The funniest moment in Blue Lock is when a character (Itoshi Rin) realizes that he is not alone, that he has teammates and they have his back, and when he realizes this, his first thought is "Disgusting" and I fking burst out laughing.
Yea he wanted to be the sole player on the team to crush the U-20 and his elder brother Sae but I don't get why he called Isagi and the rest of his teammates disgusting for saving a goal.
@@PanelVulture yessss bro, Barou is such an annoyingly cool character and I like how Isagi still didn't totally "devour" him because they don't want to end his character like that
Haikyuu! is a good series for those who are fond of "I'm gonna be the best with the help of my friends" concept. While Blue Lock is straight up for those who likes the "I WILL be the best, screw everyone else" concept.
For people who experienced too much of the "Friendship is power" concept, Blue Lock is perfect and refreshing to watch. For people who experienced too much of the "Winning is all that matters" concept, Haikyuu is *probably* the better choice since it also is refreshing
It's not even about that, the dialogues between characters and the way they train to get better and the realism and the feeling of the sport haikyuu is way better in capturing these aspects and to me that's what actually matters in a sport anime/manga , I get that there are also people who tend to enjoy the competitive aspect that blue lock focuses on but at least make it a bit realistic, I was very disappointed when I read the first few chapters of blue lock because they made football look like something completely different from reality
i'm never joining an anime discord server again😑 Ps: In 6:53 there is a mistake in the editing, haikyuu is a 10 and blue lock a 6, the mistake was not made in the score calculation, you can check the google sheet in the description for more details
Do you wanna know if you wanna watch blue lock or Haikyuu ? Here is a short resume: Haikyuu: A well written classic of the genre. Well written relatable characters, realistic slice of life interactions, emotional development, power of friendship etc, etc, etc... Blue lock: HYPE MACHINE. THERE IS NO PLOT ONLY HYPE, HYPE, HYPE, HYPE. TRAINNING ARC ? NO MOTHERFUCK LET'S HAVE ANOTHER MATCH.
u forgot there is like alot of training arc in blue lock, beside the damn plot of the anime is just "IM GONNA BE THE VERY BEST, but first ima get some aim hacks"
The ignorance is real in these comments. If you can’t function as a team in Volleyball, then your never gonna experience a win cause the game is literally designed so that team work is essential to winning
What I like about Haikyuu is that it feels realistic. Like how on Karasunos team each player has their own fleshed out background and they also lose games, so you never know what's gonna happen next. In Blue Lock for some reason every 16yo kid is able to play like Messi on steroids, can score 3 goals within half a second and all that while only having played soccer for 3 weeks. Also I don't like how they yell out their moves as if it was a shounen ... for me it's abit over the top cringe. But I still watch it ^^
Well for me i only care about hype so blue lock was way better. It's in my top 10 fav mangas now. And no one scored 3 goals in half a second lol. I also don't remember any character screaming their moves. There are only monologues of isagi cuz unlike other sports series.... We don't have an audience sitting here who can somehow explain all the events going on in the volleyball court from 100 metres away. Hence isagi has to explain it by monologuing cuz he is present there. That's a long essay I wrote there. I don't blame you if you don't read it all
lol i love that paragraph about blue lock you wrote, no but seriously just HOW are 16-17 year olds able to compete with the best of the best? like, yeah sure, it’s hype and exciting but i love haikyuu more because it shows that training to get better takes time, in haikyuu Karasuno isn’t even the strongest team at the end of nationals in Hinatas first year and i love that, it still shows growth but it also shows that it takes time to get good and you gotta be patient. i just loved hinata’s trip to brazil and how much he learned there. plus, not all of the players become pro volleyball players. not becuz they can’t, but becuz they just picked a different career path. for me, the realism in haikyuu tops any hype in blue lock.
Babbling on thoughts: Haikyuu is a feel-good series, volleyball is very much a teamwork game, can't pass, set, and spike all by yourself (lol) Teamwork and growing to keep playing, loving volleyball as well just learning smth or growing from it and the people they've met. Volleyball players and fans resonate a lot with this series. It just is a beautiful slice of life sports manga and I will forever cry about it. Blue Lock on the other hand, had set itself from beginning that it'll be be about strikers and EGO. It got intense just from the first 2 chapters, or at least got a taste of how the series was gonna go... not a feel-good series like haikyuu, it'll crush the players lol but that doesn't mean it's bad, that's why I love it. But actual football fans may and have been put-off by the strikers only and ego standpoint. But that's what many new ppl have to get in their heads about Blue Lock, that the theme is EGO. There's a panel of Ego saying "Throw away your common sense." Which is what you kinda gotta do when reading Blue Lock. It obv won't follow the same things as other sports series. You can dribble and get by opponents and score by yourself. Yes 'teamwork' may be there, others abilities may be used, but only for the striker to not hesitate to score. Two different settings and charm. Having both is a good balance, the vid is obv about comparing them, but their differences are what I love about them and I can't compare ♡ that's just me though
Man I hate it when folk don't get football right. I admit, ego is a huge part of football, in fact every damn player has it, but there is more to it than just ego. True, Ego matters a lot if you want to participate in the first team in pro football, its just like the european academies, la masia for example, players have to fight their way into the first team, but then there is more to it than just ego, look at bojan krckic, fought his way into barca first team that too during their damn prime, and well? he fell off, because of anxiety, there is more than just ego. We talk about the drive of the players, their passion, their mental health, their wellbeing, its so many opportunities and so many concepts to explore, its such a complex sport compared to others, yet it looks so simple, its why i get pissed when a lot of tv shows, movies don't get it right, reality of football is never shown, its actually inspiring to see how a young kid rises to be one of the best footballers, there is a good concept, but when it comes to a good story, not many entertainment material has done well on that part. blue lock is the only one that made football sorta good, as well as ao ashi, but it aint it man.

