Finding/learning statutes and/or case preceent is the easu part. The hard part is procesure, there can be a half dozen or more procedures that you may need to know until you distill down to ybe exacr procedures used by a particular court.

Question: I filed a contempt for visitation, court date is Nov 3rd, I've been advised this is just an arraignment and the actual hearing will be sometime after that, is the true?

If that's the very first court date, then that might be right. The arraignment is the proceeding where the individual is informed of what the charge is and has a chance to plead guilty or not guilty. If the accused pleads guilty, then there may be no need for a trial. This webpage might be helpful to you: jamesmoorelawfirm.com/family-law-contempt-basics/

CA fam dept civil contempt- can same counts of contempt be re-filed for OSC after same fam dept already heard and ruled on the matter. After hearing concluded Court minutes indicate court found No Evidence of Valid Service & court dismissed the charges, not guilty.
Can petitioner through new counsel re file same counts contempt ?
