    You made it look so easy and less daunting which usually happens with tutorials.
    Thank you! Very well explained and broken down:)

    This tutorial is great, I learned so much, and I use your instructions for making other effects, not necessarily riso, I'm actually trying to explore a new illustration style using some of the tips you shared in this video. Thank you!

    Great tutorial. Took me a while to figure out how to cut the individual shapes, but I got the hang of it and learned a lot of things in the process.

    Fun! It’d be also great to turn those shapes in brush and create a diversified pattern with it.

    Could this type of vintage effect be done using gimp program as well, following the exact same methods as you did in this vid and all?

    i like the way you stacked effects to get that printed look
    but masking everything and then correcting your mask along the way is not the best thing in my opinion
    i would cut whatever shape i want and go from there, instead of masking and... this way you can adjust and move them much quicker

    the end result looks amazing but i had to watch this 5-8 times and i still don't know how to do it on my own :/ i think it could've been made simpler. otherwise, great content.

    Following along, and the step where I add the diffuse glow filter is turning my white background black and then adding the diffused effect to that (the background) while my black shapes remain a solid black. What's going wrong?

    • @x5232
      @x5232 4 роки тому +13

      Figured it out. Had white as my foreground color instead of black. Reverted to default colors in my tool panel and it works just fine. Leaving this here for anyone else who runs into the issue.

    the filter gallery effects you applied seem to work terribly for a painted in shape with color and detail, for example diffuse glow removes all the color I've painted in :(

    HEY when i come to the select and mask point, my photoshop (adobe cloud 2023) dosnt show me the same window as yours does ... i can't the a difference on the edges of the shapes and there's not a "view" frame ... can u help me?

    • @phlearn
      @phlearn  Рік тому

      Hi Paula! The Select and Mask window in Photoshop 2023 has been redesigned to be more streamlined and efficient. However, this means that some of the tools and options from previous versions have been moved or removed.
      To view the difference on the edges of your shapes, you can use the Refine Edge Brush Tool. This tool allows you to manually paint over the edges of your selection to make them more precise.

    Wouldn't it be easier to make shape individually and add them to your library and then you can just keep adding instances?
