Invite Nils Fjellström :)
holy shit yes
Agreed!
Yes!!
fuck yes
and frost would be amazing also x)
Eric is an absolute monster. Best drummer suffo has ever had. Breathes new life into the older songs.
Eric may be one of the funniest, chillest, happiest musicians out there.
Eric Morotti is amazing....I remember watching him when he was in Blind witness and he could easily do those insane drum fills at such young age. I'm so glad he's in suffocation now.
That. Was. Epic.
I'd love to see Hannes Grossman, Thomas Lang and Krimh, among many others.
Loving this, Marthyn. I think Kevin Paradis would be interesting to talk to about technique
sounds like a great idea- yes.
this guy is a great example of how humans should strive to be...
I saw him with suffocation this year he was so friendly got a hug
Been practicing heel toe how eric explained it for only a week and i already surpased my limit with regular heel up motion. Big Thanks to you guys!
Great!
awesome podcast man cant wait for future episodes
Awesome channel Marthyn! Loved the podcast!
SO COOL! i love how different his foot technique is to mine!
Great job, Marthyn!
his job with Blind Witness never cease to amaze me
Eric is such an awesome player. Caught Suffocation live a few times and they are one of the tightest death metal bands on the planet.
This is an awesome interview 🙌got to know Eric a little bit more. He's one of my favorite drummers. He seems like a funny 😄guy to get to know. Also a down to earth kind of person. Would like to see alot more interviews of drummers.
Awesome video! Great questions and open, honest and down to earth answers. I look forward to other videos in this series!
thank you!
This was awesome! Always happy to see content from you. Thank you, friend!
thank you very much...I'm glad you like this first episode!
Great chat !
I would like to see Thomas Lang! He is an absolute powerhouse and a master on double bass and on multi pedals.
It is interesting what's his opinion is on speed and power both with hands and feet.
true...he's amazing
You're great Martin and i really like your ideas for this channel a lot , Eric is a very good choice great drummer indeed and i hope soon we would see Fotis benardo ex septic flesh drummer or maybe the almighty jamie saint merat from ulcerate im sure that would be epic
Awesome vid Martin really appreciate the work you do. Keep it coming!
thank you
This guy is a badass drummer 😎🙌👏. I like to watch him play as his technique is on a higher different level. Much more relaxed looking when he execute his drumbeat skills 🤘🤘.
You're a good interviewer thanks for pressing him on answers. 👌🏻 it does matter I wish he would have went on about what he meant about live shows more.
Great video. It’s nice to see an interview where the host doesn’t dominate the interview or make dumb or irrelevant comments, and allows the guest to complete a thought. Although I’m not a big heavy metal fan, in the end drums are drums and these guys have awesome chops and share valuable information. Keep up the good work.
Seriously this is the best verbal explanation of the heel-toe technique on UA-cam. Even good channels, they know how it's done but they're unable to explain it or even show it, like Drumeo's video when the host shows the movement on the carpet, it's very confusing
Really cool thanks 🤘🏻
This is pretty cool podcast. Thanks! My vote for guest would be Samus Paulicelli because he is a master and student of the craft. And he is funny as fuck.
I never had a drum teacher and am completely self-taught, it's so cool hearing somebody have the exact same foot technique as I do, down to the BPM when he's switching to doubles.
God damn, is this really happening! gettn my popcorn ready!
:-) we had a lot of fun... eric is amazing!!
Cool guys!
Awesome I love these!
Nils dominator fjellstrøm. No good videos of him talking yet, be the first!
Great video! Hope to see more of this stuff. The trick with the stick glued to the pedal is just genius! Definetly sharing some stuff here which you never get to know otherwise.
Keep it up!
thank you, I'm glad you like it. Right now I'm waiting if people like/are interested in this podcast. So make sure to share this video if you want me to keep this thing going...thx alot my friend!
2 awesome drummers right there.
very good martin, the best idea for me would be to invite drummer we are not used to see, there is tons of video of romain goulon, thomas lang etc ... but we don't see guys like Jamie Saint Merat from ulcerate, Davide billia from Putridity, or the drummer from Soreption etc ... i would love to see them. cheers.
totally agree... I'll try my best!
excellent podcast
Cool tips!!!
This interview was 🤘BadAss🤘😎. Eric seems like a cool 😎guy to get to know, very funny👍😁👍
Eric is a cool dude, great podcast.
Really good, thanks bud
Great video! Eric is funny as hell
Eric Morroti is a great guy. Excellent drummer.
I didn't know Khal Drogo played drums for Suffocation!
That was very helpful.... Can't wait to see Luke Holland in this channel..🤘🤘🤘
Emil Wikstein
David Diepold
Ken Bedene
excellent request right there
Lille Gruber! Nils Fjellstrom! Longstreth! Nick Barker!

A-W-E-S-O-M-E content by the way, I hope I can get my hands (and feet) on your online courses very soon, not just to improve my technique and perspective on drums, but because I trully think the work you do needs and DESERVES all the support and recognition in the world, keep rocking my friend!
Aldo Hernandez thank you very much. I'm going to record the 2nd podcast episode next week 🤗
Brutal Martin
Dudes a beast!
Eric wow hell yah dude 🤘
I know it's been said but try and get inferno on here! And keep it coming Marthyn! Amazing.
theese are really good questions! not this typical clinic questions! dayum...."while playing - do you think about the moment, when you switch into an heel toe part..." nice!
thank you...I'm glad you like it!
Great show, thank you. Sebastian Lanser would be great as a guest.
