For those interested in the accuracy of the SDM 104s: I have one and it puts average 5 shot groups of 10cm at 100m with Barnaul, 12 cm with Hungarian surplus, and 15 cm with Geco (doesn't like Geco apparently). It's from 2019 and fit 'n' finish is fine (don't expect polished surfaces though).
I think it's great that people are finally doing reviews in English on SDM AKs as everything on English language youtube is so US-centric, and we in Europe mostly can't get US AKs and they can't get ours (at least not the way they leave the factories for the European market).
Thats why I made the review. Before I bought it I couldnt find a single one. Yea the accuracy is very good with surplus stuff. I was very surprised even tough I didnt expect much.
@@greyman1987 Chinese surplus is not good though. I have some of that too and didn't even bother to shoot groups with it, it's so bad. I use it only for 25m training.
@@mananaVesta the SDM is more precise than a saiga.
I really enjoyed watching this video, nice shooting and how you described SDM, now I want to buy one. 👍🏻
Very cool ! I love my Norinco AK! Sad, zi ce 94, and onward we (USA) cannot import them :( thanks for sharing! Glad i stumbled across your channel! Subbed!
Nice edits, looks good. I have the same muzzle brake on my draco. Very concussive but it tames the gun a lot.
Great review and demo. Keep them coming 👍
Thanks, will do!
You are killing me! Now I want one! ;-)
I have heard mostly bad things about SDM guns. Nice to see yours seems good. Very well made video.
Thank you !
in Switzerland, an Izhmash Saiga MK-03 (AK-103) costs CHF 1,200, while an SDM AK 103 S costs CHF 685. I own 2 Saigas and I genuinely wonder if the SDM guns are in some way lacking to justify that much of a price difference.
In Croatia surprisingly the price difference as big as in Switzerland but its still there. I think the price will be show in the long run as I believe that Saiga uses better materials, but for now I am happy with mine.
Hi very interesting video.
Could you make a short list with your customised devices ? Thx
This guy is DOPE!
Great review! Good job buddy!
Excellent video covering my favorite variant in the 104. I’d love to get my hands on one and experience it. I reallly like the way you have yours setup. How does the trigger on that SDM AK104 compare to a early Polytech AKS?
I haven't tried any other AK other than Zastava and a Saiga but the trigger on this is pretty good, smooth and on the lighter side, a but long tho.
Nice gun! probably soon I will buy that Ak!
Everyone needs an AK :)
Very good and informative video my friend!
Thanks! Will release a new review of an AR soon as well. Stay tuned!
Im happy to see Chuck Norris be come a gun youtuber.
ROFL
Wau nice one plz will be one of your demo officers
Dude, that rifle is so weird yet cool at the same time. I'm out here in the US and we can't get Chinese made firearms anymore. It's still cool to see some of the stuff they make now. When I was watching the video at the start i was saying to myself, "Why does that have Chinese pattern parts on it?" Sure enough, its a Chinese made ak. Seriously really cool seeing that firearm. Are you going to make more videos in regard to those kinds of clone firearms out of china?
One other thing, nice video production.
Yea, its a interesting product and nice to see the Chinese adapting to new markets with an old Type 56 design. I will try to get my hands on other SDM clones like the M14 and the AR and do a review on them! Thanks for the kind words !
@@greyman1987 do you have infos about the 103 i‘m from Germany so its possible to get and relativ cheap 🤔
@@ladykiller4832 My friend has a SDM AK 103 and he is very happy with it. Most of the things said about the 104 apply to the 103 except the obvious difference in gas block, barrel length etc. I would definitely recommend it if you can get it cheap.
@@greyman1987 750€
@@ladykiller4832 But you should check the individual one thoroughly before buying. Quality still varies a lot with these. Check especially if the sights and the siderail are straight.
thanks man i really enjoyed watching your video and i did learned a lot . i want to ask you two question if you don't mind !! is the AKMs . an SDM version of the normal AKM ?!! and what do you prefer ak 103/104/105/12 or m4/16/hk416 ??
From the looks of it it looks like the SDM AK47 is made to look like an AKM - still has Type56 features tho. I really love both platforms but I prefer the AR's because of their lightweight and ergonomics. The CMMG MK47 is a nice mix of both that I would like to try but its near impossible to find where I live.
@@greyman1987 yeah it looks like it . from where i'm from our special forces use the AKMs so that's why i asked lol !! they mix between ar and ak as well like AK12 . AK103 . M4A1 . HK416 .....so i was wondring which one is better . cuz im new to guns lol . yeah i heard so much about the CMMG MK47 . aw i see well hope you can put your hand on one of those beasts one day . thank you so much for the info man . it means a lot and i wish you all the best
Regarding Chinese weapons I would only trust norinco, Norinco is available in almost all of Europe and depending on the country, its AK prices start at 550 euros.
Hi, is there a trick how to dissassemble the handguard? Mine wont come off. Question: Do you think I can mount a reddot on the handguard? Will it hold zero? Thanks for your great videos
You have to unscrew the rail. I did it when I got it but have since put blue locktite to secure it. Sure you can put a reddot in the handguard. I prefer to mount it near the center of the weapon to keep the weight centered since I also got a light and sometimes a peq15.
Cool video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Top d+++👌
Great review, I wonder where did you buy the muzzle brake ?
Is the tube mil spec ?
Thanks !
The tube is milspec. The muzzle break can be bought from Zenitco, just keep in mind that everyone around you will hate you when you shoot :).
@@greyman1987
Thanks man, greetings from Germany
Ivantactical and grey shop have them, too.
hey i bought the same gun a few weeks ago and liking it so far im looking for a muzzle break similar to this but sadly zenitco wont ship to austria .
can you tell me the muzzle thread on the ak 104s? would be a lot of help to me :)
The thread is M24. I actually went back to the factory muzzle break as the detonation sound coming from the DTK2 break was very distracting to my buddies doing drills with me.
Hello, did I understand correctly your Zenitco DTK-2 flash hider is a replica? What brand? Thank you
nice customisation ;)
Thank you ! It could be better. My plan to put a TWS Dogleg rail and a zenitco rail but that would rise the price of the customization almost as the price of the rifle.
Ciao, hai modo di linkare dove hai reperito quel paramano con i ris? O il resto delle parti.. grazir
Are you able to get a kns adjustable gas piston where you are? It will blow you mind how it softens the impulse
Yes we can, I saw most people said that it was the best upgrade to an AK that you can do and I was planning to get one actually but as soft shooting as I delayed that purchase for now. Maybe in the near future I will get one !
@@greyman1987 If you use that DTK2 you don't need the KNS. I'm talking from experience, I have both on my 104s. With the DTK2 I have the KNS completely closed, otherwise the gun won't cycle. But if you use for example Bulgarian 4 piece style muzzle devices the KNS is great though. The one must-have upgrade for AKs in my opinion is the ALG trigger.
@@mananaVesta I am thinking of changing the DTK2 actually.I was cool with it until I stood next to it when my buddy was shooting... jesus, the blast almost made my tooth fillings fall out :S
@@greyman1987 Yeah, and it's a flamethrower too lol. Comps are for competition when speed is the only thing that matters and there is nobody next to you. I really like the Bulgy linear comps for general work, like the Russian Vector 7.62 DTK I have. It's made of titan, so it's not as heavy as these things usually are. They completely swallow muzzle flash, direct all gasses to the front and even moderate the sound a tiny bit.
I know this video was posted a while a go but i wanted to know if the buffer tube was removable i tried on mine but i'm not sure how to do it so i stopped just in case i made a critical mistake
Not sure to be honest, I never tried.
@@greyman1987 apparently you can with some effort
Where did you buy the weapon? I can't find it online.
I got it at a local store here in Croatia.

