I’ve found transtect works great for scale control, but I’ve never used the bark application. Can the bark application be used now before crawler emergence? I have 1 gigantic magnolia that is getting destroyed by scale. I did a soil application at the very beginning of June and was going to do a Foliar application in a couple days when the GDDs are there and a fall form oil as well. And xytect soil in the fall as well
Transtect as a bark spray works great and can be applied a few weeks before crawler activity starts. If you did an application already this spring I would look at utilizing Proxite for a foliar spray since Transtects residual lasts around 2-3 months.
Magnolia scale have been popping off this year.
