I bought these mid-lengths headers for about $600. You also need a X or H pipe when doing something other than stock headers just something else to think about.
+miketlane thanks for the comment glad it could help. I installed Bassani on the car shortly after I returned the JBA. I ended up returning both JBA for poor build quality and bassani because it was alittle tighter than JBA. You should have no problem on a spacious f100 good luck with build
@@2004dsgmach1 thanks. I found a set for 400 with mid pipe. Been tempted to get. I have bassani headers and x on my 2000 saleen no issues. But can’t find any for good deal etc
For my next mod I want to put headers but I’ve been told to go with long tube. They are way out of my price range and the brand that is affordable doesn’t seem to get good reviews. It also seems like people don’t really care for shorties so, I’m thinking of going with Bassani Mids.
Maximum Carnage save up for long tubes. If power is what your after then get Kooks or ARH, I’m sure you’ve seen there prices tho.... Depending on your setup obviously, they have 1 5/8 or 1 7/8 for big power. BBK, MAC, passetter all those brand will get you alittle HP gain but the quality and longevity just isn’t there
I guess it depends which brand. I just installed a set of pacesetter longtubes on my Mach 1 and the fit was almost perfect. The tubes are a lot further from each other then most of the lts I've seen. Plenty of room to remove the transmission bolts.
nice video. im planning to run the basani ones. you showed me where the collectors sit is very valuable to me because my dohc is in my 54 f100 and no idea what will work. this helps me a ton
I actually never installed these because of a design defect on the gasket surface and I decided I'm going to do MAC longtubes. So there will be another video for sure
Mac headers on an SVT Cobra? You get what you pay for in headers , we only used Bassani Mid Lengths, at 5.0 Mustang magazine and longtubes from Kooks because nobody ever dyno tested higher hp than Kooks, but they will drag over speed bumps with a lowered Cobra.
Yes I dropped front k member. Honestly I made this video for people like me who wanted to know what ground clearance these headers would have. There will be a future video on my cobra we're I do a complete install video of Mac longtubes
Hey I just bought some MAC headers for my '04 Mach. Any chance you could upload that video? I didn't find it going through your videos....good video on this btw
Arturo Rodriguez. I never fully installed the jba and drove it. I returned them because I didn’t like the quality of the sealing flange at the head. The part we’re the gasket goes was welded by hand and it was very inconsistent, some thin spot some thick spots and I was worried I would just blow threw the gasket have a exhaust leak. They sent me a 2nd set with the same issue but worse so I sent them both back. Longtubes will be alot louder than Stock manifolds, on my cobra I will be installing KOOKS LT. If you’ve never heard the kooks or ARH they change the exhaust note to more of a LS engine scream and I love it.
Arturo Rodriguez. Stay tuned for more videos that I’m working on. 2.9 gen 3 whipple on the Mach 1 and 2.9 gen 2 whipple on the Cobra with e85 kits on both
Paul C I loved the BBK Long Tube headers. I ran BBK LT's with BBK Off-road H pipe and Magnaflow catback and my Mach 1 roared on a rev and carried a great idle tone. The new Mach 1 I have, I'm not sure what I'm going with though. Regardless of any header you buy, if its a long tube style, installation is a pain in the ass.
I might have misspoken. To install the headers the trans can stay installed but if the headers are installed and you need to remove the trans for whatever reason then with most longtubes or mid lengths you will have to remove the headers to remove the trans. Or at least loosen the headers for wiggle room
I just installed the bersani mids with the k member installed what a bitch it is so tight its ridiculous the gaskets design are horrible I've got a leak on the passenger seat side anyone else had these problems any advice?
+2004dsgmach1 ok good that's what ford dealer gave me am taking it wed so they can tear the car to take the header off and do it right am scared the might break the dipstick inside the block .. was your tube on super tight or just snug pretty easy to pull once u took the bolt off ? I was hopping to get it turned by St00pid fast this passed weekend but the installer fuck ed that up lol

2004dsgmach1 did you disconnect the motor from the body?
+Oliver had the engine supported from the top using a engine hoist that I bought for $60 at harbor frieght then I dropped the k member down
What was the poor quality?
@@emericask822 sealing flange was was very very thin in some spots.

What was the defect
reason I ask they installed my arh on my 04 cobra last week but they didn't remove my dipstick so it's pinched between the block and header flange
damn good vid bro
Thank you
Can you post a video of how your mid length headers sound
Arturo Rodriguez this car now has Mac longtubes. I have several new vids that I need to get out and exhaust sound is one.
Looks like you had to drop the front suspension to get it in there. Why didn't you should us that as well?
Yes I dropped front k member. Honestly I made this video for people like me who wanted to know what ground clearance these headers would have. There will be a future video on my cobra we're I do a complete install video of Mac longtubes

Sure thing, hope this helped
I see like all headers you will be baking your starter....
Wildbill Chappie no big deal

Is there a difference in sound between the Mid length headers and long tube headers which one do you like better

Sounds good brother thanks for replying
how did u make the tube clear the flange ? add a spacer on the bolt or did u bend it ?
No part 2? I've been looking at bbk LT. How do you like these?

Did you have to drop the k frame
Late replay. I had the k member removed but many say you can install without removing
Do you suggest dropping the motor in with the mid lengths installed if the motor is out?
It would be a pretty tight fit and with both so you may have to remove one side but I've never tried
I bet is a pita. Nice build bro.
Do u have to remove the k member to put mid lengths on?
Nick Crocker not with mid lengths at least not with these. Longtubes it’s a must
2004dsgmach1 thanks brother hopefully the bassani ones are the same as the jba
Nick Crocker no problem, let me know if you run into any snags or have any other questions
2004dsgmach1 sure will
I just installed the bersani mids with the k member installed what a bitch it is so tight its ridiculous the gaskets design are horrible I've got a leak on the passenger seat side anyone else had these problems any advice?
how hard was it to pull the dipstick out ?
Alan Garcia, it was a simple 1 bolt and pull. Very easy. BUT you might have to make a small change to the dipstick so it doesn't contact header.
+2004dsgmach1
I got a replacement dipstick and gasket kit do u remember if the oem gasket on driver side was a two pc ?
+Alan Garcia yes the driver side gasket is a 2 piece because of the dipstick.
Might be tricky to remove dipstick with headers installed to unpinch it
+2004dsgmach1

Very simple, remove the 8mm bolt and pull straight up. There is a. O ring seal at the bottom that you should replace
