Thanks man! This saved me a lot of money and time! I had biggest problem with prying battery. Glue was so strong and i wanted to do this as gently as I could. Greetings from Poland!
Hello fixers! You can use a few drops of 91% isopropyl alcohol to help remove battery if it’s being stubborn with just heat. It will keep you from having to pry very hard
Removing antenna cable with spudger at the connexion site rather than yanking probably makes your hardware happpier. Also I strongly discourage using a hard steel sharp surgical blade to do anything on very delicate board and cables with electric parts at microscopic distances away, that can be knocked off very easily with a little excess force or a slip, which I noticed you employ at several instances. Also the hard steel has a high risk of scratching the coating on the board and parts. Use plastic instead please. Spudgers give you a lever-like shape , they're softer because they're made out of plastic and they give you pointy end.
I recently upgraded to a sim only plan as i wanted to keep the s20fe and keep monthly cost down. I got a quote of £160 including labour charge from a repair shop. I think it is worth it as i intend to keep the phone for duration of the sim plan which is 24 months. When it comes to upgrading the contract in 24 months time i will have a better choice in smartphone as the technology jump will be greater. But to be honest a lot of friends, relations and work colleagues opt to go purchase a sim only plan and then buy the smartphone outright from a retail outlet as that can work out cheaper in the long run.
I sure wish you were local. I'm not seeing myself replacing this. 😕 Although if I had a couple extra phones to practice on, I'm sure I could do it. Lol. Thanks for sharing a great video!
My S20 FE has a minor crack on below the lcd panel of the navigation bar. But the display and touchscreen still work perfectly fine. Is it okay if I just re-install a full screen tempered glass to cover and protect the crack from dirt and moisture?
Yes. But you'll still have the Crack glass. You can either replace the whole screen or attempt to remove the glass only and replace it. Doing that is very risky and might damage the screen panels
Great video, thanks! I may try this however the replacement screens I have seen for sale all pretty much have bad reviews except expensive oem ones which make it too expensive for a two year old phone! IMHO
Hey I would like to know if this new screen supports 120hz and if finger print works flawlessly? Also is thia actually super amoled screen or is it just lcd?
I believe this was lcd screen. 120hz is supported natively but if the screen is not the same spec as original it won't do it. If the screen was pulled from another S20fe it will work and do 120hz. Everything should work fine including the fingerprint sensor.
@ersbit Did you find that the new replacement screen's fingerprint reader was the same as the OEM reader? Was the new screen reader just as responsive as the old one?
Yes. The screen was good. Everything worked as it it supposed to be. The screen will come with the fingerprint alredy embedded. You just need to make sure that the device is compatible with yours. Us version or International version they are a little bit different because of the 5G antennas.
No the screen will work. Just make sure it's compatible with your model, US version or International version. In this video everything went well. The screen was replaced and the device worked as it should.
What could i have done wrong if the screen lighted up once i connected the phone to the charger but then flickered in blue and now doesnt show anything anymore? thx for your help
Hi hope you figure out the issue. You should remove the screen and reinstall the screen flex cable then try again to see if it start working again. If it does not work reinstall the old screen to see if it works. If it does the new screen might be bad. Just return it and get a new screen.
Hi yor video was GREAT! I got to the part where you turn it back on and it showed the charging symbol for 10 seconds, then went black. Now it just does a quick flicker of light and nothing happens. Any suggestions?
Hi, the easiest is to disconnect all the flex cables then reconnect them again. Then try to see if the issues goes away that would mean it was just a bad connection on one of the cables. If you have the same issue reassemble everything on your old display/frame to see if the issue is now present on the old screen if no issues something is wrong with the new screen. Try to plugged everything including the wireless charger then try to charge and turn on (some of the devices have issues when the wireless charging coil is not connected) it has a temp sensor (the motherboard might be reading to charge or turn on) this happend to my S20 Plus and since the S20fe is basically same thing different body it might be a thing on the FE too.
Where do we get the replacement part? I'm trying to decide if the phone screen is worth fixing or if I should just suck it up and buy a new phone at this point.
You can get the replacement parts from Amazon or eBay. Depends on your nearby future plan lol are you wanting to upgrade if yes you can just get rid of this and get a new device instead of buying a new screen. The screen will go maybe around 200 usd
I just replaced my screen and still not displaying anything at all. although it vibrates whenever I press power button, as well as when forcing the phone to restart using volume down + power. It's like my phone is running in background, but not showing anything at all. Do you have any idea which specific part of the phone I should replace?
1- was the phone with the old screen working (not black even if the phone was broken)? Yes. Screen was working even broken (the new screen might be defective) - try checking all the flex cables make sure they are all disconnected and reconnected and fully pressed in then try to turn the phone on with the new screen attach (if still the same black screen then the screen might be bad) 2- same issue with old screen as new one (stay black) you might have a problem on the motherboard which is one big piece and should be replace or you find a shop that is willing to test the motherboard and find the micro component broken/damage and replace it. After 48 hours the screen and the phone itself are working perfectly but I have none touchscreen. Zero. Do you think it's possible to maybe fix this? Try to mess with the digitizer or whatever. Fixing a none working screen would be difficult unless you find a shop that can check the panel and change a component. I do not know how to start or fix it when the digitizer is bad or not working. The easiest way would be to replace the screen as I did in the video. Water damage it's luck if you dont dry everything or the battery cable is still on for long after the water damage it might cause a problem.