Awesome get Dave Lombardo on your podcast
Great & interesting podcast, thanks Martin. Eric is spot on and down to earth about it all... Dave Haley & Ken Bedene would be two of my suggestions...
And Septimiu Harsan Omul!
Hello Marthyn, very nice video ! I like the concept and you do It well. And Eric seems to be a very good guy. Nice choice for beginning this podcast. Keep It up.
A drummer colleague.
thank you very much!
Eric bro , thx 4 ur drrumstick , xx dude
This is awesome great idea i wish you the best and hopefully you can make enough money to travel to drummers all over the world best wishes bud
I love the idea for this Drum Technique Podcast! Eric Morotti is a beast and Suffocation is one of my all-time favourite death metal bands. Thanks for the upload! Also I am a big fan of YOU and your tutorials; so much positive energy! I'm seriously considering applying for a 30 day private tutorial. Can you say something about your rates and how long you need to schedule ahead?
thank you very much for the great feedback. regarding the 30day coaching: since I only got limited slots per month, everyone has to apply first...
This is awesome. Thanks Marthyn. Eric has been my favorite drummer ever since i heard Part Grind by Killitorous.
Party Grind*
yeah- I just found out about Killitorous before the podcast...his drumming is crazy!!
Hellyea. More people need to know about killitorous. Your drumming is ridiculous too. Ive been going through your bass drum mastery course and its whoopin my ass. Thanks for all the inspiriation and knowledge.
thank you for your support!
Anytime. Also if you could get Kevin Foley or Samuel Santiago on one of these podcasts that would be killer.
Eric is a beast, great episode! Can you get Tony Laureano or John Longstreth?
Lille Gruber(Defeated Sanity) would be an interesting choice. Great stuff here!
Damn! I didn't expect that this guy is so big😮
This is Awesome Martin, Eric is a great drummer and a nice guy, there is some fantastic advice in here as well. It would be really killer if you could get Sebastian Lanser on the podcast that guy has some amazing chops and technique.
thank you... yeah- I hope Sebastian and I will be able to work something out!... don't forget to share the podcast and spread the message...thx alot!
Would love to see Ben Harclerode on the show. He uses the same foot technique as Eric, but his hand work is next level. Cheers!
would be awesome to see hellhammer, daray and inferno !
Interview Jon Rice. He is with Uncle Acid now and that's more my kind of music. It would be interesting to hear about the different challenges of playing both kinds of music.
Eric Moretti very good drum player with a nice eye color 👌
Very technical drummer
Man... This Is a very good video series idea... My pick would be a drummers who use swivel technique like krimh, George kollias, Ken Bedene etc. Lots of the questions you did in this one would be perfect for one of these drummers... Also Eric seemed a really cool guy and gave some interesting tips... Thank you and keep up the good work!!! Greetings from Greece!
Also sebastian lanser could be a good one bc he is not a strictly metal drummer
yeah- Sebastian is on my list for future participants already
This is fantastic Marthyn!👌
Witch cam is mounted on Eric 's pedal? I think the red one?
thank you... I'm grateful that Eric took the time to answer my questions...
yes...the red cam
The cut off stick at the back of the heel plate is interesting. A subtle version of the Vruk attachment in a way.
true that
"He's walking like a duck." That cracked me up.
I'm at the Office :(!!! I just Waiting lunch time to see this video!!! BTW i'm studying your single stroke mastery course!!! It's a great course thanks for share your knowledge!!! \m/!!!
thank you for your support!
Oh Shit the Blind Witness guy ! :) absolute monster on this record, and I think his brother was the drummer of Obey the Brave
Would love to see Frost.
cool guy!!😀
hes huge!!
I still have those old Pearl double pedals and use them with my cheap electric kit. They are rather annoying to play with, but alright for simple practice. They force you to focus on your secondary foot (left in my case), because you can't balance them properly.
Also go more in-depth about each drummer's individual technique. Make episodes a little longer, let's say 30 mins at least. For example I expected to see Eric barefooted presenting the toe clenching, etc. But still - I love the idea of the show and can't wait for next episodes.
Eric is the shit! most wicked drummer i've shared the stage with! CANADIAN MUSICIANS ARE THE SHIT
Wow, he prefers bass drum head tension tight like a snare?? That sounds kinda counter productive since tight tension produces high rather than low frequencies but I'm guessing it provides for quicker action and response for his fast double bass playing/triggering etc?
Invite Nils "Dominator" Fjellström for the next technique podcast, please !
Nils fjellström, Kai hahto and heikki saari :)
Hi Marthyn..please invite Pete Sandoval...Nick Barker...Derek Roddy...Gene Hoglan. We need some tips from them
I love these.
It would be nice to know more about the modification he made to his pedal.
actually he said and described this in the video...all he does is tape a piece of his drumstick underneath the footboard where the heelplate of his eliminators is located... there are no other modifications on his pedals :-)
Would be awesome if you could do an interview with Sebastian Lanser!
Matt DiCenso thank you... Im already working on it...
Martin Jovanovic Great!
10:37 pretty crazy how he nails that pattern randomly
Invite Dan Presland. Cool concept btw!
I tried now the stick under the pedal like shown here. It didn't work.....what leg motion should I do to achieve the double?
Was this filmed in the US?
Hi Martin, i really would like for you to invite Karol dyers of french tech death band Gorod in your podcast...thanx
Eric Morotti , El Lobo
I'd love to see Trey Williams
Hannes Grossman!!!
