This is food for thought. I currently housesit and do casual work with fairly regular hours in a bid to buy a home again (separated from partner years ago and he got lion's share of property settlement as he contributed more). A shoebox of my own would suffice at this point. Am sick of moving yet housesitting has been my saving grace. No rent hassles.

If you have a ‘really good job’ then always pay yourself first. What this means is put 10-20% into a pension for yourself before you work out and pay your monthly expenses. Build a safer future for yourself.
