Awesome! What is the actual height of this base?

Sorry but I cannot remember exactly. I want to say it was under 2".

Nice job - I like it. Will consider doing it for my passenger side. Thanks.

As a 6’4 individual who just bought a promaster the added height pains me
Looks like I’ll just do the passenger seat until I feel like going through the hell that lowering the seat bracket seems to be😂
Thank you for this video! I loved the up close and realistic view of the seats and the bit about the denatured alcohol was a great tip!

Your height would probably require the shorter seat base option on top of the thinner swivel base. Last time I priced that option it was going to be almost $2,000!! Wild!

I'm the same height with a Savanna. I'm at the limit now. I think I will be making a lower base from steel structural tube. There is a video on UA-cam doing something similar. Those bases are pretty hinky, so I wouldn't worry about crash safety.

I'm thinking of converting one of those onto my bench seat in my mazda bongo.

What’s the model number or link to the swivel base?

I want to lower mine. It’s high in the car. Any suggestions or tutorials?

I have the same swivel with a promaster, I was going to cut that metal piece, but after examining it, it looks like its there
to hold the passenger seat belt in case of a high impact collision. Not so sure to mess the integrity of the design for less height.
Any thoughts from engineers out there???
    Thanks

Hello Moore, Thanks for take your time to show us about the swivel seat installation. I am about to buy a Ram Promaster and I would like to know your opinion about get it with OEM swivel base or get the 6-Way Driver and Passenger Seats with Lumbar Adjust. I was looking on the Promaster web page and I can't add both feature. I have to choose one of the two options. Which one would you choose? I just subscribe to your channel Thanks in advance !!

That's a tough one because I only have experience with the 6-way seats and standard seat base. The 6-way seats provide a lot of options to dial-in your specific type of comfort which I feel adds a lot of value considering the lack of adjustability in the steering wheel angle. However, factory swivel seats do sound appealing and would avoid the challenges of raising the seat height with an aftermarket swivel. Plus these swivels are VERY expensive. Overall I feel the 6-way adjustable seats are quite nice so I would probably stay that route if I had to do this all over again but that's only if I don't have the options for 6-way plus factory swivel as you're experiencing now.
      Thanks for the sub!!

@@MooreDoing Thanks for your reply back!! Yes the 6-way seats are very important. I think I will get the 6-way seat over the swivel. Thanks you !!! Have a good day!!!

Do you really feel sage cutting off the seat belt catch that is there because the seat won't support the stress it self

    • @MooreDoing
      @MooreDoing  2 роки тому

No matter the swivel you install, that catch will be rendered useless. I'm not concerned though as they must pass highway safety standards. "This special US version swivel has been tested in the vehicle to United States FMVSS standards 207 & 210, and Canadian CMVSR 207 & 210." 👍🏼
