- Hey! At the recent Stubai-Cup 2023 in Austria, I had the chance to test all the brandnew EN-C 2-liners, that were there and already released!
Also I had the great pleasure to interview the brands and get the best possible overview for you. This is just a subjectiv impression, but I hope it is interesting and useful for you.

Viel Aufwand, aber man merkt es wie viel Zeit und Energie in diesem Eineinhalb Stunden Video steckt. Ein schöner Kontrast zu den vielen 30-Sekunden Tik Toks aus der Szene 😊

Weil ich jetzt schon ein paar Wochen (gebrauchten) Ersatz für meinen 10 Jahre alten Delta-2 (AR: 6,0) suche, bin ich natürlich auch auf die C-2-Liner aufmerksam geworden und habe mich gefreut, dass Du alle dort verfügbaren (kein SOL LT2?) mal vorgestellt hast. Ich will mir zwar keinen neuen leisten, aber ein paar von denen scheinen ganz gut zu passen... 🙂

Photo's breaks are long for performance purpose on barre like enzo 3, no angle at all with the glider, so it's ultra fluid (drawing it would make it easier to explain). Got that form french podcast interview of Honorin Hamard about Zeno2 and Delta4.

Thanks for a comprehensive review of the EN-C 2 liners. I was wondering amongst the ones you tried which glider did you find the easiest to fly or the most EN-C rookie friendly :) ?
Thanks! Definitely I recommend to start with a normal EnC 3 liner first.
But out of those, I would say that the Merlin is probably the easiest, having not tested any extreme maneuvers. Also Drift paragliders classify it as a "Low-c".

I had a takeoff weight of 100 kg. I flew all the wings in the range of upper limit ~ 103 kg or 105 kg, depending on the model.
So I flew all of them with very high wing load.
@@tobivaze ok, thanks. For the Gin or the Swing, upper limit is 100 or 110, which one did you chose?

That was kind of on purpose. I am no pro test pilot and the conditions were too different. Also I want to give everyone the chance to make their own impression and not be biased.

@@tobivaze I understand your reasoning but a lot of countries do not have test gliders at all. Therefore it is nice to hear from someone like yourself what glider felt for instance the easiest, the fastest, best in thermal and so on. In your opinion of course….

@@davidalhoff7190 as there's no recorded reaction when bringing the other wings back to the designer, that's a bold claim :D
I hope Drift will have success with the wing, as they are still pretty new/small company. In my experience Czech wings are mostly flown in CZ.
@@E620SE well you know one of the german Distributors, and before you moved south you were also flying in CZ quite lot. In the end the stoke moments count. And I think he had quite a few of them on any of the wings he tested. Luckily today also most of the wings around are great tools. That of cause also includes Skywalk. I like the xalps4 a lot. But in the end I was not sure if I am pilot in all sketchy conditions I fly in.
24:08 ... Thats exactly what I'm planing :) Doing lots of competitions this year and if I feel I maxed out my Ikuma2 I'm going after the Arktik R :)
Like Tim said in his video this is not so much a good idea. Why rush it and scare yourself? I've heard from master acro pilots that when the Artik R blows up it's a big handful. Very hot glider and more like a Peak than Artik 6
@@POWDIRTFILMS Did you even understand him? I'm exactly that ... An Ikuma2 pilot who has already been flying in active thermal conditions(flatlands and alps with a personal record of 200+ km) for at least 60 hours last year and progressing pretty good this year as well. I'm not someone who is scared of a collapse ... it happens every now and then when the thermals give a bit too much energy or I'm a cought in some turbulence crossing a ridge. I've had my worst collapses on an A wing. Those flying sacks are more scary to me. With higher wings I at least know what the wing is doing and react appropriate (Like easing off the speed or actively flying with a bit more energy stored just in case I need it). Every 2 liner is a handful when it blows up on you but thats what SIVs are for.
@@Itsallgoodtogo Didn't mean to offend you. Just info I passed along from one of the top swiss pilots who has been flying for over 20 years and is full acro. Also, if you've only flown a high B for 60 hours, you should not be jumping up to a hot 2 liner C.
I would not recommend Artic R after Ikuma 2. If you wanna deep jump into 2 liner C world without hesitation than go for Skywalk Mint. Skywalk concept is based on X-alps style. Easy handling, landing, takeoffs, firm brakes. Of course some people Stick to brands heavily but test the Mint before you buy anything. Also I would advise Delta 4 to you. Safe Landings!
Ich hab meinen Schein jetzt ein halbes Jahr und mir fällt öfter (jetzt wieder hier) auf, dass erfahrenere Piloten beim zentrieren die Innenbremse mehr oder weniger vor der Brust halten. Ich habs bisher immer so gemacht: Körpergewicht stark auf eine Seite und die Innenbremse dann mehr in der Nähe der Schulter.
Ist das bei dir bewusst, weil du so mehr Hebel erzeugst, weil du ja eher an dem äußeren Bereich das Profil anbremst oder einfach aus Bequemlichkeit?
BTW schaue deine Videos schon lange, hab deine ungefilterte Art schon immer gemocht und was du mittlerweile hier abliefert ist ganz große klasse. Daumen hoch und weiter so. 👍👍