Is it possible to install a silencer ? If so, are there any recommendations ?
It should be possible. The barrel is threaded. Silencer are illegal in my country for the time being but it also depends on what you can get there you live.
@@greyman1987 Yes, thanks for the info. In our country it is allowed for some people with certain authorization. But that a thread exists already helps me a lot. Thanks
Are ZENITCO parts compatible with SDM AK 104?
Yes, with some mods. But I dont consider Zentico a viable option because of prices that have gone up to 200 percent.
Hi, what barrel thread it have? Looking for silencer. Thanks

@@greyman1987 thank you sir 🫡
Dig it
Honest question : Why is the quadrail a little bit outdated?
BTW great video edits, I really like the way you did the close-up!
Too much rail that can never be used. You can save weight with a Mlok or keymod style rail and also make the front less bulky for a better grip. But one thing that is really bothersome is the part of the rail in front of the charging handle which makes is hard to use it quickly. That being said its still cool that the rail came on the rifle.
3:30 I saw your red dot sight is shaking a lot.
What nationality are?
Croatian
SDM isn't norinco
SDM is just like norinco a conglomerate to sell chinese produced firearms outside of china
I have heard so many bad things about SDM rifles it’s not even funny... like I literally haven’t ever seen a review that was positive... I’m glad yours is working well but AKs are kind of my bread and butter and I can tell you right now that an SDM is indeed inferior to the Russian original. China is still very much capable of producing high quality AK rifles, but the ones they sell commercially don’t fall into that category.
Hearing that I guess I got lucky, well its a cheap AK that goes bang and is pretty accurate. Time will tell how she holds up when the round count goes up.

Sdm is just an import name Chinese ak ..or shotguns and pistol from turkey they are not reliable at all only for low price range use
Hi, this weapon is actually an iron toy that is designed to play and is never used in real fields and battle scenes. The optics and camera design and red dot design of this weapon is very, very weak and fragile, and for real fields and scenes. The battle will not work. The barrel of the weapon is very short and it will not be useful for battle at a distance of 250 meters.
7.62x39 suffers an average of 20-80fps loss in the 4" difference in barrel length from 12.3 - 12.5 inch "104" barrel lengths, compared to the 15-16 inch "akm" length. You'd know this if you have done research on the 7.62x39 cartridge. Everything else you said, regarding the optics, is true. That does not look rigid whatsoever and instead brings concern of the optic snagging on the terrain and clothing / gear.
