Kevin Moore helped with mixing this project and Derek Sherinian also plays Keyboard on it. A pleasant surprise to have both previous DT keyboardists working together: ua-cam.com/play/OLAK5uy_n7pV_ZKQ60VDJ5NEYl2jzrbGaJDSX2ZA0.html
Read somewhere that this song is what the band would have sounded like without Moore’s implementation of the keyboard (ordinary prog). I don’t know though... few seconds in, this is my first listen.
It definitely seems that way, Kevin Moore was the musical center of this project, and Free basically solidified it was a more ambient and electronic driven project rather than prog.
Just shows how deep you gotta dive sometimes to find good music. This is incredible. On Disc 2 of a relatively unknown band. So good.
awesome song. amazing musicians Matheos /Moore /Portnoy.
OSI, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Riverside, The Pineapple Thief, Katatonia. Buckethead, Opeth, Mastodon.
Love this cd. And this is such a great song.
Gotta love the raw sounds without the fillins. This tells you how much post production Moore does.
Kevin Moore loves his sound manipulation, that's his thing though, I could imagine it drove Portnoy nuts, especially on Free 😂

Make America Wilson/Portnoy/Moore/Malone/Matheos again
This song sounds a lot like indukti
I'm glad the album it's not like this. The ideas here are just pasted together and it sounds kinda boring, the final result is much better imho
