Not many people on UA-cam are showing maintenance on real farm trucks, looking forward to MORE. Watching people work on new 80k show queens is about as boring as watching paint dry. Bring on the 250k mile work horses, trust me, you will build a large following.
Must be one heck of a ride with that front shock messed up. Maybe some banging noise too. Also a bit of a safety hazard. I'd gamble and say it's an O2 oxygen sensor problem in the mix that needs to be replaced.
Another great video, Mike! I just wanted to mention that the flashlight you're using causes a lot of strobing on camera. You might want to consider a different one.
I had a 2000 Chevy with a 4.8 I believe smaller V8 the only problems I had with some rest well the cab of Mount driver side rear, was pretty Rusty and I was able to put one on the other welded are now so I had to cut it off. And I found one from a K5 Blazer that was real close laser probably was from the 80s maybe the 70s.. use that truck many years I got it pretty low miles when I retired I sold it to another guy and he's just tickled w it.. exmore V8 got really good mileage
I have a 2000 GMC, same engine, 350k miles and still drives great. Always do required maintenance and these engines last. Though, I have the ABS / brake light on, per scan says its an ABS sensor. I had another 2002 truck that had same thing.. A friend has same on his 2003 GMC.. Is that a common issues?
Dirt roads or not, driving without a shock absorber is a bad ideea. No wonder the bump stop on that side was smashed to pieces. Also, I can imagine an emergency braking scenario, jeez.
I still drive my 1991 GMC 1500 single cab short box , there so easy to work on, so I fixed it up now she looks like this . ua-cam.com/video/-BDUuHcDqW4/v-deo.html
Love Mike, grinding out of that little garage, taking any vehicle, doing it all on HIS terms. Respect!
Nice to see you working on "normal" vehicles, that is quite the change

Cliffhanger. Showing the repairs and what he elected to get fixed and didn’t might make good content also.
Surprisingly, this truck is in good condition considering the mileage Mike. Thanks for showing.
A real work-horse.. Nice.
That 5.3 is almost broken in. Those are great trucks!

Would like to see the actual repairs being completed so we can learn how to do them…thanks
Those 99-07 Chev’s will run forever, just so prone to rust
Another great video, Mike!

I have 05 5.3 ls 187000 miles love the truck, 4l60e trans is doing 3 4 slipping
The cold start rough idle is a common issue on the ls. Typically a new set of intake gaskets fixes the issue.
Looks like some comparitively stress free jobs on it !!
Mike, that is quite a well used farm truck. I wonder how much or how little they decide to have you replace/repair?
200,000 on country roads is much better than 50,000 on Northern city streets with all their salt.
The 325 was especially a good engine in this configuration!
Show us how you fix them too. Not just the foreplay of diagnosis and the usual walk around.
Another great video

Nice job, Mike!
my 2015 grand cherokee just did 200k miles :D
Not just your channel but a lot of videos notice many NAPA batteries are they really that good or just a decent price?
I've got 240,000 miles on mine. It's on its second engine though. Knock on wood OEM transmission.

I'm working on a v6 vortec. The vortecs are really is a simple design compared to others
My truck is a 95 and had a crate motor put in at 170K miles
Back when GM made really good trucks. I should have kept my 1995 with the 4.3L, a little underpowered but really reliable.
Had the same year and engine
an interesting candidate
Cutest pupperz in the world.
Strut not one of his concerns.😂😂😂😂
👍🏻
If you don’t mind me asking why don’t you work for the Wizard anymore? If you don’t want to answer I understand
💵💵
Not to sound nasty, but I don't think that should concern any of us
There is nothing like working for yourself.
Curious if he’s still on good terms with hoovie and wizard
Probably just want to work enough to get by.
❤👍
People need to wash their car before bringing it to a mechanic.
👍❤️👍

How can he drive that thing with the struts rotted away?
How's he even driving without a front strut??
Only 200k? That's nothin for a Y2K 5.3.
