This is the most innovative feature of all that Apple introduced today!
The "no signal" situation will be a thing of past. That is the point.
Yes! Several companies are working on this not just apple. Can't wait until it is available in all smartphone in all areas across the globe!
I agree
but free only for 2 years.
imagine, you get injured, but first, you have to set up subscription :)
@@topcomp1066 hopefully it will be the type of subscription that you can pay back afterwards, versus being stranded and dying because you didn't think you needed the subscription
if your in the mountains or on the water out 10 miles - check your phone there is not service outside of sat
This is going to be really great for those who hike a lot and take journeys far off the grid! I’m super happy Apple is doing this, it’s honestly crazy how far their products have come!
Just happened 4 weeks ago
😮
Yes apple! Taking a bigger bite into safety I see. Huge respect.
Wow! This is what you call innovation! I have to give Apple their props! Freakin’ genius!
You have to PAY for this service 🤦♂️ Life really is pay to win
2 years only free bro after that money matters…😵
I have some medical issues and like to fly fish in the back country. Seems like something worth upgrading for. I do wonder though how good it’s gonna work in the forest though if I can’t get through the trees
IPhone 14 can save lives of many people. Such a wonderful technology.
Best feature needed in every new phone coming out in 2023
How much will the subscription cost, after the free two years? Thank you.
This is life changing, just imagine how many people will be saved!
This is a great feature apple! This will save lives and it’s the next step to better emergency communication. W 👍
Very Very Good but you should do it with ios 15 or iphone 7 8 or below or above
Imagine how many movies where the characters are lost or in danger would’ve been cut short if they had this
This is incredible. Imagine the possibility of things we can do!
Awesome stuff Apple
Why don’t I have the test for my iPhone 14 pro max?!
What a great feature, love the new iPhone.
how i am going to see the video if im not with wifi or cellular signal
yea but only in USA, not other countries
They have a staff so it will cost money but how much. This is not the same as tmobile and starlink right?
Very nice feature I love that
Nice Video
Dear Apple, I am wondering why this feature is not available on iPhone models bought from China Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau? Does this function depend on eSIM chip?
What will be if battery low
Good man 😮😊😊
Once the 2 year beta/data collection is over, how much?
why just america and canada get this feature people in other countries will need this too ?
Absolutely amazing! I love how integrative apple is! ❤️ keep up the good luck!!
Work* sorry

I don't like iPhone emergency SOS
Best ever feature ❤️
Love from India 🇮🇳
brilliant ground breaking feature! thank you apple! 👍🏼😄
good to know
SOS iPhone 31
Looking forward to Apple solar charging
Wait, isn't T-Mobile removing dead zones using Starlink, bringing more reliability than Emergency SOS satellites? It's much faster and more reliable than Apple's intended satellite messages. Plus, it's included on T-Mobile plans, without any cost. But, I think that Apple's innovation feature is much more widespread and helpful for users with dead zones, especially SOS on land.
how about you actually deliver the pro max before you give us videos on how to use it
Nice
*cries in Turkey*
Starting 20th April 2069, the number is now 912
Interesting…
So, after 2 years, if I go hiking at night/ during unexpectedly bad weather and me or my friend breaks a leg or something, and I call for help, does it just say “Sorry your SOS subscription has expired, please upgrade for Apple Life+ to continue use”?
Definitely not. It will certainly be paid for on-demand and not at the very time of emergency
@@DimitrisSartzetakis I know that's probably how it works, but I was joking about how many subscription services apple has, hence "Apple Life+"
Apple will deliver iPhone 16 to you wherever you are at that point
Hold up it says free for two years are you seriously gonna have to pay for this after two years
bad for those that dont have enough money😢
Apple finally provide innovative feature again after Siri, paving the road for other companies to do the same.
This video will be less helpful without Wi-Fi or cellular signal
Ok
Wow, this will be such a cool feature, especially in rural Australia where coverage is terrible and 3G being shut down - further limiting coverage.
Why is 3G being shut down ?
@@tylerdoop To free bandwidth for 4G/5G, at least here in the UK is what they’re saying
@@tylerdoop For 5G
Yes. But available only in the USA and Canada for now...
