On July 11th (Monday) if your ebay promoted listings are not set to the new minimum promoted rate, it is the save as not promoting these listings at all. In this video I will show you how to quickly get your listings switched over. Plus I have uncovered a new glitch in the ebay app that can cause you to unknowingly list an item with free shipping which can really cause a problem if you are trying to charge the buyer for shipping. I was a reseller for two years on eBay, Poshmark and Facebook. My experiences all I’m doing is making eBay Poshmark Facebook Goodwill the post office and anyone else that has their hands in the pot rich. In my book the good years of reselling have long been gone for at least three years now. All we’re doing now is working slave labor pay not worth it. Let alone the taxes I keep getting hit with when I hardly have sold anything.
105 out of my last 200 items sold have sold through promoted listings. Can't say whether or not they'd sell without being promoted, but I definitely see the value in the program.

If every single person did all listings at 2%, isn't that the same thing if everyone didn't do any promoted listings?
Well you would be just a tick ahead of those who don’t promote.
I have found that promotions are just another ebay money grab. Commonwealth Flipper suggested using coupon promotions and that has increased sales.
I look at all of the eBay tools to increase sales.
I set an overall advertising budget and allocate a percentage to each tool.
Sales Markdowns, Promoted Listings and Coupons all work for me.
I try to balance them out but unfortunately, Promoted Listings gives me the most bang for my buck.
Each tool can attract a different buyer depending on how they are searching and the importance they place on what "gimmick" we are using.
Public Coupons are definitely a gimmick.
Every listing I have with a coupon attached is redeemed by the buyer.
Yes. Sales increased dramatically when I started using the Coupons over a year ago.
Promoted is the big one.
At 1% there was a little improvement in sales
At higher percentages sales can double or triple.
Depending on sales volume I can spend close to $1k monthly on Promoted Listings. Sounds like a lot but the return on it is insane.
Full disclosure.
I sell many items in the $100 range that buyers need. These prices are inflated to cover my advertising budget.
Bottom line.
I spend a lot to make way more that I deserve.

Promoted Listings only matter if you do a Best Match search which is eBay's default. However, who in the world goes on eBay and then buys right of the best match suggestions? Most will then rearrange by price starting from lowest and then compare. And if there are less than 10 listings to begin with, your listing shows up on the first page (PC) anyhow.
Your Correct!! And that's how 99% of all Ebay Buyers search for a item, the lowest price sells... With a Good Feedback of Course.
Exactly what I was thinking. I sell mainly Lego friends sets & not loads of competition at buy it now prices & I try to keep prices at lowest or near lowest price.
And your right, I always change filter to lowest price, I'm surprised that's not the default so those ridiculous sellers who price items at ridiculous high prices would be at the bottom.
I just think people are not spending due to bad economies & less are using ebay
The buyers who do not really know what they are doing won’t even mess with those search options. Whether it’s because they are relatively new to ebay and how it works as a new buyer or just someone who isn’t tech savvy and only does the basic stuff online. I think those buyers will only search via the default Best match method.

The shipping glitch on the app is annoying.
I find it happens around 1 out of 10-20 for me. A small price to pay considering time I save using the app to list.
If it wasn't for the glitch I would have forgotten what the desktop version looks like.
There are also a few annoyances in the specifics. Some dropdowns don't make sense or are missing key choices.
Do you have fur or metal head rests in your vehicle?
I don't either but they were options in the dropdown. 😆

I too have noticed the glitch about every 20 times.
I also noticed that lately when I go to price a item? Its doesn't always show me what others have sold for. Ebay needs to stop trying TO IMPROVE ITSELF, AND FIX THE ISSUES AT HAND...
That's one of the reason i dont like using the app. Way to many problems. Desktop all the way lol. For me, this wont affect me since i already promote every way above 2% :). As always thank for the info Jon
Thanks for tips I learned my lesson I sold vhs I made a mistake shipping my profit when to 6 dollars profits I didnt took advantage plus the item was free. So lesson to be made.

Savage Pickers here. Thank you for the content. I gave a voluntary refund earlier today for an item I shipped that had an imperfection I didn’t notice. Now my sales have tanked. I chose other for the refund but I haven’t had one sale today. Bummed!
Sales are a bit slow today as well for me too. Hang in there.
Sometimes ebay will review what you put for the reason when you say other, and will give you defect for being out of stock or cancelling. Check your service metrics to see if you have one.
@@stevenhaffley9852 hi, I sent the item out, but gave them a full refund when I noticed the imperfection. They were a repeat customer as well. If they monitor the message, that could be why since I apologized to the customer. Still bummed that eBay hides my items for a couple of days after.

To gain access to Promoted listings, you must be an Above Standard or Top Rated seller with recent sales activity. So I guess I won't be able to do this because Ebay isn't showing my shop when I search my shop name.
Promoted Listings are a waste of your money. Why? Because when a buyer choses "Lowest Price", it bypasses everything to show the listings that are the cheapest.
Also remember media mail rates go up July 10th.
The resellers are subsidising the big e-commerce sellers. While they get low flat rate deals of 4.95 etc., with USPS/UPS, our prices go up.

