The simplicity of the Trangia type is a major plus otherwise a propane burner for adjustability. Thanks for demonstrating.

I have the same stove. I like the general idea, however the downside I experienced was the handle getting way to hot after use. No issue with dripping on mine though. Its been a couple years since iv used and I think I stored fuel in mine so it should be interesting if it will even work if I try it out again now haha.
This stove is replica of a Turm alcohol stove of first half of XX century.

This is a throw-back to the old Turm stoves from Germany. I have a few in my collection. They are great to light once in a while, but that's about it. I do like an alcohol stove with a regulator - but this one is not it.

I just checked Amazon, it is "Currently Unavailable" and only got a 3.5 star rating. So I'd never even consider buying it. Which is too bad. Looks like great idea.

It amazes me that any firm keeps trying to make new stoves when there is a BRS pocket rocket or a Trangia alchohol stove.
This is the size of any car camping butane or propane stove easily bought at a big box store for $30.
Heet and Butane is about the same cost per BTU and about the same carry weight.

less is always more... quality is always the best sustainability argument... the humble Trangia burner continues to perform as it should, since ages! Before throwing this Lixada stove to the dump I would take out the burner, pipes, tank, and keep the frame with pot-stands to use it as a "tripod" over a Trangia, Gosshawk, Evernew, X-Boil, Speedster, etc. burner... in this way you would not waste material and make a small contribution to the well being of our planet... greeting from wild, wet, windy, and wonderful Western Patagonia
You should have set it up with a full tank in large, concrete parking lot and done a 4 liter "boil test" and let the stove self immolate. Film it from at least 30 feet away with a telephoto lens. THAT would have made a great thumbnail picture!
Strip it and use the base for pot stand for sterno type can.
I think you should have given it to a Consumer Protection Agency, Ernie to stop this dangerous product being sold on the market. Just throwing it in the bin will not solve the problem.
Cork plug solves the cap issue.. Not to trasnsport, just pour out the fuel when not in use..
It's not the sort of stove I'd buy anyway but by the looks of it you've done a few people a great service warning them off this.

Maybe it isn't meant to be a hiking/camping stove? Maybe it's just an emergency backup for power outages and off-grid use. Either way, not a good buy. Thanks for the review, Ernie!

I seen enough that I wouldn't trade it for my alcohol stoves. The hotter the fuel canister the more pressure the more the leaks, not like the SR71 Blackbird that would get hot and seal its fuel tanks.. THANK YOU for this video.
As quality... there's a reason my stoves are from MSR, Coleman and Optimus. I prefer my house, garage and car to be uncooked.

But the simplest of alcohol stoves will always be the best.
Stoves of that kind were pretty common around Germany up to maybe the 1970ies. When they do not leak they do a pretty good job. Especially when it comes to longer burn times. These guys can burn for an hour and more without refueling. But they were not really meant for hiking. Stationary camping, weekend huts and so on. A mechanically inclined person could do a bit of adjusting on this stove and run it forever. As far as the cross threading of the cap goes...yeah, don't do that.
I wonder if they omitted to put the o-rings in the valves?
I would have been curious to see, in an outdoor safe environment, tank full, large pot on burner, to bring the heat as close as possible to fuel tank, and see if the tank ruptures, proving just how dangerous the stove is. Keep well and raise hell. Dave & The Girls
Could you review the Indian style of kerosene stoves? Would be nice for a portable stove that has a regular kitchen sized flame spread.
I have a much better quality two burner that uses the same principle. It is a German HPV mambo. They used to use these in the DDR.
I have seen this stove design before maybe by other manufactures and was not impressed. It has too many fail points and to tell you the truth, it looks like a DIY bomb...

