  • In this QUAH Sal, Adam, & Justin answer the question "I’ve seen many people claim that training arms every day will force them to grow. Some people even show good results. However, wouldn’t that be overtraining and send a signal to repair damage rather than build muscle?".

Full body workouts with moderate to slightly high intensity are the best thing that I've ever tried. I keep getting stronger and bigger without ever ending up truly exhausted nor sore.

Also implementing this. Simple bodyweight exercises daily, 3 sets, not till failure. Leave maybe 2 reps in the tank while getting increasingly closer (but not all the way to) failure on the 3rd set. Come back and hit it the next day same way. Results in 10 days are impressive. Appetite is up compared to normal. And yeah the quick easy 20 minute workouts are nice (albeit 6 days a week).

Our bodies were made to work and perform the tasks necessary to live 6 days per week. Before advanced technology, there was no ability (for most people) to rest a body part. The tasks were varied, compound movements, with different intensities. There were seasons and days that had harder labor, some that had more cardio, etc ... Food was seasonally eaten. We entered ketosis at times but also utilized glucose rich diets at times. The nutrients were available to match the work load. We've come so far in many ways and yet regressed in regards to the true function of our body. Now, people are starting to realize that the old paths are the true paths.

I coach mens gymnastics. we hit every body part every practice with special attention on core and upper body. IT WORKS. Lower body builds easily from the sprinting, different jumps, and walking of squishy mats throughout the day. Stretching daily with light to medium intensity also helps with that quick recovery. So, I have been for the last 2 decades training style was like a bodybuilder. Been listening to mind pump for about a year now. About the frequency I agree it's true. When I was younger, 18ish to 19ish. I started lifting when I was 17 and joined a weight training class at my high school. I am now almost 45. I had a friend that was in went to county jail for like 3 months After he got out we went to Bally's gym, we went to bench and at the time I probably could get like reps for 225 being 5'6 at 145 pounds. So he was about 5'9 and when he took off his shirt to wear a tank top { wife beaters) he had a huge chest, he was probably only 10 pounds more that me. He was bench about 280. I asked him how he was so strong? he said while serving time in jail all he did was bench everyday. While I also had a bench at home. So another friend and myself tried this. We bench everyday at my housefor about a month. So we always start 5 pound weights each side. We just stacked 10 pounds per lift. 10 reps per set. Even bench while being sore. I got to 225 repping it like it was no problem. REMEMBER: I always started with 10 pounds minus the bar, and went up this is a lot of sets. I was able to rep 280 at some point. I stop doing this because I was not able to get sore. But I got stronger. I just started doing full body workouts about three weeks now. Its crazy because I get sore from doing 3 sets of one exercise even if's a isolation exercise.
while for the last year my normal set would be 4 sets per body part. Thanks mind pump for just Education

Not weird at all.. there’s hardcore bodybuilders who do 1 set of 100..for biceps 3 times in a day.. every day.. same for lateral raises etc.. lifting heavy every day multiple times a day, 100 reps.. they’re not small guys.
The more you weight train the bigger you get, but for the average person this can lead to more fatigue and possible injury. But for the average person to train a body part that is lagging everyday is actually smart, if your form is good and you are not lifting too heavy

    @kaysianrain9203 Рік тому

I do two sets everyday at home, mostly body weight. Anything with weight, such as arms, using drop sets. Each muscle is hit differently each to keep my body surprised. One day should be a workout under stretch. Mornings are quick sessions that are explosive reps with light weight and night is heavier stuff so as to save my body from being too fatigued. If you're natural make sure you aim for the pump. Everyday workout will increase work capacity over time and push back any sticking points. After a 5months I will add another set. Also it's good to stop workout for a week or so after 3 months, then on your first day back, do one max set for each exercise, whatever your number is, take half off or less depending on your ability, and that number is your new set. If your new set isn't higher than the old set then you need to go back to slowing down your eccentrics and focusing more on contraction with strong form. If you don't do this, you will struggle to progress

I think he is saying this...
Instead of doing a body part15 sets in 1 day...
Divide those 15 sets of a body part over the span of 3 days
      Like so...
      Monday
      Bench
      3 sets
      Pec Fly
      3 sets
      Wednesday
      Dips
      3 sets
      Incline
      3 sets
      Friday
      Weighted Pushups
      3 sets
So doing it this way you are hitting the chest in unique ways multiple times a week
Another way is you can do what I'm doing: having 2 or 3 exercises I do every training session (2-3 a week) to specialize in and track the progress of
Then on top of those add a variety of exercises to mix things up
So for every training session I am doing bench press, body rows, and squats. Then after those exercises I will do different exercises to hit each muscle to finish out the session.
After about a month or 2 I'm going to switch my 3 focuses to shoulder press, dips, and lunges. So I'm applying their 15 sets spread out over 3 days but having some focus lifts I do more often to go for that consistent effect they are talking about. '
So you get the idea I think. Hope this helps

Yes, of course do different exercises. Don’t hit body parts every day though. It’s unnecessary and will increase your likelihood of getting an overuse injury

Archeaological digs have shown that English men from the medieval times had huge shoulders, and forearms, specifically on the right side. This was due to them being required by law to train the longbow, and that many of them dedicated themselves to it. if you've ever tried drawing a longbow you'll know this is legit.

I don't know what these guys are talking about with too many sets. My chest/tricep day, I'm doing 12 exercises total. 4 of them targeting the upper chest, 4 sets each with only 2 exercises including a drop set at the end. I'm doing 32 total upper chest sets a week, and my upper chest is blowing up. 38 if I include incline bench, which I do at the END of my heavy chest day, when my chest is weak and exhausted.
I haven't run in to any issues; it's always been a case for me where if I train too hard, my body gets sick. I haven't been sick from a spent CNS in a good year.

I keep hearing the “overtraining” myth…. If that were a real thing navy seals would be the weakest people ever. They train physically an average 60 hours a week for the 2 years of their training and it isn’t “light workouts” and yet theyre arguably the healthiest and strongest men in the world. Makes me think “overtraining” is a whiners way of getting out of working out sore muscles.
