I remember I was 8 years old in a Toys R Us when this was being displayed in a box. The game was already played a bit by other kids up to that point, so the wing cap was already got, but I had no idea what I was walking in to. I just remember stepping into the first stage and seeing a red box. I was thinking something like "Oh man, Fire Flower or Feather Cape?"... but there was a hat with wings that lands on his head. This music started playing and I felt the weirdest case of existentialism. "Holy crap, I can actually fly now?!" I didn't know the triple jump was a thing yet, but I saw a cannon earlier, so I blasted from that and I just remember feeling so exhilarated from the experience. Landing on a floating island to find another one, with another cannon to blast from and go even higher. After I got the game, I couldn't put it down. I was already neck-deep in Mario RPG which had come out a few months earlier... but holy crap, THIS was the reason I saved my allowance like crazy for a N64. And to this day, I'm still incredibly happy with that decision.

That was how I was introduced to the Super Mario franchise. This, DK64, Kirby 64, Super Smash Bros, and Spider Man 64 were the basis of my early childhood when it came to gaming. I grew up with this game so this theme will forever have a special place in my heart. Here’s something different. I was playing Minecraft survival and I beat the ender dragon and got the elytra wings. Never ever have I gotten it before nor beat the dragon and it was my first time trying to use the wings. The moment I lunched myself into the air and heard the wind. Instantly I just thought about Mario flying with the wing cap and the song started to play in my head. Guessing the Excitement and wanting to fly triggered a good childhood feeling. :)

I grew up with this game so this theme will forever have a special place in my heart. Here’s something different. I was playing Minecraft survival and I beat the ender dragon and got the elytra wings. Never ever have I gotten it before nor beat the dragon and it was my first time trying to use the wings. The moment I lunched myself into the air and heard the wind. Instantly I just thought about Mario flying with the wing cap and the song started to play in my head. Guessing the Excitement and wanting to fly triggered a good childhood feeling. :)