@@serkurilen but in some years this will be available at another countries...
This is gonna help so many people. I knew someone who unfortunately passed away for losing his tracks in the mountain. It took a team of experts months to locate him and brought him back home. He did his best and made it just a couple hundred meters from the trail. Technology like this could prevent tragedies like his from happening again.
Sorry about your loss
This is a game changer in the smartphone industry. This instrument will be a life saver for a lot of people that work, live or goes into areas where cell services are not aviable. I usually go on trails between mountains where there's no connection at all, and having a smartphone with these capabilities would make me feel safer. It cost a lot but it gives you a lot! Good job Apple :)
Yea 😊🎉cctvdvr d😊🎉ordered 😢
I think this is a great feature to help people! Props to Apple for making stuff like this!
I’ve always been so paranoid about being disconnected ever since a relative died in an area without cellular reception. This backup option is going to bring me such peace of mind.
Im so excited to see how this technology can expand in the future. Hopefully innovations can be made where longer messages can be sent over a shorter period of time, or hopefully can be used in more dense areas. Amazing work
Two new iPhone 14 Pro, neither loaded with Emergency SOS Satellite feature...Apple Techs are befuddled!
Kind of disappointed that Apple isn't proactively deploying this in countries like mine that are situated in Southeast Asia where Tsunamis, Earthquakes, and Hurricanes/Typhoons happen frequently throughout the year. We NEED this and that's one of the reasons why we are all planning on upgrading to the iPhone 14 series.
We badly need this, we experience 16 typhoons every year, blackouts that last weeks, etc. please Apple, focus on Asian markets more...
This and car crash detection are helping people lives especially AT&T shutting off 3G and bmw having a fetish of using outdated technology for their cars
BUT THE GOLD QUESTION IS… WILL THIS ROLL OUT GLOBALLY?! 🙄😒 CUZ MY IPHONE 14 PRO MAX DOES NOT HAVE IT UNTIL NOW
This could have saved my childhood friend who went hiking and fell
Apple there is not a option in emergency sos for a demo on my iPhone 14 pro max and there is not a option to send my location through satellite on find my why is that?
After that what would the cost be?
Of course they won't answer that
Don’t worry about it yet. You still have two years once you get an iPhone 14.
Who cares how much it costs if it saves your life
The price of a new phone?
$9.99 or will come bundled with apple one service
So after the 2 free years, what is the pricing strategy? Would be nice if it was included in Apple One.
Thats exactly what I was thinking, I think it Will be included in Apple One since the idea of One is to have all of apple services with one subscription. My guess is that there’ll be a higher tier One subscription, and a standalone one that can be found in Settings>Emergency SOS
They just ruined a lot of future movies :D. Stranded on an island? Eh, just text someone.
THIS IS AWESOME & SHOULD BE ROLLED OUT,ACROSS ALL NETWORKS.
IT'S A LIFESAVER.
WELL DONE APPLE. ✌️😊
When it eventually comes to Australia this will be a game changer
Most people think the animals will kill you. Nope, most people die here getting lost in the outback and running out of food/water
This will save many lives
This is actually amazing and life-saving!
yeah yeah, movie "the fall" would end diffrent
this is unrelated, but the woman gives me alot of windows xp tour narrator vibes
I know
Hi apple support I have two quick questions about quick start:
Will my iPhone 7 be able to transfer all my photos and videos to an iPhone 14 pro even if they’re on different iOS versions?
Can I choose what I want to transfer with quick start or do I have to transfer everything?

We understand you have some questions regarding the Quick Start process. We’d like to help!

Bro what if the satellite says lol bye when it’s almost done sending 😭
“I can’t breath”
Apple: oh sorry no satellites available please walk outside and point to a satellite 😂 next one is available at 12-24 minute. ❤
I just bought a iPhone 14 Pro. It has a demo mode but it does not work.😢
wait a minute? its paid feature??? what if my legs are broken, i have to fricking pay?
Same exact thoughts. If someone subscription runs out & they’re about to die ………wow
Satellite connections are expensive. And paying to get help isn't it better than not being able to get help at all?
