    Very good video. I have never understood how these scales work until today. Thanks for an easy to understand, short, sweet, to the point video without extras that are not needed, (music, etc.).

    Millimeters are much easier to understand for me on this caliper, and this video helped a lot! I'm starting a quality assurance job that is going to require constant caliper use so this was so important, thank you!!!

    What if the caliper happens to have 25 parts not 10, is it the same procedure?.. i cant send a picture

    • @duckgod666
      @duckgod666 3 роки тому +1

      Same as the ones in the lower part of your caliper,but the main scale is metric

    • @planesimple8514
      @planesimple8514  3 роки тому

      Hello Cris, it should be the same procedure. Read as much as you can from the main scale, only then look at the vernier scale to further divide the smallest division that you can read from the main scale and see how far into it you are. In other words, remember that the function of the vernier scale is to "zoom in" on the smallest division of the main scale and read it. Whatever the vernier reading is, is the last digit of your total reading.
      I hope that makes sense and was helpful.

    How many millimeters does the vernier caliber indicate?

    • @planesimple8514
      @planesimple8514  3 роки тому

      Hello tanvir tit, the one I was using in the video had s span of about 150mm. Although this is a very common size, there are different sizes, they are not all the same length. There's shorter ones and longer ones. The size of the caliper depends on what the application is and the size of what you are trying to measure. I hope this answers your question and thanks for watching my video.
