This is a great question. I like woods that are easier to turn, also have some moisture resistance. Ebony might not be the best to do and entire blank with, but as an accent, it is fine. When do the blanks break?
Sorry about that, I call my wood pieces blanks too. I have used all brands and now I mainly use American Tackle blanks. The only time I have had blanks break, is due to damage or high sticking.
