Like that idea of getting the figures started early in the build

I tried the Bronco Comet before this kit and had to give up. There were tiny little parts, the size of a flake of dandruff, with no positive location, and they were swamped by my finest tweezers. The carpet monster ate well, and as often as not, I glued the part to my tweezers. The Tamiya kit is night and day. It has the same fie detail, but tiny teeny parts are moulded onto larger parts which can easily be handled, and there is positive location throughout. Great kit and boo to Bronco, who seem to go out of their way to make their kits difficult if not impossible to build.

I was building Tamiya kits back in the 70s. Watching this makes me want to start again.

This was a nice surprise, building the same thing myself right now! Cheers from Finland! 👍

These modern Tamiya kits are amazing from a fit and engineering point of view. I shall get one of these pretty soon

Like the platforms for the figures. Building smth up at the moment, and not a clue as to how high or low the figures need to be. Great vid - thanks - looking fwd to Pt2.

As one who has books upon books of German armor, I have to admit the British Comet was a beautiful tank and I consider it a Great Grandfather to the other beautiful tank of the UK forces. The Challenger, and Chieften before it. Just first-class work as always CSM!

I thinking about getting this kit(in other words it’s just a matter of time)..It looks a lovely kit and I have to say that Tamiya figures for just plastic figures are great.

    Hi mate
Great build video and interesting model subject.
Tamiya are just getting better and better with every new kit release. ❤😊

Great stuff! I just purchased this kit, as well as Tamiya's Hellcat, so I greatly appreciated your commentary & vid regarding the Comet kit. Furthermore you provided the 'kick in the butt' I needed to get going on it!👍👍BTW, thanks, too, for your blunt discussion re: the Dragon Sherman II kit in your previous vid, as I had it in my cart to purchase on eBay, but had not yet pulled the trigger. Whew! 😅
p.s. I hope all is well with your business this year. Ideally the busy spring/summer season has been rewarding & profitable horticulture, rather than "horrorculture"!🙏

Another excellent video, Tamiya always are a safe bet when thinking of what kit to purchase, looking forward to the painting episode, I have this kit in my stash, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍

I love the engineering of these kits, go together in such a satisfying way. Recently did the older Tamiya Cromwell, interesting to see how they've changed up the hull.

14:10 The "flame marks" he is referring to is when armor plates are cut with torches during manufacture. Look up right here on UA-cam for someone torch cutting steel plate and you'll the see the effect first hand. Beware adding this effect to every AFV you build because it wasn't always done this way.

Great build CSM! I am still building the German armour that I have in my stash at the moment, then I intend to start on British subjects, and after watching your build of this kit it just might be my first purchase. Keep the builds coming mate, and cheers from Australia 🇦🇺!

Subscribed to your channel little over a year ago, great to see you at work on these kits. Recently getting back into this hobby after nearly forty years without a sniff of polystyrene cement! Would love to see what you would do with something like Andys Hobby HQ 1/16 Tiger 1. Keep inspiring your viewers.

Very informative. I’m just about to start the build myself, however, I will be using the Eduard photo etch and also the Chuanyu gun barrel.

This kit shows exactly why I do not build Tamiya kits anymore: (1) most of the vehicles are not of interest to me since they are too mainstream; and (2) the engineering is too good which spoils the building experience for me as I like a bit of part wrangling.

      @peterstaklis3712 Рік тому +2

Yup. Always better for the company to engineer a kit so it takes hours of filling, sanding and part wrangling just to make it look like it should. Shame on you Tamiya for making us skip that joy with this beautifully engineered kit.

@@peterstaklis3712 Another Tamiya fanboy I see. I have no problem with what Tamiya produce. I wouldn’t build this kit if it was the only one of that vehicle as it is not of interest to me (point 1 above). Do I like bad kits, no I do not, but do I not mind doing a bit of work on a kit of a vehicle which interests me ( point 2 above).

I don't think you like Tamiya... If I'm not mistaken, in 19 mins video you said Tamiya only 23 times (yes, I'm an autistic veirdo ;) I counted). That's very low Tamiya per minute ratio. Look at me, in this single YT comment about Tamiya build I was able to sqeeze Tamiya 24 times. Maybe before you start recording your Tamiya commentary repeat for couple minutes "Tamiya... Tamiya... Tamiya...". Would it not be like some sort of Tamiya brainwashing you ask? Well... duh! How else would you convey this niuanced and hard to grasp idea about Tamiya, that no one said about Tamiya before - Tamiya is great! And not only Tamiya in general, but Tamiya models, Tamiya design, Tamiya engineering, Tamiya fit, Tamiya glue, Tamiya tweezers, Tamiya side cutters, Tamiya all sort of accessories etc. In the name of all thats Tamiya - mate, get on it! No Tamiya Hyper Uber Fanatic Ultras prize for you, not this time, sadly... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
