This is indeed perfect for my daughter's room which faces the setting sun. The room boils up in the afternoon and by the time, we are home, it is way too late to close the window and waste to much energy to cool it. If we can get this, it will mean we can have it close at the right time of the day and open just nice to see the setting sun. Alex, thanks for a good recommendation and video again! yeah i think the gap from ikea blinds will be easily overlooked because you see so many other normal blinds being placed side by side with each other haa, but if your window has a thick frame inbetween then its fine

need this Soma smart blinds system for my existing blinds.. didnt cater smart blinds solution during my renovation period..Thought that I can manage with the brightness but only when I moved in I realized the importance of a smart blinds system. To keep the room not feeling like an oven, it will be ideal to have my existing blinds rolled down during the late afternoon sun. Hope to win this!!

I hope to win the smart shades for my grandfather so that he can control his shades from his bed. I think he would be so amazed by the technology. It would come in so handy for him as he can't really walk without a walking stick usually he will just keep the shades close because its too much of a hassle for him to open and close them using only 1 hand.
