I saw them in 1977 at the "Paradiso" in Amsterdam. I was 19 and this was my introduction to Punk. What an eye opener. I am 65 now and still love this band and this song in particular.

It was around the mid 80's I saw The Stranglers in concert in my hometown of Santa Barbara, California at the Santa Barbara County Bowl. Oddly enough they opened up for Roxy Music. Two of my many favorite bands from England.

@@WaltzInBlack Yes it was! I had the studio recording of the LP 'Feline', and I did purchase the t-shirt of that tour. Unfortunately I do not have the ticket stub nor the t-shirt. I do wish I still had them. I kept yelling out for them to play "Peaches" a few times but they didn't. But Hugh did respond to that, "Ah. Someone remembers." I think I was the only one at that concert that knew who The Stranglers were.

@@undergroundwarrior70 this gig is also interesting as it's not on the 1983 gigography. They were in the area at the time. As they were support to RM, I wonder if it was an early extra show added in to their schedule. Never knew the supported Roxy.

@@WaltzInBlack It was announced that Roxy Music was coming to Santa Barbara at that time, but I do not remember if The Stranglers were on the tickets or they were listed as Special Guests. Or for some reason a cancellation on the other band and The Stranglers were available at that time to open up for Roxy Music. I do not know any of the details for that concert. I was just very happy to see The Stranglers and Roxy Music that same evening on stage. (Also it was around 1981 or '82 that I did not make the effort to go see Kraftwerk in concert at the Santa Monica Civic, in Santa Monica, California. To this very day I kick myself in the ass when I think about it).

I believe that the contemporaneous, ITV Granada critic comment at the end to outline that The Stanglers were essentially rebelling against the "punk rejection of objectionable Rock 'technique'" was well made. They were/are a great band caught in the transmission between Rock/Punk/New Wave. Anyway, a great band for musicians to enjoy and learn from.
