a year behind chip for $1100 is not a good deal, and even the 8 inch one for $899 is $100-$200 to much. The 11 in one should be $899 at max, and the 8 in should be $699 if they were wanting to be more competitive.
I would pay 1099 for the latest and greatest. Screen and all. 32gb or more of ram. I am not going to pay 1099 for something I can get with an open box discount
Ngl everytime I see removable paddles I just see another point of possible failure, I wish they would drop the unnecessary gimmicks and focus on performance first, all the tat and fluff can come later down the line once these things are better perfected
Acer, Alienware, Hp Omen etc.. are late to the party and behind trying to catch up with 2021 designs and specs. Acers 11 inch model needs to be better (quite a few 10"+ handhelds on the market now) just copy the Steam Deck controller layout and feature standards. 4 x M buttons at the back 2 x Trackpads. ** 8 x N nubs top of the controller ought to be standard = 1~8 keyboard number keys. shift the controllers further to top like the Steam deck - dpad, facebuttons and sticks are horizontal to each other which allows more space below for trackpads. Go for actual cross "+" dpads, they are far better than the Xbox's circle dpads over the past 2 years. All high-end handheld PCs ought to start supporting full double-sided 8TB SSDs. Should allow users to upgrade the SSD to 8TBs down the road considering they're investing a lot of money into handheld PCs to last a few years.
You can get an rog ally x with more ram for $100 less than the new Acer 8. And lets be real the while the next Rog Ally and Lenovo Legion Go 2 will not be cheap by any means, but they will have the z2 extreme in them while the Acer handhelds are still a year behind. While I already decided on the legion go s with steam os with the older hardware, I know I'm getting a decent deal compared to these new handhelds from Acer.
You wanna know how dumb this is? One x player sells a device that is the same size, 11 inches, & it has the same chip & resolution & refresh rate, but it has 32 gigs of RAM, which is a big deal with handhelds, & it costs $870 lool. An upgraded version of this same exact device for more then $200 cheaper. One X Player is also getting ready to ship this device with the new chip, but this device with the new chip costs $1300. Ppl complaining that it doesn’t have that new chip don’t realize the cost of that chip. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
no next gen chip no oled and 55wh battery for 1100 is crazy💀
So its not just me over here scratching my head 😆
Same thoughts here.

Get ready for the heavy discounted acer portables in summer!

I'd rather stick with my Legion Go 😊

For that price you can get a Steam deck and an iPad
Everyone waiting z2x first handheld.
not even oled screen for this price ?
Nope doesn’t appear so. Add it all up and its hard to see it competing with newer Handhelds also coming out