i dont get why many people feel the need to compare which one is better, blue lock or haikyuu. they are both extremely different takes on sports. blue lock is very fast paced and has high stakes, althought the edgy dialogue sometimes a little too much for me. i like haikyuu because its much more grounded and engaging. i think blue lock is a lot more concept driven anime, while haikyuu is a lot more character driven. which gets me more emotionally invested, it just has moments that are so beautiful that you cant help but cry . blue lock i think solely relies on making you feel hyped or at the edge of your seats. although haikyuu does this a lot in the matches too
I have to disagree with the majority of your comment. In my opinion Blue Lock is character driven (in the sense that characters' dreams and the heights every one of them would reach to achieve them, especially how Isagi continues searching ways to evolve, is the main focus and driving point of the manga) and good at engaging the readers (still remember I thought I would have a heart attack during the U-20 match). I believe Blue Lock has a lot of cathartic and heartfelt moments, Chigiri running with all his might while being aware that he could be ruining his knee forever is the first one that comes to mind, Bachira and his monster, Rin's backstory, etc etc. (But at the same time I believe not every piece of media has to be grounded or emotional for it to be soooo fun to read and to be a solid manga. It just means we have different tastes ig) I also love Haikyuu, but I think you might be taking some merit from Blue Lock in things it actually manages to do. (Of course Haikyuu it's still superior in the things you mentioned) Ps: lol I personally love the dialogue bc it cracks me up but I'm sure some of it is way less "edgy" in Japanese
I wanted blue lock to surpass haikyuu as I have been told that it had good pacing and a refreshing message to tell. But as I read up to the latest chapters, I didn't get that...? Like I was excited because fans were hyping this up to be very different from haikyuu and it definitely is, just not what I expected. It basically encourages athletes to be more individualistic in their plays and I like that it's just....and? Idk I liked where it was going but after a while I grew tired of it since the message of the story has already been said so do I have to read this up to the end just to be taught the same thing again and again? It's also... if people have only been watching haikyuu s1-3, it's easy to misunderstand that it focuses on one lesson only: teamwork and forging bonds is important to meet our goals, when, really, what makes haikyuu great is that it doesn't get stuck on that one perspective only. Inarizaki, Hinata's whole character development, Miya twins, Hirugami, and Noya are one of the characters that remind athletes or every goal oriented person that favoring oneself or being more selfish is okay. So yeah. Enjoyed reading Blue Lock. Wished it was actually great.
they’re just two different writing styles. Blue Lock is more of a battle shonen than a sports anime. the only philosophy is “focus on your ego” and every other lesson in the series is related to soccer and soccer strategies surrounding that. Haikyu presents multiple philosophies throughout the series but the plays never get as layered or crazy as Blue Lock because that’s not the SOLE focus. not to mention every character plays the same role
For me, blue lock is about personal improvement. Its dialogue about challenge-centered flow and its depiction of struggle hit me way harder than haikyuu. I read about 200 chapters of each and I can say personally I was more moved by the story of blue lock than haikyuu edit: I never thought I would need to clarify this. I said about 200, not exactly 200, not 200, about 200. when I commented it is 25 chapters from 200, that was close enough for me.
I have a lot of bias as to why I prefer haikyuu over blue lock. As a volleyball player myself I look at haikyuu and I see relatability and realism (for the most part) as I connect my own real-world experiences with the events in haikyuu. Blue lock has players in it that are meant to be the best of the best and its every player for themselves. I can see how that can be appealing to a lot of people and some people might not really care for the bond building and dynamics between teammates learning to work together to become something bigger than themselves. like even just writing that I'm like omg that's so cliche. but because of the realistic setting of the show, I can immerse myself better into the story, and I can relate to a lot more of the characters because a lot of them are just average players with so much love and passion for the sport like me. not all of them have special talents or unattainable abilities and so it's very easy for me to see myself in more ways than one in many of the characters because the story takes me through their progression into players that can help the team overall improve while also showing their love of volleyball grow. Just being shown intensity and hypeness all the time doesn't appeal to me if I have no care for what's happening to the characters or any emotions they may be feeling
watch blue lock please, i am not asking this in a fanboy manner, it's because i thought the exact same thing until i really watched it and i think you should as well, it's an amazing experience not at all as you described, even if it looks like it is.
I don't know about this one... When a training camp can give you as much hype and emotion as a match, that says something and haikyuu did it. From S2 training camp to shiratorizawa match, that whole thing was just crazy. As blue lock anime is coming out soon, I haven't checked out the manga. But if it's match after match, I would probably like it but not love it.
@@kaiber0390 Yes n No... They are calling it a training facility but if they don't win or keep doing great, they are removed from it. So it's really a tournament going on in disguise. When I wrote that comment, I said I didn't watch or read blue lock..Now after 6 ep of it, I can say that it's great but much of it comes from art & design which is incredible. Last 4 ep has been just matches after matches and if it keeps going on, it can get kinda tiring.
The pacing is by far the best thing about Bluelock, every single episode has the characters competing non-stop against each other, I'm not a big fan of filler ESPECIALLY if I'm watching every episode weekly and I am beyond glad they have a post-credits scene where the characters socialize a bit in every episode
Haikyuu doesn't have filler and they also have episodes where they socialize. I would argue the pacing during matches is better in haikyuu. Overall blue lock does have better pacing tho

