This episode has everything: Mom Eda, Bi Rights, the Little Witch Academia knock-off books, Edward and Lydia Adventurezone cameos... what else would you want?
YESSSSSS. I shipped it from the start, but when Amity’s sister grabbed her wrist and called her a cutie I was like: Luz is a bisexual. end of story, PERIODT. But seriously I ship Lumity with my life.
Amity's older twin siblings who are bullys to her and shamelessly flirt with Luz to get her do what they want. More reason to feel bad/love Amity *Edit* : I take back my statement about Ed & Em only cause my impression of them was based on their first appearance in this episode
Amity is really the best supporting character. She is not one I mean hurry but she is one of the main free supporting characters along with Willow and Gus
i don't think they were flirting it was more complementing also they did generally seem to like Luz but they were very mean to Amity and i do hope the twins return and have some redemption
Honestly, they seemed to enjoy being around Luz and did genuinely feel bad about how Amity previously treated her. Seemed more like actually complimenting her than anything shameless.
Can I just say, I love that Amity called Luz a bully. It's like a tiny bit of insight into how Luz's spontaneity affects others. We see the world through Luz but we're not truly seeing how everyone else around her is reacting to her.
I think the brother's kinda cute. I don't mind the twins too much, but yeah, they were a bit too mean, but I can see that they don't really get along with Amity. Still, they were cool with Luz and it didn't seem like an act. They kinda remind me of Wendy from Gravity Falls-- can be bad, but it's teenage stuff, rather than outright maliciousness (right now). I do like Amity, though, and am glad their plan didn't go through. I hope Luz can bring the siblings together.
2:05 So this is an obscure easter egg, but when Eda says "Eating babies is so 1693" its a referance the the Disney TV movie Hocus Pocus. Where the Sanderson Sisters are hung in the beginning of the movie for witch craft and sucking the lives out of children in the year 1693.
@@rolay7730 You should watch Foot of a Ferret, in one video he talks a lot about this show and the books it was based on, but I sadly forgot what the title of the video was
i really related to Amity´s siblings, because we have to admit it.... joking, pranking and sometimes slighly bullying between siblings it´s pretty normal. but yeah, wanting to expose her private thoughs to all the school it´s definetly not cool at all, but at the same time i can understand why they came to the conclusion of that being the best option, they´re definetly were cruel with Amity but that doesn´t make them automatically bad people, it´s just that they don´t know how to properly deal with their little sister and therefore guide her.
2:40 (Dark) Adults are the worst you may give us knowledge, food, and shelter but hurt us. Smacke, whacked, left outside in the cold, and words peirce us and we were left to run away
Edric and Emira are exactly like Fred and George from Harry Potter (and they're supposed to be). They may play games and be antagonistic at times (like in this episode) but at heart they do care about Amity and genuienly want what's best for her. This isn't shown better than in season 2 ep 5, when Amity is venting about how chaotic her life has become, and Emira (instead of making a joke) points out that despite the chaos, Amity is the happiest she's ever been.
Why else would they be redeeming her character so fast ? So they can dipper and Pacifica them, come on owl house, you know it’s the right thing to do (I actually do think this relationship will tie into the overall conflict with Eda and the emperor)
This ep is my current obsession, because I like how it doesn't just show a turn-around regarding Amity, but we understand her a little more, and Luz is making in-roads to understanding her. Plus, the B-plot involving Eda and King is simple enough that the check-ins throughout the ep don't feel too jarring. And I love Eda's: "Rock...rock..maternal gesture."
@@yusufkurdi3582 The show is aimed at like 10-16 year olds or something. It's not meant for 22 year olds. Adults might like the show but not all of them will because the show isn't aimed at that demographic. Its just like Steven Universe. It was aimed at maybe 7-13 year olds and many teens and adults ended up liking it but many didn't because the show wasn't meant for them. Other demographics liking these shows is just a plus.
I dont think the Twins are bad people. Chaotic , for sure, but I think they dont mean as much harm as they cause or were about to cause and they were genuinly nice and friendly with Lutz. I think kinda like Amity they need to learn a few lessons and progress as characters, but I dont think they actually dislike Amity or anything. I think they just have a hard time understanding that Amity isnt quite as chaotic like them and see that as something that needs to be fixed, instead of just letting her be. Also, I love how much growth Amity already has so far in the first Season of this show. Makes me hope they dont drag it out too long for just kinda forget about it like Gravity Falls with Pacifica. but rather that we might get maybe a full season of them just being good friends? If you've seen Little Witch Academia you can see in this episode that Luz and Amity are similar to Akko and Diana. Luz/Akko: Both desire to become witches despite having non-magical backgrounds. Diana/Amity: Both are top students in witchcraft, strongly admired by teachers and classmates alike, and often clash with the main protagonist. Lastly, like Akko and Diana, who are both fans of Shiny Chariot, Luz and Amity are both fans of Azura.
Eda: Rock, rock, maternal gesture... Hootie:Hey, you want to hear about MY night? Luz,Eta: NO! King:Thats not a thing anyone ever wants! Lmao, love this show.
I love Amity's writing. Upon first viewing, it seems like Amity is just an arrogant asshole that slowly softens as her relationship with Luz grows. However, when you actually think about it in retrospect, she has a point. Luz is obviously not trying to be a bully, but every time she interacts with Amity, something goes wrong. Amity loses her top student position for no real reason, then she loses others' respect because they think she cheated, and then Luz gets herself involved with the twin's steal-the-diary heist. Only after working together do they come to an understanding.
The only reason Luz "got herself into Amity's life" in the first place was to stand up for Willow, whom Amity was bullying. So, I still refuse to consider her a victim...for now

Ok, first of all I just wanted to say that Amity calling Luz a bully was kinda hypocritical to me because of her own treatment of her, and Luz was trying to make up and befriend her the entire episode. But at the end of the episode I'm glad Amity started to realize it and even though she said she wasn't the nicest witch "either" as if she thought Luz was the one being mean, least she's starting to open up and working on her flaws. It's like she'll later say in eclipse lake "there are people who won't make you feel worthless, you just have to let yourself meet them," that being said I like season 2 Amity more than season 1 Amity.
