For clarity, I think you’re on the right track so to speak, but what you aren’t understanding is that gender identity is a separate social construct, it has nothing to do with biology. It was intended to try and compensate for the effects of gender roles and expectations forcing someone into a box. Is that the solution? I’d argue that the roles should be completely destroyed altogether, rather than trying to create more “categories.” However, at the end of the day regardless of who venture calls themselves, they are still succeeding in defying stereotypes for the female sex. The people who created the social construct of gender were ironically the very people who set those expectations and stereotypes. Yes, there’s an argument to be made that with the label “nonbinary” new stereotypes and gender expectations can arise, but that was my point in the last part, and those stereotypes haven’t necessarily arisen yet.
