Hey, I'm still experimenting with growing onions in Trinidad. I have not been very successful so far but the issue has mainly been sourcing the right bulbs/seeds for our location near the equator.
You are such an encouragements and inspiration as your videos come across as real and truthful, I do hot feel bad about my failures so I try again , I am grateful you show real results
Very helpful and informative video. Now planting a carrot top would give you foliage and no carrot but would it flower and give you seeds, because seeds are becoming scarce and expensive.
Hi! Yes, the tops will flower and produce seeds. You might just want to take into account that if the carrot was a hybrid (which if you bought it as opposed to having grown it, it would be) the seeds would not produce the same type of carrot but you can try growing them all the same! And yes seeds are getting difficult right now!
Thank you for this video. I sowed a Carnival blend and Little Finger carrots. They are seedlings now but I didn't know that they don't need full sun all day. Will be moving the containers elsewhere tomorrow to give it morning sun alone.
That's great to hear! Yes I wish we had the right climate to give them full sun but we just don't so we do have to adapt to our situation here in Trinidad.
Thank you sir! Love this video. You make it look so simple. we don't have to fee like a failure if it don't work the first time 😆, because it happened to you & you did not give up. 🤔 I will try this.
Great video. Very extensive, thorough and easy to follow. Hope we can all get through like you did, but if we don't the first time we know to persevere just like you 🙂
It is a possibility however the debris from the wood compost is completely broken down organic matter that just happens to be in a chunk. Rather than provide resistance to the roots they help maintain air flow in the soil and are easily pushed aside.
Soooop glad I found a Trini doing gardening
Thank you for watching! Happy gardening!

Would the debris in the soil/compost cause the carrots to fork?
It is a possibility however the debris from the wood compost is completely broken down organic matter that just happens to be in a chunk. Rather than provide resistance to the roots they help maintain air flow in the soil and are easily pushed aside.
Great video packed with knowledge. I certainly want to try.
Cant wait to see the pics!
Thank you for these great tips.
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching!
Can't wait to see more of your carrots 😊 Great tips 👏🏼🌱
Thank you!
Can I use compost tea? If so how often.
Once every 3 weeks is fine. It wont burn your plants so you can use as often as you want.
