I did that several times (10 or more but I wanted to be sure), I finally felt the ground was leveling. After that I added some very fine play sand and leveled that in the exact same way. It also works for just dirt. Sand just gave me that smooth floor bottom I was looking for. You got a really nice model, I hope it serves you well for years to come. 😊
I just put my pool up and had a similar problem with the level. I rented a tiller and took out a bunch of dirt. It makes it really difficult when you don't have help. My wife came out and helped, but she kept wanting to level the ground differently. I had to explain to her that it's a process, which she couldn't understand. Well pool is up and looking good. I used some sand, fill dirt combo, and a 2x4 with a weight and bubble level to get the ground right. so far, so good.

Is this the same Sean Bratten from LTL?

Nice work!
Next time, dig down the high side. Enjoy your summer.

You're in so much trouble!!!
