- Testosterone is most often considered a male sex hormone, but more evidence is pointing to it being necessary for optimal health in women as well, particularly as they reach peri-menopause and menopause. Depression, pain, low libido, and fat deposition are some common symptoms of low testosterone in women, which often gets blamed on the more common female sex hormones.
This webinar will cover the latest evidence for the need for testosterone in women, lifestyle tactics to optimize it, as well as herbal and nutraceutical interventions to boost levels naturally.
You'll Learn:
- When to suspect low testosterone in women, common signs, and symptoms
- How pain, depression, and lack of motivation are not commonly dismissed as normal for women.
- What age group is most impacted
- What lifestyle interventions optimize testosterone naturally
- What herbs and supplements help boost levels naturally

I suffered 10yrs kept being told nothing was FDA approved finally found a doctor my testosterone level was 5, I had been suicidal and begging for help for years…not even functional in my profession thought I was losing my mind. Told I had to be menopausal first at one point. Once I had my first dose…I hadn’t realized how depressed I was…my home looked like someone else had been living there. My whole world became brighter and happier than it had been last 10yrs.
Wow that is powerful, I hope this message helps other woman. Thank you for sharing.
Wow. My testosterone is 1 or less (I don't think they measure exactly below 1). I've had severe anxiety and significant depression the last 6-12 months. Nobody wants to give me TRT, they think that my adrenal glands are messing up. But Endocrinologist thinks my adrenals are fine. I'm SO glad that you commented! I've refused antidepressants so far, as I easily develope Serotonin Syndrome and can't handle anything that messes with my serotonin.
I'm going to pursue this further. Thank you!
This is powerful! Your point on not being functional in your profession resonates with me so much. Can i ask you what were your levels before and after treatment? My TT has consistently been 20 and FT is 1.7. I am trying to get myself out of this state.
My testosterone is 0.5 & doctor said it's in the normal range......
@@niamhbyrne4036 they lied to you.
Thank you so much for this video!!
I am 52 years old. I hit menopause at 45 and at 50, among a myriad of other symptoms, Including overwhelming apathy, dysmorphia, fatigue, depression, low libido, droopy lower face, trouble sleeping and pure frailty, I was diagnosed with osteopenia, then sarcopenia... at 52 years old, SOMETHING IS WRONG!
After much effort, I was completely unable to find a doctor even willing to TEST my testosterone level, let alone prescribe it to me. 5 doctors refused, and some were insulting about it. One of them was a member of North American Menopause Society.
I finally got too concerned about my frailty and bone loss that I took out a loan to pay a naturopathic doctor. Test showed my testosterone level was ZERO.
DOCTORS PLEASE DON'T LET YOUR PATIENTS GO AWAY FROM YOUR OFFICE WITHOUT KNOWING THAT SHE NEEDS TESTOSTERONE!!
Try ketogenic/ LCHF diet
@@jackieburns5257 I've been on Keto for 4 years.
Can you tell us how you're doing now? Did you get on T?
@L F Yes, I'm now on T, but getting the dose correct along with balancing my other hormones is ongoing! I will say that adding testosterone has greatly improved my symptoms! Unfortunately, I am still dealing with some bone and muscle loss, and suspect I may need to raise the dose further. However, my doctors os worried about increasing it too much and want to adjust other hormones first.
It's a long stairway we must climb, but each step brings us closer.
But testosterone HAS helped a lot!
Unlike what all those octors thought, I don't have a beard, I'm not angry, and I didn't grow a penis either 🤣 imagine that 🙄
@L F Good luck with it! My old gyno was NAMS certified too and she said women don't need testosterone and gave me a pamphlet on how to give my libido and the number of a therapist for everything else!
The heck with sex drive. I want my muscle mass and strength back. I have severe osteoporosis in my hip. I am only 58. Going to start this tomorrow. Stress? Lost my very best friend, my husband almost 7 years ago. That is when I went from 103# to 172# with a belly. I am.so week and just don't care to go on. Pain? You bet ya! But I never have been given anything for pain. Drug asdicts get meds but those of us who are in true pain are screwed.