In my opinion Blue Lock is great but the whole biggest ego thing bothers me because there is a good kind of ego and a bad kind of ego and I feel blue lock is going to the bad ego as I believe Blue Lock in a nutshell is “be a horrible and cynical person and you’ll be great”. As for Haikyuu it does focus on team development but doesn’t shy away from individual development as for most of the beginning of Haikyuu to the top it’s Hinata learning that there’s more to volleyball than he thought. In the end I feel Haikyuu is the undisputed best sports anime
I absolutely adore and love both series. Haikyuu for being the epitome of a traditional sports manga, Blue Lock for being the exact opposite 🤭 As you said in the video, there's a formula to sports anime. Friendship, working hard together, bonds, making memories together, that kind of stuff is my jam and that's why I love how Haikyuu polished that formula to perfection. But it can get stale if you've seen it a million times, and Blue Lock takes all of that and throws it in the trash right out of the gate. It works so well in part BECAUSE it fills that craving of everyone who got a bit sick of the overly sweet "let's all be such nice, good friends and get a participation trophy!" mentality that is quite common in other sports anime. I think it works best for people who are familiar with the oversaturation in the current state of sports manga/anime. It's kinda like how Madoka Magica and Neon Genesis Evangelion are enjoyable on their own, but their full potency is linked to people being familiar with the state magical girl and mecha anime were in before those works came out. They weren't just cool, edgy, mildly thoughtful shows, they were the first major break form an established formula in their medium. And that's how I view Blue Lock for sports manga/anime.
for me it is nice there is another football sports manga that will be better than the other football themed sports manga's we haven't had a football sports manga that will really stand-out that much since captain tsubasa, sure there were some that were close but didn't make the cut, and as someone who plays football i' am happy, and also just as any sports anime/manga i respect haikyuu, but let us be real haikyuu has finished except for the anime i don't know if they will finish animate it up to the last chapter, but blue lock is now going to lead sports manga for now just as what haikyuu did after koruko no baket finished their run, and i hope that there will be more amazing sports manga to be made in the future and be animated after blue lock finishes their time.

