    This must be a low volume brewery. In high volume factories modern equipment fills the cans in a large circulating table containing as much as 36 heads continuously at around 3000 cans per minute non stop. Also they are completely automated including the packing and warehouse storing. The proper name for the lids are 'ends.'

      @Bogtrotter, Is there a way to ascertain 100% seaming integrity??

    • @godfearingheathen
      @godfearingheathen Рік тому

      @@oluwasegunoyewale2882 In my 37 years in the can manufacturing industry: that is, actually making the cans, not filling them as misnamed here, the can maker was/is responsible for the integrity of the filled cans at the brewery/soda factory, having a seaming mechanic on hand to monitor and fix any problems. Leakages may not occur or even be apparent for hours or even days after packaging and warehousing in which case the can supplier is totally responsible for any losses as per the contract.. There might only be one leaking can in a carton but it would spoil the other cans and also the cardboard container.

    • @oluwasegunoyewale2882
      @oluwasegunoyewale2882 Рік тому

      Thanks @Bogtrotter. We actually produce the cans ourselves as well as filling. Only lids are outsourced. Improving the seaming integrity to fully comply.

    "The cans are washed and dried so they do not rust"? Aluminum does not rust! The cans are washed and dried so they are clean and do not have beer on the outside of them when they are boxed and sold.

    • @stephanesonneville
      @stephanesonneville 6 років тому +3

      Aluminium rust, hence aluminium oxide. But the inside of the can is covered by layer of plastic, on the ouside by ink and varnish.

    • @alexruff5207
      @alexruff5207 6 років тому +11

      The word "rust" is reserved to describe a coating of iron oxide that is formed on iron or steel by the process of oxidation. Aluminum does not form iron oxide so the word rust should not be used to describe its oxidation. It amazes me how the writers of so many "how its made" type of TV shows and videos don't have any knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes and write total garbage to descibe how products are made.

      They are cleaned with caustic cleaner, rinsed with water, then sanitized with an acid close to vinegar in chemical make up, but stronger. This is done before and at the end of each canning run, the same as the tanks the beer is brewed in, and tons of other food manufacturing equipment.

    • @godfearingheathen
      @godfearingheathen Рік тому

      The beer/soda is chilled before filling to reduce foaming but also the co2 going into the contents is in a liquid form and doesn't get time to foam up too much before being seamed.

    • @Doctor_Money

      The gas is part of the natural fermentation process

    • @Pickleriiiiiick
      @Pickleriiiiiick 2 роки тому

      It's actually added by diffusion. There's a portion that happens due to fermentation. But that would be considered "almost flat" to most folks. It's closely controlled and dialed in prior to canning or kegging.