less than ZERO drive for years. Post menopause. Started on bio identicals which helped sleep a lot, still felt muscles melting and NO motivations to do anything.just started a natural supplement for T and I am sleeping better, and seeing motivation levels coming back after just a few weeks! YAY! Allopathic docs have been NO help in my area. My Naturopath has saved my life!
What natural supplement did you take
What supplement was it?
Rhonda , how are you doing now and are you still using hormones?
@Ellen I guess she doesn't want to share
Please share what supplement you used
I am happy to see women’s hormone health and fitness getting the attention it needs. Decades ago quality of life and the role that hormones play for both men and women was not getting the attention needed. This is especially true for women as their hormones are more complex
TRT really helped my wife out. I cant even list all her benefits since starting. She takes 20mgs test cypionate sub-q weekly. I wish more doctors were like you. Her last doctor wanted to give her 2 anti-depressants including an SSRI and refused to do a hormonal blood test.
I'm 33 and on testosterone. I'm in several Facebook groups and it's so common for younger women even to be on testosterone. I'm feeling way better now.
Do you have to be on it indefinitely? Or is it just temporarily to raise the low levels? I've gotten low testosterone from birth control pills (took them a short amount of time) but I don't know what to do.
@@ellen3093 Yes..TRT is for life. Small price to pay for the quality of life you'll get in return.
@@riggs9688 what about the cancer risk and side effects like dark voice, hair, enlarged clitoris, etc?
@@ellen3093 I’ve been on TRT for close to 16 years. If there was a cancer risk then millions of people would be dying, same as the stigma it’s bad for your heart. Your body as a female has testosterone, all you’re doing is replacing that hormone to a optimal level. Is there side effects, sure every drug has side effects. My advice is speak with a qualified medical professional that specializes in hormone replacement therapy and go from there. My wife and I wasted years feeling and looking like crap. I wish I started sooner. Also my wife has no side effects you mention of virilization. But make your own decisions. Good luck!
Thank you Tyna, I learned a lot, I've been focusing mostly on the decrease of progesterone and estrogen in perimenopausal women, but you explain clearly how the lack of testosterone plays a key role in symptom manifestation too. I was glad to hear you mention sarcopenia, I read a book on the subject months back and can see how the lack of muscle development/maintenance is detrimental to the well-being of my elder patients. Thanks again!
I wish more doctors were as open minded as you... as a patient I get so tired of being brushed aside, like I have no idea what kind of treatment I might need, because I'm not trained in the medical field... or worse, that I can't get treated because I'm a woman.
32:02 improving testosterone levels improves global estrogen and progesterone levels !! premenopausal 53 years old, on HRT since one year still assesting . Very gratelful for your video Thanks for sharing blessings
I am in my mid 40s and you have described everything I’ve been feeling for a few years, even with resistance training!
Sometimes I cringe when men talk about menopause and women's hormonal health problems as experts. I would much rather listen to a women doctor who has experienced hormonal imbalances and fixed them and the fact she says treat the person and not one treatment treats all. Also like the fact she doesn't pretend to know everything since there haven't been that many studies done for women. Thank you, Dr. Tyna.
It's time to start a movement on testosterone for women. It's time. We are not emotionally irrational or mentally weak. We are just low on hormones and doctors are not educated enough to help us, women, moms, wives, etc. If believe hormones therapy might help many relationships or couples and our kids also benefits from our unexpected moods. Perhaps there is a strong correctional between hormones level and mental health.
This is great information. Like the comment below, most people are uneducated about hormones, especially testosterone! It is a critical hormone for females, just as it is for males. We just need a much smaller amount than men, but it is still just as important for us.
even 99% of the doctors are uneducated about hormones 😬