I’m with you. Enough is enough every time I blink my eyes eBay is getting more out of me. A month ago I had a big garage sale and donated the rest of my store that didn’t sell to a local charity. I’m so over the worries of eBay. In my book resellers anymore are working for slave labor. We’re just making eBay people rich knots resellers.

You need to be on the computer and go into your seller hub. Which is you click on “my eBay” then “selling”. You will then go over too “listings” and then click on “active” which will allow you to bulk edit your listings.

Unfortunately my page looks different than yours. I see my active items, but there is no option for bulk edit. I guess I'll have to do them one by one. I thought maybe it's because I don't have an Ebay store.
How to get your listings to the top 5? What type of tools should I use to do keyword research? How to boost my sales? I am above standard seller with 4 positive feedback. I need some guidance from the seniors. Kind Regards.
Got to take the steps to get your account built up before you start thinking about top 5 in search which involves many factors. First focus on building your account, keep listing, and build up to Top Rated status. These things will help you sell more items. Success on ebay is about the long game and staying consistent with daily listing habits. Keep learning and in time you will do well.

I would like to convert my store, which is about 400 clothing items to all auctions. But I am unable to understand the Buy Now, Best Price requirements. Do you have any help videos?
I personally wouldn’t recommend doing auctions unless you are selling a one of a kind item and’s you don’t know what the value is, or if you are trying to liquidate your clothing and ok with not getting full value for your items. In my experience with auctions, many items with either not sell or will sell at the minimum bid price.
My shop doesn't even look like this. How did you get to your listings? My layout looks nothing like this.

They have to show a profit to the share holders.
Hey Jon Out of Curiosity I've Asked My Younger Brother, Who Is a Network Programmer/Software Engineer about Your Situation and he Told Me very simply That App codes and Actual PC (desktop, laptop) codes are conflicting i.e On the app you can select the shipping policy you set up on you PC But You can not do Overrides On The App but you can on PC People, who have many calls and complex calls (calls = Policies That is just what he identifies them as) will conflict on cross OS. @@FlippinAintEasy Computers/software/code conflicts are just like that the ebay programmers wrote the codes to work with app & pc but either did not do long testing or management made the call and said good enough launch it. My brother said he sees this in every company he contracted with and he also says that cpc (cost per complaint) company goes by will end up making the final decision sad to say
The eBay app is a wreak full of glitches. They constant update the app to make stuff worse and killing my sells.
Not 100% sure of the glitch part thought I heard somewhere and watch and sub alot of you tuber resell channels yours obviously included that ebay had the right or ability to make changes to your listings. And yes it has happened to me 1 time I offer no free ship items. And yet sold an item that was free shipping. I could be wrong about this. Others can chime in. But somewhere sometime I did hear ebay had this power and ability. Ill wait for replies to see if glitch or ebay changing listing. Thanks for all you do. Keeping everyone informed.
They do if your a high volume account and you have a dedicated account manager set up and even then you have to opt in. This was mentioned in last years Winter update but however the verbiage did not specify this until ebay later cleared it up on the boards. In your one case it sounds like you were affected by a glitch.
Hi I’m a new seller on eBay and I’m trying to learn but there is something happened on some items I’m trying to list so I put a price let’s say 100 dollars and I press list then when I go to check my listing the price is changed to 60 dollar and it won’t let me put the price I want I tried with multiple items I wonder what I’m doing wrong?

Hey! After you hit apply did you have to go the bottom right and hit submit all? Thanks!
Once you hit apply this should lock it in for all selected listings. You should see a status bar showing ebay is changing all your listings. If not and you see a submit button go ahead and hit that. You need to see activity of ebay making the requested changes.

If ebay sent it you should find it in your bank's activity or transactions page. Sort the information by date (date after you supplied ebay the bank information to present). It may take a few business days for ebay to send it over so this could be the reason why you havent seen it yet.
As a potential new reseller with eBay are you required to do promoted listing?
No. It is not required. Many of us sell common everyday goods and compete for sales. Promoted listings get your item in front of more potential buyers.....but doesn't quarantee a sale.
its always better to promote listings! but it isnt compulsory and offcource it doesnot guarantee the sales as well!
I don’t get you UA-camrs five weeks six weeks ago you were telling everyone to get off promoted listings especially if you’re selling clothing and things like that now you’re telling nearby to up their permanent listings
You've assumed UA-camrs are experts when they are really just extroverts who may or not be experts.
Wow Michelle, you must have me confused with another channel. If you were referring to my channel, I will repaeat what I have said on many videos. IF you are selling items that have LOW competition, then there is no need to use promoted listings. IF you sell items that have decent to high competition, then you should most certainly use promoted listings.

Just checked and the app is up to date... Happened 3 more times today after I made the video.
I do ebay recommended promoted listing. Sometimes it can be up to 7 percent. Am I making a mistake? Please advise.
Your margins and competition will answer that question. How cheaply do you buy your items for compared to what you are making after all fees and taxes? Ate you selling an item where there is low competition or do you sell common highly competitive items?
Probably a HUGE mistake.
