It's hard to go wrong with Tamiya. Whenever I get discouraged by a bad kit, it's nice to go get a Tamiya tank and work a model that goes together like warm butter.
Really nice. I am looking forward to part II and those tracks. I have not built any British WWII armor as of yet (a lot of American & German though) and this looks like a good place to start.
Just got the Tamiya 61104 Focke-Wulf Fw190 F-8/9 w/Bomb Loading Set in the mail today and looking forward to building it when i got the time! Building Tamiya is always great and rewarding
I've had the Bronco Comet on the shelf waiting since it first came out many years ago. Just been keeping it until the right time to build it. You know, that time where you can build it without getting distracted by starting something else half way through.Don't think I'll bother now after watching how well this Tamiya version goes together !
you can build one fully and make some kind of modified comet for the other tank you have- like the irish headless coachman, with a pv 1110 recoilless rifle mounted onto the turret ring
Looks like another beautiful kit from Tamiya. I'm building the m40 now and it seems the engineering is quite similar. Thanks for sharing this one. I'll be putting it on my list.
The waiting is over, comet tank still my favourite british made tank, I've been waiting for tamiya to come up with this kit (1/35 scale) since 70's. Thanks for the video
What a fantastic video! I really enjoyed watching it and found the information presented to be both informative and helpful. The step-by-step review, hints, and tips helped me better understand building the Tamiya Comet. It's clear that a lot of effort went into creating this video, and I appreciate the attention to detail and the care that was put into making it. I learned a lot from watching it and am grateful for the knowledge shared. Overall, this is an excellent video that I highly recommend to anyone interested in the Tamiya Comet. Keep up the great work!
Just got my kit from my adventure in Marks Models in Dublin. really looking forwards to getting stuck into too. Just need to finish a few outstanding projects first lol
Hank, thank you so much for your great videos! You manage to teach techniques and interest in every new video. You really helped me get into this hobby that I knew nothing about, to the level of a beginner and maybe more than a beginner. Thanks for the recommendations, the videos, and the enjoyment of this amazing hobby!
Awesome build video of an even awesomer model kit!!! Am actually in the process of building tis very same kit and - WOW!! - the ease of construction is just beyond words (though a few of those smaller pieces "challenged" me). Cannot wait for the next video!!
Brilliant build , in April I'm going to the Tiger Day at the British Tank Museum it's where they start there Tiger Tanks up only twice a year because of the cost of the fuel it takes to run them. I've built a Hobby Boss Tiger Tank 1/16 scale but to see one in real life will be amazing !!!!!!
A well done model. I am a new follower of your channel and was wondering if you could also include an approximate assembly time for the model unpainted. This would help to give the beginning modeler an idea what is involved in putting one together. I realize a entry level modeler will need more time verses a "veteran" modeler such as yourself. If every once in awhile if you could build a stock model verses the accessorized version with a lot of aftermarket parts. This would give us a comparison of the basic kit verses a "tricked" out version. If you could note approximate drying/cure time of glued parts, as it would be too easy to start handling the assemblies before the glues have set. ( When I was a kid I tended to handle a model too quickly after gluing turning a nice kit into a gooey mess. These became fire cracker fodder. ) Again thank you for your great presentations.
It looks like a beautifully engineered kit but hard to know how accurate it is without knowing what the decal options are. They managed to serve in the last few months of WWII in Europe. After that they were upgraded with some changes, particularly to the rear hull and back plate. but still really only served in secondary roles or in places like Hong Kong. (The main armoured elements of the British Army quickly converted to the Centurion which was in front-line service by the Korean War). Finally the main gun was a 17pdr but not the same one as the Firefly, Archer or Achilles. It was a shorter, lower velocity version colloquially known as the 77mm.
Ah, bon jovi Hank. Really nice video. It's keeping a spark for building a tank glowing. I have in mind Italeri Crusader III and Pz. Kampf IV (El Alamein) in mind for the future. Wifey insists I clear my stash of aircraft first. She might have a point! On to part deux.
Hi Hank, that was a great 'shake n bake' Tamiys kit, looking forward to yoh painting and weathering episodes, one thing about those early Brirish tanks are their hatches seem a little small for the crew, great video once again mate, best regards from Australia.
Great video, as always. Super kit. But with over 300 kits in my backlog / stash I don't think I'll be picking one up any time soon. But I'll keep it in mind.
Another gem my friend. Truly enjoy the detailed video images, explanations and processes you used. It’s almost like it’s too smooth…great editing. Now, that being said, you have a lot of builds and content, when does the blooper reel make its debut? 😂. I know it exists!
A nice kit but I really doubt that the barrel is slide moulded. If it was it should at least be "drilled out" and a bit of rifling should also be visible. I don't know why Tamiya didn't add a PE screen for the rear of the Comet. The kit is about 50 € on our side of the pond and I'd expect some extras like that for this price. It would be a perfect kit for beginners if it wasn't that expensive. The result looks very nice even without any upgrades.
this looks a great kit from Tamiya. Comet tank has been a long time in coming to 1/35th scale. ( Matchbox did one in 1/75 about 40 years ago.. ) I saw a color photo of Comet tanks in Germany after ww2, finished in bronze green overall. also in photo was a VW in British army colors.. Volkswagon was actually started up by a British army officer with instructions to make "Beetles" as the army needed cars and it was thought good idea to have German motor industry started up again. later the British govt who owned VW simply gave it away for free to Germany ...
Nice review and newly subscribed, just throwing a bit of cold water on this as the gun doesn't elevate or depress, that may limit the diorama possibilities. Can't wait to see those wheels and tracks get added!
Amazing video as always! You are very helpful and inspiring!! I have one question: sometimes when I'm painting with my airbrush I get some dust and something like tiny hair on the finish. I'm sure it's not for my airbrush but from my environment. I don't have any dedicated place just my room, any advise?
I see the stuff time and time again people but tamiya or whatever the glue was down before they put the part down in a Glooze right away. Once they meet when I pour glue down, I have to put that part on instantly. Otherwise it won’t glue dry before I get them together.
Great build and review. Getting ready to start mine. Hopefully will be finished before I get the new Pzkfw IV/70a, ha. My wallet is going crazy with all these new releases.
I am working on my first kit a U S Navy PBR 31Mk.II which I served on in Vietnam. My next project I have been researching which will be the USS Enterprise CVN-65. I saw Tamiya had a kit for $190.00 and Academy had one for $65. What do you think of Academy Kits. I'm weary of under priced kits because maybe the quality will not be as good as Tamiya's. Also I noticed that you use very little cement on your kits. How do you get a seal because I have to put clothes pins on my parts to seal them at times. Am I doing something wrong. They seem to fit on the dry run but spread apart as am applying the glue.
Do most Tamiya model kits look good without paint? I'm about to start getting into collecting model tanks and wanted to start by collecting british tanks.
Hey dude hope ur doing good but i need some advice im located in belgium and need an support foot for the su57 kit cause i did build 1 and the foot is not included where can i get it?
Could you imagine if Tamiya made kits with the details of say a Takom, meng or Miniart and with Tamiya quality? Tamiya kits are always lacking in detail parts. Yes it's a easy build for beginners but what about many others