I played a shit ton of sports in my life, and without a doubt, football is one where teamwork plays the most fundamental role. You see this all the time, seemingly underdog teams sweeping the table and defying every expectation, and on the other hand, supposed talents switching to other teams and flopping miserably. It is genuinely frustrating to read a manga that voluntarily decides to completely skip out on the most fundamental aspect of the game. Which is where it fails miserably in almost every single chapter, it wants to be a grounded sports manga, but absolutely does not take the sport seriously, or at least does an awful job at depicting what football actually is like. Of the many things wrong with it, some of them are: It heavily suffers from the anime trend of "oh MUAHHAHHAH, I HAD A PLAN ALL ALONG" which happens literally every ten seconds, and usually with stuff like of "oh no, is that....A COUNTERATTACK?!?!?! WHO COULD HAVE PREDICTED THAT", which is of course a really fucking dumb thing to say for the 300 best talents in Japan since it's literally what happens after every single attack is broken in football. The worst and most hilarious thing I encountered so far is set up around the second match. Basically, all the players are divided into teams and just have to play each other to rise up the rankings (while starving the ones that are low obv, because what makes for a better training regimen than a diet poor of nutrients obv). So we follow the team of our main protagonist and they start talking about their best attributes, but the way they frame it and act on it literally makes it sound like it's a special ability, like they call it a FUCKING WEAPON. For example, there is this guy whose body "has spring-like properties"(insert it has the property of both rubber and gum joke here), or the protagonist, WHO CAN LITERALLY SMELL GOALS. Nope, he does not have a high football IQ, his BODY LITERALLY ACTS ON HIS OWN and he's like "oh woooh, what is happening, why am I doing this". The concept of weapon is by far the dumbest thing I have ever encountered in any sports manga and it takes up a big part of this whole story. I grew up watching Inazuma Eleven, and I fucking love that shit. You got people shooting tornado of fires from their kicks, and you cannot possibly take it seriously so it becomes a completely different thing, its own thing. But this manga wants to make it about realistic football, and it fails miserably. A guy that played the game since he was an infant but still behaves like it's his first match every time anyone does anything that has not been SPECIFICALLY mentioned before with very SPECIFIC keywords that mean very SPECIFIC concepts (such as, having spacial awareness is not the same thing as being good at passing with someone, that require a certain weapon called "eye contact" that only certain players have, or the fact that at one point mc needs to improve his stamina, so he starts a "secret training routine" WHICH IS LITERALLY JUST RUNNING AT NIGHT. DUDE, YOU HAVE BEEN TRAINING THE WHOLE FUCKING DAY ALREADY, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU DO THE MOST WHEN TRAINING, FUCKING RUNNING). There are too many things I'd like to make fun of, like the fact that in this whole fucking place there isn't A SINGLE ADULT ACTUALLY COACHING THEM since ya know, they are fucking inexperienced 17 years old, shouldn't that be the point of this whole thing? But all they get is some video messages of the creepy dude that set these whole things up at the end of every game, framing what happens as his genius mastermind way to improve football by taking away 3/4 of the roles. I remember this chapter in which a player, whose "weapon" is dribbling, runs through the whole field and scores by himself, and the mc goes, "Oh wow, he applied his weapon to make it a goal formula so now he unlocked another weapon". BITCH, THIS HAS LITERALLY BEEN THE POINT OF THE ENTIRE GAME FROM THE START OF TIME. This is what I mean when I say that they use words just to fill gaps on the page, without actually using their meaning or saying anything conceptually relevant at all. And this happens literally all the time. This manga is about football just as much as Dragon Ball is about martial arts, but we don't get to see any cool shit, only have to suffer through painfully unrealistic depictions of what real football is. It just disappointed me so much and I genuinely do not fucking understand how it has such a high score on My Anime List when it's a 5/6 at best, this high only because there are a few gorgeous double pages spreads. I am assuming that the vast majority of people reading are Japanese and Americans with no idea about how football actually works and are there just to thirst on shirtless kids, which is okay, we have all been 15 and horny. But be honest with yourself then. Don't pretend it's not about that. It's not good, it's not realistic, and it's not about football.
I feel trying to compare Haikyuu and Blue Lock is just fundamentally wrong. While Haikyuu might be a bit unrealistic (fkin shrip jumping more than double his height), the way it's portrayed seems real. Blue Lock just comes up straight at you with fkin Ego's and shit, and a Squid Game like concept.