Hair thinning and falling out during menopause.
It's related to a lowered production of estrogen and progesterone or too much HDT ?

Im suffering now! Can't get help! I live in Tennessee. Doctors won't help me. I may have to move to another state. Im so sick and frustrated. I have chronic pain and fibro and acid reflux they won't go away. My eyes are itchy and burning. I can't work anymore. Im afraid to go to a clinic. I do not want ozempic or poisonous injections.

I am going to go get my levels checked even if I have to pay out of pocket. Yet the doctors say my hormans are fine.

Wow this has really helped me ! Struggling with depression/ anxiety for years . Been on HRT for 2 years but hasn’t helped me much . I am achy extremely tired , insomnia. And haven’t had a orgasm for years . Always had a good sex like with my husband but it’s so frustrating I can’t reach a orgasm any more .I have a HRT review this week am definitely goin to ask about testosterone. I can’t even run anymore , I try my best getting out walking as much as o can . Also try do weight training 2-3 times a week. But sometimes I just get so exhausted and can’t enjoy my exercise routines , then I will eat rubbish and it makes me feel really depressed x
I've tried testosterone in the past and my sex life went through the roof. I'm not a doctor, but while it did not reduce my depression, it completely took my sex life to the moon. Good luck!
This is exactly what happened to me!
Dr. Tyna, you may have stated this but I had to watch the presentation in fragments and can't remember..what did you start with to administer the testosterone for you personally? Cream, gel?? The pain disappearing for you makes me hopeful as my tests show I have NO testosterone!!
How do I support my adrenal axis?
Would it be too much to use BOTH DHEA and Testogel ?
This makes me so hopeful. I’ve suffered 11 years, and I’m finally getting my T Tuesday!
Its been a month. How do you feel now? What were your levels?
How did you get it. What sort of doc or clinic did you find who was willing?
Tired for 2 years
Hormones and thyroid tested several times. Nobody could help me. Looked at my history... no testerone test by any of my experts
I’m in the UK I have just managed to get my GP to prescribe me Testosterone Gel. I’m on my 3rd day. I hear it can take 3 months to work ? I’ve already been on body Identical HRT for around 8months
She described my exact experience with pain. The day after I started hormone therapy the pain disappeared.
Over a decade of it had doctors stumped. One of the country’s leading neurosurgeons looked at my MRI and said that he could see the amount of pain I was in but that there was nothing in the MRI that showed a cause.
You are brilliant thank you 🙏 😇🙏❤️
Wow thank you so much for this. I started progesterone and am feeling a lot better but still have a lot of these symptoms you have mentioned. I am only 37 which I did not know happens at my age. My hormone doctor said my testosterone was not optimal level was 24. I was hesitant to start it because I didn't want to lose more hair. Now I am excited to start it.
I'm curious. Did you end up loosing more hair? That is one of my concerns as well.
Hi Katie. What is your experience supplementing testosterone?
Hi Katie! Are u still on TRT? How is it going?
I'm losing tons of hair on testosterone cream. Mt total testosterone is 55 and free testosterone is 9. That free t equals hair loss for me. Mainly because my estradiol is lowish so my shbg is low raising my free testosterone and it's converting to too much dht. I try to lower my testosterone cream and then feel awful so now I have to get on Propecia! This has been q nightmare. I was just fine without the testosterone . Now I'm stuck on it.
Very interesting, specially the part of which medicines your husband is taking that can affect you.
Yes! This part blew my mind!
How anyone taken a daily pill for testosterone?
I really appreciate how clearly you communicate T deficiency in a relatable way. I wish I came across you in my early 30's as you are validating everything I experienced.
Intuitively felt I had higher T and felt like it tanked early in life, suffered decades of trauma, along with misdiagnosed low thyroid, which I later learned was sub optimal to low, based on outdated conventional lab numbers, now I suspect I'm Undiagnosed hypo or hashi. The fun never stops, lol. Looking young and healthy the medical establishment has not taken me seriously which is frustrating and infuriating.
Years later during PeriM experienced more symptoms you're mentioning, had I known then what Im learning now, I could have prevented a decade or more of enduring severe symptoms daily during PeriM and early onset Peri, and when I say early I mean early.
These major truthbombs 💣are eye opening

Opiods reduce T. and cortisol 💥
3000 mg day of EPA/DHA daily to reduce inflammation

What about excessive hair growth?
It is frustrating that most of the Doctors in my area only seem to treat "low T levels" with the newer HRT Pellet treatments which is not covered by insurance & pricey not to mention the fact that if they get the dose wrong, your stuck with it for 3 months... aahhhh
And that's exactly why they do it. They get more money when it's not covered by insurance. It's probably not that your testosterone is too low, it's probably because your estrogen is too high. That is the most common cause of low sex drive in women. Eating tons of cruciferous vegetables and cutting way down on sugar and carbs is all you need to lower your estrogen so that the testosterone can do its job.
I just went straight to a telemed doctor that's really great. So I get my testosterone in the mail and my husband does my injections. I'm doing much better now
@@GameChanger597 you are guessing. Do you know what an endocrinologist would say about that? Also doctors have to test hormone levels before prescribing testosterone to remove liability because T is a controlled substance. It is a schedule 2 drug.

