Pyramind instructor Will Marshall shows you a track analysis technique he teaches in our Mixing & Mastering in Ableton class here at our ground campus.
Using Fab Filter Pro-Q 2, he demonstrates how you can isolate certain frequencies to better understand where different elements of a track (snare, bass, kick, vocals) sit in the mix. Once you know this, you can better analyze how an artist is layering their sounds. Will uses ""Snorkle"" by Opiuo as an example.
He also isolates and listens to 2 bars at a time, to figure out how many sounds are playing at a time. This is especially useful for analyzing drops that sound complicated.