I am not a soccer fan whatsoever, but I absolutely adore Blue Lock. However, I don't think it will ever be able to top Haikyuu for me. Haikyuu just feels more grounded, character driven and emotional compared to the latter, and no anime can get me as hyped and emotional as Haikyuu. Blue Lock is sick asf tho
I have read the entirety of the Haikyuu manga and caught up with Blue Lock’s, and I love them both. But I have to disagree with people representing Haikyuu as a “power of friendship” and “dreamwork is teamwork” anime. While I can see where this comes from and agree that teamwork is an aspect of Haikyuu (also due to the mere nature of volleyball as compared to soccer), to me HK shares a lot of the same themes as blue lock, to the point where I see story beats that are almost identical. Evolution and rivalry are absolutely essential to improvement in both series (for haikyuu it is most prevalent in the 4th season and manga), but I find Haikyuu to be more realistic in its approach, and something I can resonate more with as an athlete. But I’m not saying being realistic automatically makes Haikyuu better, in fact I find a lot of merit Blue Lock’s rapid/borderline superhuman evolution, and I am looking forward to where it goes.

It's 2022 yet the fact that some still call haikyuu a cliche baffles me. Warning: Spoilers. Haikyuu has a fairly popular trope, but what makes it good is how the author handled the trope. Hinata didn't win with the power of friendship, a team didn't win just because they had intense flashback moments, everyone is the main character in their pov (Bokuto, Hinata, Oikawa,...) the diversity of characters and their dreams and passions. It's so realistic. While Blue Lock chooses a different trope, the edgy dialogue can come off a a little bit cringe. Also, it doesn't appeal to football fans that much (considering how they turned the sport into a selfish, edgy battle). Blue Lock is cool, and i like it, just stop shitting on Haikyuu to compliment Blue Lock when they went into different directions

Well you are right about Blue Lock being unrealistic but what highschoolers doing in Haikyuu is not real at all. They are playing volleyball in very high level and there is no to little highschoolers like that. Someone jumping as high as Hinata or passing as accurately as Kageyama is not really possible to a highschooler. There are people like that but very rare and it is not possible that all of them are in Japan lol.

