Cat naming their machinery like lego sets
I know this is an amazing piece of equipment. It started life as a Bucyrus.
Bucyrus is a subsidiary of Caterpillar.
It is essentially a Bucyrus machine with a Caterpillar badge. Seems to be a common theme in the mining and construction industry where equipment started life as one thing only to be repainted as another.
CAT is good at buying up their competition. They always pushed mechanical haul trucks even the electric drive trucks ran circles around them. Then they bought Unit Rig.
Very comfortable machine to operate. Love it.
I shouldve taken the offer to tour the facility in Wisconsin where these were built back in college. Decided to stay back at the school and finish my welding. Kind of regretting not seeing these built on the line.
I operate this shovel every day and enjoy it. It can move a lot of dirt in a short time.
I'm jealous, your a lucky man having such an awesome job 👌
@@mikethatguy27 Thanks. It is a great job. Very appreciative.
If I built it there would be some parts left over... “Lets take it apart and see where these go!”
I will be contacting MY local Cat dealer for more information! That slight mound of dirt in my yard will be no more once I buy one of these! I'm sold!
Saw a listing for a 2013 initial bid @ $12.5M. If it's not that big, maybe a pre-owned is the way to go.
You need bigger sandbox..
It's a beast of a machine.
Yeah! It is a privilege to be part a such team. Congratulations!
Nice big toy. A block of flats on tracks
amazing giant!!
Este si que fue un gran rompecabezas,no como los que conozco...!!!😮😮😮👍👏👏👏👌
Gut gemacht 👍!
Looks like a nice remodeling tool to be used in the neighborhood
That's colossal🔝
Just amazing!
This would have made a nice 45+ minute video with a narrator.
Just as long as the narration didn't include unnecessary "drama".
@@markfryer9880 Whuddya think this is, the History channel?
"Everyone, stick out your foot in front of the tread. Last one to 'pull back' WINS~!"
I wish I took the tour of the facility where these are built in South Milwaukee 10 years ago in college.
^^^ His ^^^ "little brother" is hangin' across from Miller Park. Rides are "A Buck a Minute" on family day.
(Presidents get to play "Zoom~! Zoom~! " free, in exchange for rides on Air Force One.
Peru is so beautiful
Mind Blowing
Just be glad the didn't get the Ikea one, you get that heap of stuff and one lousy Allen wrench to assemble it all.
Cat. What we can't build ourselves we will buy and put our logo on.
^an entry level ex-welder of bucyrus.
I dig it.
good made
Is this machin at Cat designed one or an Bucyrus ou O&K one?
Just like what I use to build with an erector set when I was a little kid.
So big !!! o.o
Nice
How many of these have been built in the United States during the same time period?
Hi generationll. Thanks for your question! We're working to get you in contact with the right person at Caterpillar, and we'll follow up with you soon. - Rachel
Could the assembly video be any shorter for such a giant.speed the video up
This is a little one compared to the Draglines used by Peabody Coal
Ahh heck-you have to assemble it-not for planting bulbs in your garden-cool monster excavator!
85000 tons of dirt in a 12 hour shift. 👍
It is impossible 85000 ton!
@@shahramrazaghi7568 It is possible.👍
@@terrymcgillicuddy8056 you right, ok it is possible. 7000 ton per hour. Your shift is 12 hours?
@@shahramrazaghi7568 Yes that's right. Under 3 min load time, with average of 370 tons per truck. 235 trucks per shift. That's in the best of digging conditions. Doesn't happen often.
Get two, they're cheap.
Send this aswell to fiji
"In Your Grocer's 'Petite Shovels' Section"
you should have shown it working
CAT POWER 💪
"Minor Assembly Required"
"Batteries Not Included"
I wonder if I put some sand in that bucket if my cats would use it as a litter box? Then when it's time to clean it out, I just start it up and dump it in my neighbor's yard. I'm thinking this might be a good purchase. Now where did I put my wallet.....
All that and I don't get a look in side cab, what about a test drive around the pit.
"Sure, I can pick up that egg in the bucket without breaking it. "Hold My Beer And Watch This...'"
When I first started working in machine shops back in the mid 80's, an old timer bet me $20 that he could pick up a dime off the floor with a forklift. I went without lunch that day.
Oi e u gosto muito de escavadeira
how much does that thing cost to operate daily ???
Thank you for your inquiry. Daily operating costs can vary based on many factors, including shovel and application. To get complete information have a local dealer contact you here: www.cat.com/en_US/by-industry/mining/dealer-contact.html?. - Elias
Slow down dammit.
Why not just drive it down the road from the Cat dealership? Lol

Caterpillar has a terrible worker safety record. A man just fell into molten steel.
The slight zooming on on every slide makes this unwatchable. I tried but only made it halfway through.
I was going to complain about the useless audio track too but at least you can mute that.

no wonder why caterpillar dont need aluminum on the machine...
aluminum is a better and light weight / easily than steel = heavy weight
Junk
Are these nuclear-powered? There's NO WAY that you could run it with deisel fuel. Think of how much a full tank of gas would cost--not to mention the low gas mileage! No, they must run on something other than deisel or gasoline.
Their electric
@@royamero7398 Ah, I see! Do they use Tesla batteries? Are the batteries charged with non-polluting solar power? I hope so.
@@GregoryTheGr8ster The generators that run these are diesel. Essentially emergency backup generators on a trailer. Large power cable pushing 7200 Volts and 2575 kW from the generator to the rope shovel. Youd need one hell of a solar/wind turbine field. But neither would be useful part of the time to run these 24/7.
@@GregoryTheGr8ster no,, power cables are laid across the ground to get power to them, like a giant extention cord.
@@Ratkill9000 the ones I worked on only used the truck mounted generators to walk them, when they were moved significant distances. They had power cables laid across the ground to bring power to them from the electric power lines when digging.
Wow amazing most biggest "caterpillar" 🦾🦾
