I'm glad to see you start later - once the sun is up. I've watched so many videos of people getting up at 5:30 and hiking 2 hours in the dark and though I'm planning to go this October, I don't want to hike in the dark. Now I don't feel too lazy!
Really enjoying your insights into how you are experiencing the walk. We can allow ourselves to fall into the stuff and busyness of cultural expectations. Yet just walking in nature refreshes the mind. After my Camino the return by train back to Madrid felt less alive as I witnessed the faces of those around me. After walking for a month the city folk felt somewhat preoccupied and sad. Buddhists talk about finding a path to remove the red dust of everyday life so that we can see and feel life more clearly. Thank you for reminding me of these feelings.
Thank you for your thoughtful words! 😊 Your reflections on returning to the city after the Camino deeply resonate with me. It's remarkable how the simplicity and clarity of nature and walking can impact our perspective. I embarked on the Camino seeking answers and clarity about life's direction. Instead of a clear directive, I received a gentle reminder to "slow down and enjoy the journey." The Camino had a unique way of offering the unexpected. 😊
...another joyous episode... when you shared, that you hadn't been so happy for a long time, I had this flashback of how happy I felt on the camino... I also felt 'light', if that makes any sense, and you have that lightness too... Its been a few years that I walked, and I think the prices have gone up... curious if you will share your overall budget at the end... PS. good coffee and fresh orange juice was absolute staple on my walks - then I was ready for anything!! It looks as if you were lucky with the weather (lets see if it stays like that), but I also think that late Autumn is a good time for Spain - its not their rainy season in general (I once got soaked for 2 straight weeks on the camino in June!) Good to see you so happy, Olive - it really reconnects me with my feelings then! 💖
Thank you for sharing your Camino memories! 😊 I'm delighted my journey brought back those happy feelings for you! I'm considering putting together a detailed video with the overall budget, including insights into accommodation, food, and must-visit spots. As for the weather, let's just say there were a few surprises along the way. 😆
You are right! Thank you so much for that!! I don't know how I managed to get so confused about the name.. ”Estella” is the name of the town and ”estrella” is the Spanish word for ”star”, and I somehow mixed them up 😟

I was in May full of blissoming flowers!

So far October seems to be a perfect time to go , so far 😊
'So far' are, indeed, the key words 😆
For-shadowing maybe ?😂
Weather is great until you get to Galicia then in October weather the cold, wet and windy
Enjoying your journey 😊. Slight addition, Izarra is Basque for star not Estella.