Ernie: I think that you just got a bad stove, in that their quality control failed on that particular unit....I've had mine for a couple of years, I've used it several times, and never had a problem. AND I've stored fuel in it too.
I think another problem for you is that you are looking at the stove as a backpacking/camping stove--IT IS NOT! As an emergency cooker that does not generate a lot of carbon monoxide, it would be great! It is adjustable, simmers, and does not run out of fuel every 5 minutes.
But you do have me thinking, so I will dig it out and see how it is doing now...I'll get back to you.
Just got done boiling a couple of cups of water for coffee on my LIxada alcohol stove. There was no leakage around the main control knob. The fuel tank cap did take a little care putting on and off, but worked just fine. Although, there was some drips from the little knob at the base of the tank when I loosed it--but I don't think you even need to mess with it, and when it was tight, there was no leak. The fuel tank is NOT pressurized, in fact to allow fuel to go into the lines to the burner, you are supposed to loosed the cap--there are vent holes on the side of it, so that when you loosen the cap, you get ventilation into the tank without having to take it off.
I think this stove deserves a second look from a different perspective--not as a camp stove, but as a prep for power outages at home.
It's a couple of days later, and I have been looking up the instructions for using the stove. That knurled brass knob at the base of the fuel fount is NOT for adjusting air flow. It is not to be loosened during use--which explains why is started leaking for you. It took me some doing, but the instructions can be found on one of the Amazon sites for it in one of the small inset pictures. I took a screen shot and saved it, and if I could figure out how to include it in this comment, I would.
He didnt review this for backpacking. His scrutiny was directly focused on why anyone would buy a large alcohol stove over a butane or propane one. Also alcohol stoves produce significantly more CO than gas stoves. CO production correlates directly with the efficiency of the fuel burn and alcohol stoves are universally terrible in that regard particularly once you smother the flame a bit with a pot of cold water. BPL covered this extensively in a long CO emissions test. If you care about CO emissions, you dont buy an alcohol stove lol.
I AGREE. I WONDERED WHAT ERNIE WAS THINKING WHEN HE,SPOKE OF PRESSURE AT THE TANK. IT WAS,ALSO NOTABLE THAT THE LOWER SCREW WAS SEALING WHEN TIGHT. ALCOHOL IS A GREAT SIMPLE TO USE FUEL FOR SIMPLE RELIABLE STOVES. THAT ONE PRODUCES ENOUGH HEAT TO BOIL SIZABLE POTS OF WATER AND WOULD DO 2 CUPS QUICKER THAN MOST. THAT'S WHY ERNIE DIDNT SHOW THE BOIL TEST... IT LOOKS LIKE ERNIE IS BEING DIPLOMATIC AND KIND TO US WHEN HE CONDEMNS ONE THAT HE DOESN'T HAVE A SALE CONTRACT ON... I'VE NOTICED THIS BEFORE.
This reply is to Nate at 10:42. If alcohol stoves have such high carbon monoxide emissions, then why are all chafing dishes heated by sterno, which is jellied alcohol? Also it may be true that when you smother a small alcohol stove with a large pot of water it becomes inefficient, however with a large stove like this you are not smothering the flame . Also Ernie was so focused on backpacking that he missed the bigger picture. People would want a larger stove like this for cooking for larger groups in the home in an emergency situation.
@@stevepearson6983 Sterno cans are cheap, thats why they still have a market. The CO production is also generally not a concern unless you're cooking in closet. The point remains that alcohol stoves are WORSE than a gas stove in CO output.
throw the frame away and save the parts...perhaps new O rings will cure the driping....
you can at least play with the parts no one likes to waste money maybe the frame can be used for a 2 lb coffee can burner top for burning twiggs ?

@stevenkeery He starts demo by saying "he will show it leaking" and he did just like you said. But the last couple of shots show it not leaking from either end. Those finger brass tightners had been tightened up. Others who have them said theirs were fine. Also he didn't actually show the filler corrosion, just his manipulating it. But any surface filming from storage or his previous use would not be permanent on that metal... It was a biased review leaving out key important positive points... It's low stability. It's great configuration and capacity for say 3 people car camping, the knob control which most sport burners don't have, it's gravity fed system and heating tray being good points that are rare to find.... And I really doubt that all that went in the bin just for a couple of cap screws that are designed for fingers to tighten anyway. And can easily be chemical sealed for the paranoid. What is the agenda? Think about that...and look closer at those last videos...
It's a poor copy of the German Marke Turm model 144 stove from many decades ago.
