  • Refinements for the HM-01. A shorter exhaust pushrod return spring, reaming the pushrod guide, modifying the points for better looking wiring, and modifying the oiler.
I bought this engine on preorder from Enginediy and they were nice to work with and had prompt shipping. I have a discount code:

I'm tempted to grab one of these engines because they seem to be pretty reliable right out of the box, which is a lovely change from what usually goes down with these stirlingkit engines.

All the reports have been good. This is my first MUSA branded engine and it's become my favorite. I like fiddling with these little models, but the HM-01 and ET1(M90) are the two that have been the best runners out of the box and the HM-01 is just so good looking. A really beautiful little engine that runs nicely from the get go.

@@henrybangsberg2187 Yeah I've got an M17B myself and that thing is an absolute piece of shit. My Cison flathead 4 isn't exactly a winner, either, but I think I can fix it.
The HM-01 looks to be an engine I can unbox, oil up, and start. Right then and there. And it looks to be built substantially enough that I could do something practical with it, like set up a phone charger or a tiny little quarter scale bench grinder, something like that. Looks like it could DO something.
      Also not super expensive either.

I never got any of the multi-cylinder engines. I thought an H75 would be fun, but all those are too much for me. The M17B always looked nice, but I prefer hit and miss action so I got the EM2 with the vertical piston and flyball governor in that size engine.@@TestECull

Hi Henry, do you know how to remove the flywheel once fitted? I cant seem to get the tapered bushing to release

Remove all the screws and wedge gently behind the bushing while tapping the flywheel in should release them. I haven't taken the HM-01 flywheels off, but that's the trick on the Enjomor and it's the same style taper bush retainer.

Thanks, i got it off in the end. My timing was 180 degrees out of sync, they dont mention that in the instructions! got it running now, but not in hitnmiss mode it just stops

Mine had timing marks on the cam gears. Did yours get shipped without them? I am glad you got it put together the right way around now. Is it still too stiff somewhere? I know you will get it figured out! If you want to publish a video of how it runs now then maybe I (or someone else) will have some more suggestions.
