    The only thing I would’ve done different is have the mirror slide to the left since the safe door swings to the right. Other than that very clean install

    I just got a safe installed yesterday, and we ended up with 2 open drywall holes before finding a good spot. It’s
    messed up because the first 2 had pipes and beams behind them. Anyway, this gentleman made it look more simply than we did😂😂😂

      Hey! I’m sure they sell something like a kit now, but at the time. All I used was some ball-bearing drawer slides.
      They have to be the same width or smaller than the size of the picture frame. Then you just attach it to the back and use some good anchors or find the studs for the bracket that makes contact with the wall.
      I hope that helps!

      Oh! I see what you mean. Yes. I had access to the wall behind before I made my cut. It was a furnace room where I could get back there with relative ease and install the 2x4 horizontally. I just chose to cut it after the install of framing because I was able to gently guide the skill saws blade against it for a clean cut.

    The stud finder..I have the same one. How do you know/how did you find out if any wires were behind there with the stud finder?
    Just curious is all. I'm glad I saw you use it. 💯

    • @rightbraindom3858
      @rightbraindom3858  Рік тому +3

      Honestly man. Most stud finders are not reliable to the extent to where you can 100% assume that there is nothing behind the wall. Always proceed with caution when doing jobs that involve cutting into the wall. Consider where outlets are. If the electrical may run a certain way. Consider what is on the opposing side of the wall such as bathrooms, water supply lines, ect.
      Using a stud finder is great! However, I don't always rely on it entirely. Use your best judgment.
      Hope this helps! Have a great summer!

      @@ashtongtv863 It really depends on where you install it. This model is built to go in between two studs and then fastened down to the frame work from the inside of the safe. You can utilize stronger fasteners if you are truly concerned with it being removed by force. Also the void behind the safe is minimal. It's not enough to even get a leg up.
