shame on the rotten weather but I enjoyed it I love the flashing light at each crossing very bright light you can see it for kms

I didn't think that the weather was too bad, considering that it's late Autumn. I hope Melbourne can squeeze out a few more sunny days before I go back to Springtime in Vancouver in a couple of weeks.

Track speeds vary in sections and for different types of trains. Some of the videos have the maximum speed for that train in the description but not on the video. The curves with restricted speeds are shown on the video. The maximum speed of the train in this video is 100kph. 👍😊

Looking at some old videos, the line through to Orbost was most picturesque, now a rail trail,probably a victim of the looney report
The line to Orbost survived up until 1987 and you are right, it was very picturesque 👍😊
What is beyond the Bairnsdale station, where the remaining tracks lead?
They go nowhere. There is enough track to allow the locomotive to run around the train and that's all. The line used to go through to Orbost but it was cut back years ago. 👍😀

I wonder if you're aware of (the remains of) a significant piece of historic rollingstock that you pass in the first half of this video? I suspect that trees mask the view of it from the railway though, but can be seen from the adjacent road if you know when and where to look.

It used to go to Orbost but it is now closed and removed from the end of the yard at Bairnsdale. 👍😊

What type of braking system is usef on your vlocity trains.
They use a hydrodynamic brake down to low speed then an electro pneumatic friction brake (disc) is used through to a stand. 👍😊
