He also didn't live in Dubai for 10 years; he was barely there for 2-3 years . He previously lived in Malaysia where he ran into some immigration issues, and had to relocate to Dubai. He was actually leasing a luxury apartment in the Dubai Versace Palace (not living in a hotel), and the FBI has copies of the apartment lease. Dubai laws are actually quite strict, and there is no way he could live there for 10 years without scrutiny.
The punch line here is that it took them less than 4months to figure everything out✌🏾