@@JT.00000 It will definitely be paid for on demand
Now we can finally climb the B67 tower😂
This is a life saver for example if you’ve had to make an emergency landing in water or land.
This feature is really cool, but the fact is that it’s only free for 2 years is just weird.
They have to pay GlobalStar with the satelite capabilities
Pretty much all two-way communication satellite (and most one-ways) require a subscription because it’s not a cheap service to provide and/or maintain. Compared to other devices, you are definitely getting a hefty discount for two years free.
She really said “iOS 16 dot 1” it’s “point 1”
Very neat. I’m interested to see it in action. Those ‘gaps in satellite coverage and prolonged response times’ plus having to continuously point in the correct direction kind of worries me. I also understand this is a free service for 2 years but don’t know why anyone should pay for it after that timeframe. It should be a free service as it could be life saving
Medical insurance is also life saving and yet you have to pay for it. A lot.
if you on the water boating and have a sos -today that takes a sat phone ( $350) and a annual subscription - I think this is a awesome feature for a whole lot less
Yes it would make sense, for the people, not the company. This is new tech, and is a collaboration between Apple and other companies, but since iPhone isn't really designed to be a satellite phone with that bulky antenna, it's probably super expensive to make and to run the service. If it's free forever, eventually, Apple's gonna run out of money to keep the service up, so it's understandable they'd want to charge for the service after 2 years. Besides, 2 years is generous.
this will be EPIC! but the fact it only supports the iphone 14 is kinda sad .-. because older iphones dont have satellite communicators
Dear Apple,
bring this function also to europe!
i really wonder how the EMS call center will get this integrated into their systems, software delivered by apple? maybe an API? i'm really curious now.
In the US (and presumably Canada), some PSAPs (the 911 call centers) have the ability to receive and respond to text messages over SMS. It was designed for emergencies where audibly calling 911 could put the caller in greater danger, such as abuse or a home invasion. Presumably the messages will be sent via satellite to a ground station, where they will then be forwarded to the appropriate PSAP (as determined by the location coordinates sent) via SMS. However, in the event that the PSAP does not accept SMS messages, a call center will call the PSAP directly and relay all the information. My bigger question is who the providers of the satellite communication and relay services are, and what the long term plan is to maintain this support. Historically, dedicated satellite SOS devices have had a monthly fee of at least $15 a month for basic connectivity, so it will be interesting to see what Apple negotiates for its users, and with whom.
This is just revolutionary. 👏🏻
Nobody get lost until November
R.i.p Horror/thiller movies
Of course they don’t tell you how much it will cost to keep the service after two years.
This is a great feature!
A shame it’s not free forever though
I can understand why, this new tech is probably super expensive to run and maintain, and it won't make sense to keep it forever free, as Apple might run out of money to keep the service up. So they might have us pay a subscription for it. But hey, 2 years free is generous.
This event was full of true innovations.
Unlike last year’s gimmicks disguised as innovations
Wait till next year if you think this year was “full of innovations”
Hi Apple, i have a question. In America, this would text 911, does this mean it would not be available in any other countries? If so, who is it going to text?
Hello. Emergency SOS via satellite will be available only in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada: s.apple.com/DH2a5J8xX0
For additional questions, please reach out here: apple.co/GetSupport
And now y’all making us PAY for this?
That this costs money/is a part of a subscription is absolutely absurd...
And dont try to say "b-b-but the trillion dollar company is loosing money on the service", its not excuse. It must come a law which forbids features like these to be hidden behind a paywall.
Question: what if the phone dies?
Question 2: is this added on iOS 16?
Great new feature! This one could be a life saver.
I have a new 14 don’t see this yet
Make it available for the whole world! I bought the iPhone 14 pro max in Japan and I don’t have even the demo! What happens if I get lost here? I’m I just gonna die? I might sue for false advertising!
Emergency SOS via satellite is available in USA and Canada.
Will the old system of pushing side button still be available? I recently successfully used it in a situation where II was too sick to manage the complexities of the phone. I was so sick I couldn’t even figure out how to dial a phone number.
We’d like to assist. Yes, it will still be available. Learn more about that here: s.apple.com/dE4n8U5v5w