thoughts : I think the advantage haikyuu had was that it IS cliche. Cliche in a way where it's literally every sports anime/manga's setting, high school theme, teamwork, the nobody to somebody, and etc. But that's exactly why the author had way more freedom to work with the character depth and story depth, which, if i may add, what got us all hooked on it in the first place. Whereas in blue lock, the thing that got everybody hooked is the unique and badass setting. A "deathmatch" involving soccer? hell yea, the egoism needed to be the best striker + the whole elimination concept? fresh. But it's also BECAUSE it's a unique and new setting, that the author has to be careful not to get lost. Kind of like the promised neverland, where we all felt the downhill after the third or so arc. of course, I'm saying that only because I've read the manga til the latest one and recognized a pretty bad pattern where sometimes it feels like the MC only gets better during the end of every match, reverting back to not being able to do anything and/or falling behind his teammates til the last minute. (though this one might just be me) But in conclusion, haikyuu and blue lock are VERY good in their own way. Despite the difference in theme and concept, they're definitely going to rule the sports genre together. But since blue lock is still ongoing, let's see where the author takes us shall we?
Nah I watch haikyuu from seasons 1 to 5, Reading the manga feels different tho, but still, haikyuu is overrated at least for me, why? I mean their character development feels so forced, the senior who 3 years cannot win or do anything is literally bullshit, they act so mighty, and respect your senior, b*tch where are you in 3 years? and what's wrong with the ace, they never win but when Hinata wants to get the ace position, Ace talks "it's my Ball", yeah it's your ball but where are you? in 3 years? and what's wrong with "Karasuno's Guardian Deity" where the f**k they get that name? I mean why you can get that name when you not even guarding your positions right, why you can't even win when you get that title, it's literally big bullshit. and I don't like they forced the guy who is always on the bench, he like can't do anything but when everyone courage him, feels like he can do anything. bruh...I never dislike anime so much like this...honestly tho the main interesting for me is Hinata and Tobio, they literally big spotlight for this anime, Give 7 for mc, 4.5 for the story, and the animations are a big 8.
Alright might get a lot of hate for this but I don't like Isagi as the protagonist at all, he feels like a passive narrator with author pumping his ass up at the very last moment so he can steal o all credit. It's always like the whole match he is narrating, and then he chooses a prey that he needs to "devor" and then become a puzzle man narrator for the whole match until like the final moments he will discover a piece then add it to his existing formula and BOOM here cones the protagonist. I liked the growth of other characters more for eg. lets take nagi, unable to create on his own a genius and amazing talent yet brain-dead when it comes to creativity so he depends on other, Chris prince tells him a new way, tries and fails but he really wants to beat Isagi so he reverts to his older way of getting creative help. Even though he failed to create a whole new style, I liked the growth here, from trying to build muscles for better use of his body and shows something new everytime, feels more refreshing to watch and a lot more unpredictable, while you know with Isagi its always vision x direct shot and vision is the parameter that always get upgraded, so bloody fkin predictable.
@@blueirondragon8059 sure but nagi, rin and other are basically have the same concept, flashy style improvment. While isagi improve with his own way that nobody ever done in this series. Thats why he fit to be the main character.
Lets be honest haikyuu may have more feels and is more wholesome and is at the peak of high school sports anime/manga...but blue lock just has waayyyyy more hype moments I mean literally the whole manga is hype from start uptill now you just can't stop reading it. And also Isagi as a character is way more interesting and fun to watch than Hinata. But blue lock is not ur typical high school manga so u can't compare it to haikyuu they're both their own things and I love both🔥🔥

Dude your editing style is good. Scripting also engaging, humor guud, topic relevant which is good. And for a anime/funny video pacing is hard in a general video but you got that cherry on top pacing. Thumbnail is mid but not very good. I can see a lot of effort put into this video. But if im going to rate it its 10/6.3 (this vid and your channel looks like an 1 hit wonder, thumbnail, editing could be better, voice over ) Make sure you produce this type of high quality content fast and more. overall 1mil sub easy for u
Imagine a sports anime who did all of those cliches in reverse. There is only a 2nd and 1st years (kuroko no basket did this but they had Kiyoshi as their psudo third year). They win the spring tournament. Main character is average as hell or is leagues above the other team
as a fan of sports anime, blue lock is definitely a bastardization of it. where instead of teamwork, egos are more important. it doesn't matter if you win, what matters is you becoming the hero. it's more of a battle anime than a sports one, it just happens that football is the main device used to tell the story. that's the beauty of it imo.
I mean there's teamwork in Blue lock as well and I never felt like it wasn't a teamwork type anime. The main characters work together and feed off eachother play all the time from what I've read so far from the Manga. There's just a certain emphasis on individual talent and drive in blue lock that isn't as present in Haikyuu. I don't either side is more correct in its depiction of sports, they just back depict radically different points of focus. It's hard to argue that teamwork isn't essential in any sport. Just like it would be hard to argue that individual drive propels players to heights never seen. Almost all the best players in the world at any sport really have a competitive drive and love for what they do. So I think both are equally good representation of sports in general. Granted blue lock is much more dramatic.
@@Shinobu968 yes, although the ego is in the first place,we can see team work and some kind of friendship(when they are out of the game, but they are all mostly tsundere/crazy friendship, when isagi did find normal friends,I was like amen),but I agree with the other man that it looks more like a battle shonen than a sports anime, this doesn't mean that the manga is bad,is just nice to see someone mixing genres.

