This is honestly the only band worth seeing on the Warped Tour. Only reason I'm going!
I'm going for Protomen and I Fight Dragons.
The nerd bands...
There better not be any scheduling conflicts between the two in Montreal.
I'm seeing them on the 28th in WA. First concert for my boyfriend. My first time seeing them.
Less Than Jake and Emilie Autumn are cool too. Every other band was just some shitty fucking emo joke. They all sound pretty much the same, too.
I've been to a few shows and in all honesty the Protomen are best at grungy dives and small local concert venues. Not because they don't deserve a large audience because they really do, but because the entire act is presented as an underground resistance rally and having it be like 10-11pm and in a hole in the wall venue really adds to the mystique and overall aesthetic.
i remember one of the first times i saw them was in a little place... they blew the breakers twice in the first song ... they ended up killing most the lights and the ac just to do the show. it was dark it was hot it was loud it was intimate ... so good
This is kinda meta when you think about it. The audience is just like the crowd in the actual song, completely apathetic about Protoman's demise. Just like the people of Wily's dystopia, this crowd doesn't deserve their hero.
I'm loving all the scene kids getting gross out, and not understanding this.
Oh SHIT a band that plays Mega Man-based music. I'm sold.
Also try The Megas if you want more Megaman based rock music :D
(I found myself in the crowd. :D )
They did an amazing job! So glad I got there in time.
So excited to see this band! One of the only few great bands worth seeing at Warped this year!
Oh my god these guys have such great performing skills! It's something unique and interesting compared to the massive amount of post-hardcore pop-punk that they've got dominating the event. They set the audience in a scene and it really brings the performance to life.
They have a really fun stage presence. Towards the end I felt like I was being inducted into a secret Nerd occult group. Pretty awesome guitar playing though.
That's because they are a secret nerd cult. That's really their premise. A dark Megaman cult that let's off steam through rock opera.
Sounds legit bro.
#notacult
Welcome to our cult, brother!
I think Protomen would probably do better in specialized concerts, something like this, to a foreign audience, doesn't really work too well for them. I'd recommend anyone listening to this, to check out the formally produced version of the song, as his tempo seemed a bit off this performance.
MAGFest
Dude was a GREAT singer, and that drummer was surprisingly astounding lol
Seriously though, that guy had some pipes!
That was actually pretty interesting
So good.
This and I Fight Dragons were the only two reasons I went to Warped Tour. Everything else was uninspired in comparison.
Panther really needs to dial it back during the narration sequence.
Awesome! Can't wait to see Protomen in MN next month!!!
same date im going to! i'm glad other people are stoked for them
Hell yeah!
So upset I missed them but ETID was playing at the same time and I've been waiting forever to see them
I'm still pissed that I missed these guys in Dallas
October 11 bro. They will open for andrew w.k.
This video does not contain enough high fives and the smell of sweat of the mosh pit that are at all protomen shows
lol not their crowd. KILROY just looks like a sperglord like that. They're great in other live performances but their music almost requires prior knowlege
Sad to see them play to such an unappreciative audience. By the glassy-eyed stares on some of these brats, I'd wager they wouldn't know the source material if you smacked them upside the head with it.
love the dude in the grey metallic mask that doesn't do anything.
He's Kilroy, and he's the hypeman.
Hey does anyone that saw them on warped tour know the name of the song the gambler sang?
Hold Back the Night
At least the Protomen have actual talent, which is more than what could be said for, say, Blessthefall. They'd probably appeal more to a crowd that would be more appreciative of much artier, more intelligent fare (Yes/Tull/Zappa/Genesis/Todd Rundgren/Lindsey Stirling/etc), rather than the screamo-punk Beau-Bokan-fanboy/girl audience that Warped tends to be known for...
(And no, I don't like Beyonce or Bieber, either. They both also suck as bad as, if not worse than, BTF)
I was there they were so weird I was just trying to get a good spot for the maine who was next but they were interesting I guess...
They actually sounded good once the music kicked in
all I gotta say wtf did I just watch..... oh well I guess I'll just have to watch a song or two from them on friday when I go. lol whats a good song from them.......?
light up the night
Hounds
dafuq?
Im not one for trashing music but they did not deserve warped.
Shane Slaughter Correct. They deserved WAY better.
Shane Slaughter you have bad taste they deserved better than the warped tour
Warped Tour didn't deserve them
Why the hell is this at warped... yuck.
I know, they deserve so much better than Warped.
