Ah memories , I'd spent time with the band , mostly JJ during this period . I spent time with him and a band called Kokomo from japan who were recording at Air Studios , he was helping with production. I was 17 and took it all for granted but now I realise just how fortunate I was to experience all that. Still in touch with JJ occasionally but alas I doubt I see them again due to the convid jib jab rules . Still it's great to watch old film like this .
This is cool for all you guys who didn't live in the 70's or 80's, this was a nice 7" freebie on white vinyl issued with the Black & white album. Given the tech nowadays , why can't someone post the whole London Ladies bootleg? It even has the Original recording of a punter calling Hugh a Wanker (and he stops the band, mid intro). Unfortunately my ex has it....worth at least#100?
Hare Krishna I was a young punk who at school remember that every one was singing Peaches 🍑 when it came out in 77 Gr8 live Band as well 💀🇬🇧🇬🇧🌈🍄🕉☠️🏍🏍🌙🌈⚡️⚡️😳😳😳🎸🎸
Or Strange Little Girl, or Midnight Summer Dream, or Goodbye Toulouse, or....etc.. The Stranglers were defined by their ability to not fit in a genre. They were punk, and they were also not punk. In other words, they were 'punk'. Haha!!
RIP Jet black 🥁🖤 and RIP Dave Greenfield 🎹 can't believe we have lost both of you a great loss to the music world 🌎
How great was this for a Stranglers fan!!!!
Now you know why no one came to see us two years ago. Great line.
I still have this version of TITIS on the white vinyl single that came with B&W album & love to see more of this footage
Great stuff , thanks for sharing
Wow! Amazingly rare stuff, this is what UA-cam is all about : )

Another funny live recording is when Hugh complains about the audience spitting at him.

Happy 70 Dave Greenfield
Gold ✌🏼️
great ,thanx :)
what year guys ? I'm guessing 78 early 79 based on the gear ....
Not 1979, I'd say definitely 1978 going by the band's dress and appearance.
@@beefheart1410 So from 1978 to 1979 it totally changed then?

Where does Golden Brown fit into this musical genre? (clue: it doesn't).

01:05 He labels JJ Bournel as "Straßenjunge"
I assume this word had a different meaning back then
Street Urchin or Street Arab?
Does anyone know the name of the first song?
It's called Outside Tokyo from The Stranglers "Black And White"album of 1978.
Paul Kass
Thanks mate!
Outside Tokoyo from the Album Black & White 1078
Is it JJ or Hugh singing?
@@treasurehunteruk9718 Definitely Hugh!
Ja ja
Is there any better music than this?.........is that a german accent?
+Chris Bowers It is German indeed - commentator states, very dryly, their age and occupation.