You can't really compare Blue Lock and Haikyuu with each other, because the only thing they have in common is, its a sportsanime. Haikyuu was made to be realistic. Blue Lock was made to let Dragonball Characters play football and the mentality of Blue Lock really has nothing to do with real football. You can not say Haikyuu is better or Blue Lock is better, because both animes are having a different style and a different meaning. You can learn volleyball with watching Haikyuu, but you will never ever be able to understand football with watching Blue Lock.
The only reason I don't like Blue Lock is that it's just too unrealistic. It's cool and all but it just doesn't completely connect with people who actually know about football.
The funniest moment in Blue Lock is when a character (Itoshi Rin) realizes that he is not alone, that he has teammates and they have his back, and when he realizes this, his first thought is "Disgusting" and I fking burst out laughing.

Do you wanna know if you wanna watch blue lock or Haikyuu ? Here is a short resume:
Haikyuu: A well written classic of the genre.
You explained this better than me XD
Man no one can define it more better
Ye they go like 1 to 10 them from 10 to 100000 in every chapter
u forgot there is like alot of training arc in blue lock, beside the damn plot of the anime is just "IM GONNA BE THE VERY BEST, but first ima get some aim hacks"
but the good thing is that every game they train its like dbz but better i love how they don't go with all the shonen and get straight to the point
Not people calling a sport that can't function without teammates a "power of friendship" trope.
But I still watch it ^^
Hahaha your referring to Nagi😂the plot armor god
One of the reason why I stopped watching blue lock. Also the whole eyes turning into white circles was a bit bringe for me.😅
@@RinSolos_ nagi? Bruh when did he have plot armour?
Babbling on thoughts:
Haikyuu is a feel-good series, volleyball is very much a teamwork game, can't pass, set, and spike all by yourself (lol) Teamwork and growing to keep playing, loving volleyball as well just learning smth or growing from it and the people they've met.
Just don't turn to the fandom okay?

Man I hate it when folk don't get football right. I admit, ego is a huge part of football, in fact every damn player has it, but there is more to it than just ego. True, Ego matters a lot if you want to participate in the first team in pro football, its just like the european academies, la masia for example, players have to fight their way into the first team, but then there is more to it than just ego, look at bojan krckic, fought his way into barca first team that too during their damn prime, and well? he fell off, because of anxiety, there is more than just ego.
We talk about the drive of the players, their passion, their mental health, their wellbeing, its so many opportunities and so many concepts to explore, its such a complex sport compared to others, yet it looks so simple, its why i get pissed when a lot of tv shows, movies don't get it right, reality of football is never shown, its actually inspiring to see how a young kid rises to be one of the best footballers, there is a good concept, but when it comes to a good story, not many entertainment material has done well on that part.

