Most people consider Aurora an angelic princess with a siren like voice. She gets deep into her music and will occasionally shed tears during concerts. Her music is mostly dark, sad and emotional. She in fact is heavy into fantasy books and fantasy movies like Lord of the Rings. At 72 years of age I have seen many performers including Jimi Hendrix, Elvis. Joe Cocker, The Who and many others but I was never obsessed as I am with her. I even watch her interviews which are very entertaining. She has a sense of humor. She is very charismatic. Just be careful because she has that effect on people when they start watching her videos. She writes all of her music and produces them as well.

Aurora is an amazing person and she pours herself into every song. Its like the music possesses her and takes over. She is very querky, wholly authentic to who she is and is capable of saying almost anything at any time. The more intimate the environment the better she is live especially.

Saw her in DC a few weeks ago. Aurora is a bit of an empath, quirky, funny and an overall sweet person. She gets lost in her songs and doesn't come back until their over. You can sometimes see her physically shake herself back.. You can see she's very animated, goes crazy singing "Running with the Wolves". She makes me think of the "FLower Children" of my day, nature lover and shuns glitz and glamor.

Her live concert at the Nidaros Cathedral with orchestral ensemble, pipe organ and choir is not to be missed! It was initially broadcast on NRK (the Norwegian equivalent of BBC or PBS. And she continues to evolve and grow as a singer/songwriter, performer and producer! A new album out: THE GODS WE CAN TOUCH! Aurora herself is a big LOTR fan, and has said she would love to perform one or more songs for the upcoming Rings of Power series. She was the Voice of the North Wind in FROZEN 2.

Hi Salty, thank you for this fine reaction to AURORA. Congratulations. You have found one of the Norwegian Treasures.
AURORA (Aurora Aksnes) was born on June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is a singer, songwriter and producer with a style all her own.
AURORA's songs always have a strong message. Often the messages are not very clear either. They can be interpreted so that many people can relate them to themselves. Her movements when singing are extraordinary. This isn't a dance. This is her special way of expression. You can also say that she sings with her whole body. Her excellent music, her brilliant voice and her movements. AURORA's live performances are a total work of art. She is often so into the song that she shakes her body or head uncontrollably (--> Murder song, It happened quiet) and need 2-3 seconds to come back.
She is capable of transporting feelings because she allows a look into her soul. Her fans call themselves warriors and weirdos.
AURORA once said: People tend to believe quite quickly that something is wrong with them if they're not like the people they see in front of them
It's so sad that it doesn't take much for us to really doubt ourselves
    - Through The Eyes Of a Child (Live at Nidarosdomen) - ua-cam.com/video/ncG9zTzsisE/v-deo.html - she sang in norway's biggest cathedral - phenomenal acoustics - angelic voice
    - Murder song (5,4,3,2,1) - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert - ua-cam.com/video/vh0SWTVwXxw/v-deo.html - the saddest love song I've ever heard
    - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current) - ua-cam.com/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/v-deo.html - it's about the rape of a woman - some say - these great harmonies
    - Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen) - ua-cam.com/video/AmTiqR2_VAw/v-deo.html - the song is her way of suicide prevention
    - The Seed (Official Video - VEVO) - ua-cam.com/video/_Mc_OM5oNA8/v-deo.html - it's about the climat change, AURORAS “Earth Song”
    - Exist For Love (Official Video - VEVO) - ua-cam.com/video/7YDkrJaiCrw/v-deo.html - best love song ever!!!
    - Cure For Me (Official Video - VEVO) - ua-cam.com/video/K17df81RL9Y/v-deo.html - this cheerfulness of the music - even though she is hurt.
    - Queendom (Official Video) - ua-cam.com/video/wULeXeQkqd0/v-deo.html - about her queendom??
    - Warrior (Live on the Honda Stage) - ua-cam.com/video/I3dvC4tDI3s/v-deo.html - it is for her warrios
    - Heathens (Live Performance) - ua-cam.com/video/utKR7tAm0hg/v-deo.html - another incredibly profound lyrics
I usually prefer her live performances. But in these cases the VEVO video is more impressive. I hope you enjoy AURORA.
Two important bits of information I found from another commenter:
    1. -- In a recent interview she said "well, the last song I wrote is meant for my 7th album.” -
AURORA's latest album, the fourth, was released on January 21, 2022. She's already in the planning for the 7th.
    2. -- AURORA was a teen when she answered the question "are some of your songs related (on different albums)?" - it will all make sense when I have finished. -
AURORA has a plan and we don't know the destination yet. But it is important to know that everything belongs together.
    Have a nice day and
    Greetings from Germany

Nice reaction! From one grumpy old man to another, you are in for many treats with Aurora. She is the total package - singer/songwriter/musician/producer/dancer and an absolutely lovely human being. She is best in her live performances, but she also has some amazing music videos that are mini masterpieces. Her lyrics are insightful and reveal a maturity way beyond her years (she was around 19 in this performance and is 26 now).
For your next reaction, I'd suggest: "It Happened Quiet" live at the Current, "Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1" from the same Nobel Prize Concert and "Lucky" from the Nidarosdomen Cathedral Concert (actually, almost anything from that concert - it's amazing). These suggestions are mostly her earlier work - she's experimented and matured (musically and vocally) quite a bit. I'd recommend watching her live performances of "Exhale Inhale" and "Everything Matters". She has quite an extensive catalog for someone her age.
She will often perform her songs differently - sometimes with her band, sometimes with an orchestra, acoustic or acapella - making it worth while to watch different versions.
Oh, and besides her original songs, she is a master at doing covers. Check out her cover of David Bowie's "Life on Mars" - there are at least 3 versions on UA-cam, but my favorite is the one she performed on the Howard Stern Show.

    Nice reaction 🤗
She was very nervous before this concert, and she performed perfectly 💕
She wrote this song when she was 11 years old, and at that age she didn’t quite understand the meaning of the song. But as she grew older she knew that home meant home to her parents and especially her mom.
It’s one of her most important songs, and one of few songs that are about herself.
You never know what kind of music to expect from Aurora👍
With released, unreleased, a few covers and a few featuring she has about 100 songs 😊
Aurora is a Norwegian singer/songwriter/dancer and music producer.
She plays several instruments like piano, guitar, mandolin and harp (what I know of).
She’s born on the 15 of June 1996, she’s from a small place in Os outside of Bergen🇳🇴
When she was 6 years old she found an electric piano in the attic after her older sister.
Because the power button was broken she had to play with only one hand, and she did that for years.
She began writing music without lyrics at the age of 6, and with English lyrics at the age of 9.
Her family didn’t know about her talent until she was about 13 - 14 years old.
She’s self taught when it comes to singing and playing piano💕
Could you please react to Aurora with:
“Through the eyes of a child” live from Nidarosdomen (cathedral in Norway) 2017
This is also one of her most important songs
“All is soft inside” live at KEXP Iceland 2018

Aurora has one of the sweetest, clearest voices you will come across and with her brilliant song writing and captivating performances style, she is the full package and the real deal.