Ain't that the truth!
Tamiya kits are always high quality!
You should highlight the beer you’re drinking…when you do.
I ought to - you're right! 🍻
Hard to make a bigger dent in my older stash when Tamiya keeps dropping these amazing kits.
Honestly, right!? 😅
Tamiya engineering never ceases to impress, even after all these years.
Right? Always a treat 👍
These are my comfort videos
Ahh that’s wonderful to hear! Thank you for watching
Really nice. I am looking forward to part II and those tracks. I have not built any British WWII armor as of yet (a lot of American & German though) and this looks like a good place to start.
my son gave me this for Christmas - really looking forward to building it! Not done a tank for 30 years!
Fantastic! I think you'll really enjoy it 👍
@@SpruesNBrews Am checking out those tracks from tankraft - look really great. Looking forward to how thy work out for you.
By far the best model making channel on UA-cam. Well done
You're far too kind! I'm really glad to hear you're enjoying, thank you 👍
Nice touch of insetting the pertinent portion of kit instructions.

@@SpruesNBrews I would watch your build with great interest!

Where do you get after market parts and the resin figures? I am looking for tires for a Tamiya 35125 Military Model 1/35 M15A2 w/Tow Missile Launcher.
Has anyone made a brass barrel for this kit? would be nice.
The one thing when you get Tamiya you know that the parts will fit not like à competing I had delings with no names .
Hank, are the kit tracks link and length?
Hey dude hope ur doing good but i need some advice im located in belgium and need an support foot for the su57 kit cause i did build 1 and the foot is not included where can i get it?
I just wish Tamiya would give us grab handles instead of those raised lines. I always have to sand them off and make them out of wire.
Yeah that would call for a super fine mold for sure - I bet a lot of them would end up snapping en-route!
@SpruesNBrews Scale Modeling I don't know, everyone else seems to be able to do it.
Could you imagine if Tamiya made kits with the details of say a Takom, meng or Miniart and with Tamiya quality? Tamiya kits are always lacking in detail parts. Yes it's a easy build for beginners but what about many others
Do the stock tracks have any sag or are they tight as a drum?
They're link & length! So a nice sag built in 👍