i dont get why many people feel the need to compare which one is better, blue lock or haikyuu. they are both extremely different takes on sports. blue lock is very fast paced and has high stakes, althought the edgy dialogue sometimes a little too much for me. i like haikyuu because its much more grounded and engaging. i think blue lock is a lot more concept driven anime, while haikyuu is a lot more character driven. which gets me more emotionally invested, it just has moments that are so beautiful that you cant help but cry . blue lock i think solely relies on making you feel hyped or at the edge of your seats. although haikyuu does this a lot in the matches too
Him: "I don't know why people compare..."
Also him: proceed to compare.
I dont get why people feel need to compare them
I have to disagree with the majority of your comment.
It just means we have different tastes ig)
I also love Haikyuu, but I think you might be taking some merit from Blue Lock in things it actually manages to do. (Of course Haikyuu it's still superior in the things you mentioned)
Ps: lol I personally love the dialogue bc it cracks me up but I'm sure some of it is way less "edgy" in Japanese
Let's talk about fandoms
Who's cringer or more toxier ?

You basically said what was on my mind better than I could've said it
I wanted blue lock to surpass haikyuu as I have been told that it had good pacing and a refreshing message to tell.
@@mamba7160 I get that actually. It's the same with knb.

Haikyuu for being the epitome of a traditional sports manga, Blue Lock for being the exact opposite 🤭
As you said in the video, there's a formula to sports anime.

Of the many things wrong with it, some of them are:
It heavily suffers from the anime trend of "oh MUAHHAHHAH, I HAD A PLAN ALL ALONG" which happens literally every ten seconds, and usually with stuff like of "oh no, is that....A COUNTERATTACK?!?!?!

I genuinely hope blue lock is better than haikyuu for my self-interest. A haikyuu caliber or superior sports anime is a dream. Still, for now, I watched 13 eps of blue lock and didn't see anything better than haikyuu, it's more like kuroko no basket which is fun as hell and i am glad its airing, but is it really better than haikyuu or maybe the question is, will it be better than haikyuu in the upcoming eps or seasons??
I am not a soccer fan whatsoever, but I absolutely adore Blue Lock. However, I don't think it will ever be able to top Haikyuu for me. Haikyuu just feels more grounded, character driven and emotional compared to the latter, and no anime can get me as hyped and emotional as Haikyuu. Blue Lock is sick asf tho
i think i just found my new best anituber, love your vids annd sense of humor
But I’m not saying being realistic automatically makes Haikyuu better, in fact I find a lot of merit Blue Lock’s rapid/borderline superhuman evolution, and I am looking forward to where it goes.
interesting

Sorry but Haikyuu is still the best sports anime/manga. It transcends beyond anime, it made volleyball, the sport itself even famous. I do admit it uses some generic cliches but the execution of it is very good and the life lessons it instills. Compared to blue lock, soccer in itself is famous already. Characters and dialogues are edgy and meh. Art is the saving grace tho of the series
True...bcoz its volleyball😑.. that's y it can become more famous....football is already no1 sports in the world..so whatever content about football....its not gonna people more hate/liking it..coz no matter what..its the best sports ever that doesn't need an anime to make it more famous😅😅
@@megatafnan1984 thats why I said that haikyuu as an anime is revolutionary on its own. It's a game changer. I doubt someone would play soccer/football out of blue lock. Dude your commentary is awesome
Blue Lock is cool, and i like it, just stop shitting on Haikyuu to compliment Blue Lock when they went into different directions
bro , do you take the whole football community as one person ? lol. also why do you want to discredit football or its fans just beacuse you dont like a manga based on it.
@@rustyastronaut3118 i have never discredit football and its fans, of course not every football player is going to hate it however i've seen a lot of people disliking the unrealistic factors of the series, and many of them are football players. @@kaijoe111 I have read that. It's nothing special. Super unrealistic. If you are a fan of real sports then you know that haikyuu is better
So Underrated!! Your explanation of Blue lock is insane
thoughts :
I think the advantage haikyuu had was that it IS cliche.
(though this one might just be me)
But in conclusion, haikyuu and blue lock are VERY good in their own way. Despite the difference in theme and concept, they're definitely going to rule the sports genre together. But since blue lock is still ongoing, let's see where the author takes us shall we?
I agree, I’ve noticed that Isagi’s improvement tends to get predictable. I also love both and can’t wait to see where BL’s author takes us.
Bro your editing is enamoring.

You know Cristiano Ronaldo. His EGO is all over the news right now.
