- In response to requests for a video showing the internals of this upgraded machine. I'm working on a high-resolution video solution for this machine and will post another video when and if I get that working.
Wow, every possible upgrade packed into one machine! What a beast! 😎
This weekend I'm hoping to make progress on building the VOFA video card adapter. I doubt I'll be able to test it quite yet, but it is taking shape. When I have something new, I'll share.
Really appreciate you making this video, as I'm researching upgrades right now & there's always a need for more techie ST content on youtube.
I'm so glad someone else cares. Thank YOU.
@@Technoid_Mutant There's a dearth of techie ST content on yt, compared to Amiga stuff. It's really sad, but your excellent work subsequently redresses some of that imbalance. My love affair with the ST line spans decades & continues!
I would have killed for such a machine back in the day!
Beautiful machine, Jeff!
Respect is due. That is a stunning machine.
This guy has taken the 1040ST to TT030 level.
@@cathrynm Not having the bucks for a TT or Falcon, this was my answer-on-a-budget. I'd love the graphics and sound the Falcon can produce, but adding those functions is probably not possible. I am working on a VOFA video solution however.
Looking good Jeffrey!
My old Atari Ste 2mb i had a T28 accelerator board in it (68000 at 28mhz with some cache ram).
It's been a while... but where can I find the hard disk image you are using? I'd like to use it on the MiSTer FPGA. I used an Atari 1040STe for about 10+ years. I used to use Geneva/NeoDesk.
I would be interested in how much faster the vintage PAK030/FRAK030 setup would be, given it is also based on the 50MHz 68030, but with real 32 bit TT RAM.
I have that test stored I think. Gembench comes with several such tested configurations.
As an St user, I think this is now so fast and powerful that you might as well just turn on a PC.
I'd like to think so, but the truth is, even with all the souping-up, the machine is decidedly inferior to my cell-phone, by huge factors.
have you got any info on setting up the tf536 on the ST I can only find amiga stuff I have the gerbers I might get some PCB's made
PM me sometime. I'm on Atariage and on the Atari 8-bit and Atari ST facebook pages. The only difference between TF536 for Amiga and for Atari is a software update which requires a platform cable and some software to upload the .jed files to the TF536. The files you need to upload are in the file: tf536_2020_10_04_ATARI_alpha.zip. I use ISE Impact v 14.7(nt64) to actually upload the .jed files. Everything on the 536 will then serve fine for the Atari.
Hey Jeff could you please link to the drive image that you're using? I haven't seen it around on the forums. Cheers!

Who was the Amigan who thumbs-downed this video? Time to get the tar and feathers out.
Ah, XBoot. I had that on my Falcon.
Can it be called FrankenSTein ?