I'm going to guess her reasoning is so that they still get a monthly period. I've been on progesterone for 10 years to keep my period stopped. However, every time I'm admitted to a hospital, they stop it, ridiculously thinking it is putting me at increased blood clot risk. (Estrogen is the one the increases clotting risks.) TONS of cruciferous vegetables. They naturally balance estrogen and hormones in general. Avoid excess sugar and carbs and soy products as this will also raise estrogen. Estradiol estrogen is the worst estrogen you can have and the very best way to get rid of it is to go on a healthy keto diet with lots of vegetables, healthy fats, and non-conventional meats because they to contain estrogen.
She cries…
@@GameChanger597 actually estrone is the worst and strongest of the three estrogens (estriol estradiol and estrone).
@@GameChanger597 uh yeah esterone is the bad estrogen not estradiol. If your Testosterone is low then it’s low. It doesn’t matter what you do to you estrogen. They can all be low. The nicest thought about doing everything naturally is that one will never again be dependent on the doctor who looks at you like you are crazy and dismisses your concerns. Unfortunately there is not a natural DYI cure for everything.
@@elsagrace3893 the natural way does not work.diet .. goes with HRT . And androgel is not for women to use .
Sarcopenia sounds frightening ...wasting of muscle & osteoporosis sounds pretty bleak for aging women, hip & knee issues

I want my sex drive back!! I haven't felt sexy in a long time. I absolutely am so thankful for finding this video ❣️❤️💕
I have 8.9 nd/dl of testosterone I have 37 anos is that low ??? Please some body answer
That’s low.
Foods like pumpkin seeds, pistachios, maca powder and many other foods can help raise testosterone naturally. It could be that your estrogen is too high causing your testosterone be to become too low. Avoid soy products, conventional meat, and up your cruciferous vegetables by several cups a day and this can help lower estrogen naturally as well.
Thank you so much
extremely low
Mine is 4. Specialist said it should be 50-80
Maybe a stupid question.. but if a men is sterilised, does the semen contain the same amount of testosteron and zinc?
Just curious how much testosterone does a woman need?
My testosterone level is 66. I'm a female 33 years old. I've been trying to get pregnant for 4 years now. I've been having pain in the joint and diagnosed with RA. Now, I decided to see an endocrinology bc I had a stillborn miscarriage. I have Ra and hypohypothyroidism on Levothyroxine and hydroxychloroquine, and according to rheumatology and fertility, doctors say I have to take it for the rest of my life...I don't believe I have to bc I'm all about naturals medicine now I do stop the hydroxychloroquine and I get really bad constipation and gut due to inflammatory when I stop the pills. Does all my pain come from testosterone?
Try splitting the pills and getting off them slowly.
Carnivore diet, it will workk!
Perhaps you will benefit from T3 hormone and natural progesterone cream🙏🙏.
50 for testosterone is good for all women according to come doctors.
Can testosterone shots cause more anxiety in those already experiencing anxiety?
I had some anxious feelings before treatment but after I started injections of testosterone, that went away. And I don't get angry as easily. And my libido went way up.
Yes, if it gets too high. It takes a while to get adjusted to the right dose. My test got to 300 on the pellets which was too high.
Don’t get pellets or injections. When you use gel you apply it everyday so you can adjust the dose if something isn’t right. Plus a bottle of generic Androgel is only $20.
Do you have to do this indefinetly? Or is it just to bring normal levels back?

I find Testim has very bad smell that follows you everywhere! Started Andropatch this week, hopefully its better!
It's weird that economics has not overcome this issue of women being ignored. We are the ones spending the most money in the market - the ones likelier to go to our doctors. It makes economic sense to push products that help women.
"Woman not havin sex for the fda is not important"🤣😅
And yet.... a lot of men will complain about women not wanting sex.
So ironic all the time.
Just meat, because grass fed can be expensive for some.
Progesterone pills can cause bleeding after menopause.
That's why you're always prescribed Estradiol along with it.
@@lf7065 even with rhe combo aame results. I jusr stopped it
@@jackieburns5257 Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Bleeds are awful. Had you tried upping your Estradiol dose?
@@lf7065 no, less problem since I am eating keto/ more fats
Brazil nuts are very high on magnesium
Actually, it's not magnesium but selenium they're high in. A little goes a long way with these!
What exactly is Erectodom Secrets? How does this thing really work? I notice lots of people keep on speaking about this popular erectile dysfunction treatment.
Boron?
1) Apart from dosage, is there any difference between testosterone hrt creams, gels, jabs, for men and women?
2) Progesterone is great when you take it at night, SO when's the best time to apply the T-hormone gel/cream? Morning, night?
3) Because it's not oral or pellets, If you apply the T-hormone gel/cream, say, in the morning after a shower, do you need to reapply after an evening shower before bed to keep it going? 🤔
People neEd to do a water fast, if acne instantly pops up
Incorporate atleast 3 day water fast
Only eat micro amounts if you must
Flush out your bowels
Pellet is awful you cannot control levels at all. Injection is better
Interesting. Two medical degrees and cannot pronounce DHEA . It makes you wonder what really passes as a medical degree these days let alone 2 Medical degrees ???