Ja irgendwo hat sich das erst im letzten Jahr bei mir so eingestellt. Der Effekt ist am Schirm, gerade bei höher gestreckten, dass wie du schon sagst, der äußerste Flügel mehr gezogen wird als der Rest "Brake shifting" und er besser um die Kurve geht.
Aber darum geht's mir eigentlich nicht und es is viel mehr unterbewusst, dass ich dann nämlich über das Handgelenk nachdosiere. Und psychisch ist es glaub ich so, dass es einen hindert, sich auf der Bremse abzustützen falls man bei Störungen abkippt.
Also keine genaue Antwort 😃
Einfach mal experimentieren und schaun wie es für dich passt 😉

Hast so ein wenig ein Fazit, mich würde so ein wenig der Unterschied vom Artik R zum Photon interessieren. LG

Bis wann denkst du, dass du deine Erfahrungen mit uns Teilst, es ist gerade schwer an irgen welche Vergleiche zu kommen.
So eine ganz grobe Einschätzung wäre super, Leistungsmäßig schenkt sich vermutlich nicht all zu viel, Handling wird vermutlich der größten Teil sein. Viele schwärmen vom Sphera RS

I cannot tell what my favorite is, because I haven't tested all of them in similar conditions. E.g. the Libra and Bonanza I need to try in thermals Thermals. Without that, the picture is not complete.

Hi, also ich ganz persönlich würde den Artik R als leicht sportlicher und anspruchsvoller einstufen.
Aber es waren eben komplett unterschiedliche Bedingungen und ich bin schon sehr viel skywalk geflogen und hab mich gleich wohlgefühlt. Deshalb sind die Vergleiche so schwierig.
@@tobivaze danke dihr, habe ich mihr ein bissien gadacht, dass kann man sich sehen lassen, der skywalck scheint mehr stabiller zu sein, und bewegt sich etwas wehniger..

Die Grössen kann man ja googlen. Und manche standen zum Testzeitpunkt noch nicht mal genau fest. ;)

I liked the wing and the concept a lot. But I need to try it again in the thermals. Then hopefully I can learn more about the glider control with the Rast. Very interesting that you had good moments with that system. 👍

Hey Yves, vielen Dank.
Der Photon war auch sehr lebendig würde ich sagen. Ich fand ihn ein bisschen anstrengender, da für meinen Geschmack die Bremsen zu lang waren (hat nichts mit den Steuerwegen zu tun, die C-entsprechend kurz sind).
Insgesamt sehr agil und wenig gedämpft, würde ich sagen. ;)

They were not borrowing the Merin they were lending it to you! 😊 You borrowed it from them.
Why you leave out of this tests the LT2 from SOL Paragliders, it's is the second glider C 2 liners projected by SOL Paragliders, the first fabricant to project a C 2 liners and at this time, with the LT2, classify EN C 2 LINERS.

@@tobivaze Hab bei Gin zugeschlagen, ist grade im Versand
kann ein c 2-Leiner Schirm 10% Pilotenkönnen ersetzen ? Außerdem bin ich der Meinung das im Bereich um den Piloten herum noch soviel Verbesserungen möglich sind.
ob ich mit meinen 75 Jahren noch fit genug bin, werde ich wohl demnächst mit einem Schnupperkurs heraus finden.
Falls ja, hmmm dann wird der Schirmhersteller ( 2 Schirme sind da schon in meiner Auswahl) der dann mein Schirm liefert 2 Änderungen (beide sind nicht Sicherheitsrelevant) und ohne großen Aufwand durchzuführen.
das ist ja alles nichts neues und eigentlich in fast jeden Bereich so
aber wie sich das anhört hast du noch gar nicht mit der Schulung begonnen, bis man bereit für einen 2leiner ist (wenn man das überhaupt jemals ist), vergeht einige Zeit

Bullshit! Drift is an independent company. Some of the members used to work for axis, but thats the past. They do not share anything. Both companys made an EN-C 2 Liner and both are completely different!
