That is one very slow shovel.... a P&H4100XPC would eat it. I have many years experience on shovels, and that Cat, or to give it it's previous title Bucyrus, would be frustrating to operate.

It's been rumored that CAT may build 1 machine like the Captain or Silver Spade. Nothing confirmed yet. It would be in their best interest. They got a giant dragline. Plus it would be CAT really putting their engineering skills to the test.

Those shovels are electric. They usually have large electric line running to them, basically a power cord like your vacuum cleaner.

Watching that cat operator is simply just painful .... he wouldn’t last 10min on any one of our sites! Just a waste of diesel.
