Update: After a few months of use I can confirm that the 10AH Ali battery is the same is the genuine 12AH battery in run time, charge time, and quality. Unfortunately, looks like this (Ali Express battery) is no longer for sale.
EGO sent ali and the factory an order to stop selling them. Factory that produced them is the same that makes the name brand EGO. Just shows how over priced they are.
The fact that those things cost so much is so ridiculous. Go find those cells, and I guarantee they’ll be much cheaper for the entire unit’s set than those high dollar prices you listed. It’s aggravating. Thank you for sharing your comparison and the updates in the comments.
Its possible they actually sold you a genuine battery. They dont just sell fakes and sometimes they somehow get real brands, but yeah im sure the inventory didnt last long
@@Mr-Chrisi seen many many many bad 30Q in the Milwaukee M18 9Ah, batch of M12 CP3.0 and XC6.0 simply fail to hold charge, why Ego uses that for the amount they are charging ? Sony VTC 6 way way more reliable
Generally i'm with you, but what option is there? Ego seems like by far the best brand. I bought a greenworks mower from costco, US made, and the batteries are complete trash. Thing is damn near unuseable.
@rickybobbyracing9106 greenworks is a Chinese company that makes their stuff in China and Vietnam. Sadly not many options for US or European or even Japanese made Battery lawn tools. But we can at least look for companies with their HQs based onside of China and start there. Husqvarna is one I can think of that is based outside China and built outside of China as well. They are expensive but will last and last.
Theres a lot more to these batteries than what a novice can see. How about you actually do some comparative testing beyond "well it works just as well in my mower"?? Lemme guess, you dont have a multimeter?

Typical Chinese factory.... from 9-5 they make a given product... then after 5pm, they make the generic version.

this is crazy thanks for showing this i hope ego clarifies this
Its only a good deal if it lasts more than 3yrs. Ego warranty is 3 years
Ego warranty on their 12 and 10 amp hr batteries is 5 years, the lower amp hr batteries are all 3 year though
Till it expands and gets swollen like all the other fake batteries I used to buy.
Ive seen testing done on generics and they never match up. I think this dude is bullshit
Yeah they must have removed it because of this video lol
Give us an update in a couple of years. My experience is the generic batteries only last a year or so. Yeah, they do look the same.
Did you note the manufacturer's part number on the cells in each battery? Were they the same, or just the same color of pink sleeve?
Same
Wheres the link to buy this battery on Ali or Amazon
What are the part numbers and manufacturer of the cells? That would be a good start but Chinese are very adept at using bogus markings.
Wow, same cells
For that kind of money that you spend on those batteries I'll buy me a garage full of gas powered leaf blowers add string trimmers
Please give update

I dont see it on AliExpress
It’s called rebranding
Not found any like it.
The chip gotta be different, and the soldering has got to be lower quality on the ali one.
EXACTLY THE SAME!
EGO sent the factory a C&D to stop selling them. Same factory that makes the OEM. we get fleeced over here 😂😂
What's the volt and mah of the off brand ??
I would keep that fake battery outside the house when storing.
I can't find it on alliexpress, could the link help?
Check the cells. I’ll be willing to bet they are not Samsung cells
Ya. Ill stick to paying $2.70 for a gallon of gas.
what exactly are those cells ? Samsung 30Q ?
Samsung 30Q 18650

Both made in the same Chinese factory and owned by a Chinese company. Stop buying stuff from Chinese owned companies.
No. I want my Chinese gears.