@@ersbit first UA-camr that would actually agree with someone in the comments. Most people always wanna be right. I had 15 years in the repair and unlock business. @@ersbit Ok now I'm stuck. Another new frame and screen came and still no display. The motherboad has also been replaced so know it can't be that. No idea why but cannot get the screen to display anything

Oh ok if it the new screen it might be the motherboard but still can be the flex cable (screen). If you checked and tested again and nothing happens the motherboard should be the issue.

Agree, I got one on Black Friday and broke it the week after. Paid for Samsung insurance and a replacement, just for the screen to break again a week later. Still functions, probly just gonna use it as much as I can. Can't afford to keep dishing money out for bs products
Very happy to hear from your experience. 😄 it's an incredible feeling...happend to me when I do teardowns Disassembly right when I get a newly released device 🤣 sometimes there's no videos only at that moment and it's more self-fulfilling when everything went well from Disassembly to Reassembly lol
Am sorry but I have never got a battery damaged like you said. You can add or suggest other ways but as for me my method is still valid as I have not experience any issue with it. Adding a little bit of alcohol will certainly help ✌🏽️.
I went into this thinking I can do this on my own then I got like 2 minutes in and was like fuuuuuuuuugggghhhhh my life. No way I can do this myself. Now I gotta pay off my device and get a new one. Damn I love my S20 5g Fe. Its best phone ive ever had and ive had LG flagship phones at double the price! I had the LG G7 Thinq and it sucked ass and was like $950. This S20 was amazing just screen so delicate and even with case and protector I shattered screen the 2nd week I had because my big rig truck phone holder suction came undone and dropped my phone about 3 feet. It lags bad and types like 10x the same letter with 1 press etc and I cant take it anymore!
This looks fairly complicated. Too many things could go wrong. Especially the first time doing this. I'd rather pay someone who is familiar and experienced with this process.
🙄seriously I made it very easy. If people watch this twice and a third time while doing it they will 100% complete it. You can always comment if you have issues I'll respond if I got the notification. "If people aren't confortable doing it true it's not worth it just pay someone to do it)
Hey i have tools in the description! The heatgun doesn't need any fancy setting or power. The heatgun I have is one of the cheapest I got online. As long as you can grab it sweep the area turn on and off quickly it will do it.
True repair on these phones is basically gone since they went all Flat Screens and most of the time doing true repair will take more time than just replacing ( cost more to find a bad diode on a motherboard/ USB-C charging module/ on screen control unit etc....remove it replace it than replacing it.) that's why I did it the way I did it. Plus all the equipment to do true repair is very expensive people will find the video too technical. "😅 this is alredy getting comment that it is hard etc..."
I think those are scams lol the screen manufacturers would make everything possible to make hidden not available to the public, I can buy some of those and test but I think it will not work @@oxcart4172

Agree, I got one on Black Friday and broke it the week after. Paid for Samsung insurance and a replacement, just for the screen to break again a week later. Still functions, probly just gonna use it as much as I can. Can't afford to keep dishing money out for bs products
Haha it very fragile. Just get a good case 👍🏽
Why did you not show the screen replacement part?
What do you you mean screen replacement part? The screen and frame were together or are you talking about something else
a few questions
, what kind of glue are you using? and where did you buy it? thanks in advance ♥
On the back I usually use b7000 glue to reinforce the back if the double sided tape is not really good or sticky
@@ersbit thank you a million 🤍

Thank you so much!! Excellent instructions!
You're welcome 👋🏽. Thanks for the kind words 👍🏽
Felt like a pro when I saw that screen light up lol
Very happy to hear from your experience. 😄 it's an incredible feeling...happend to me when I do teardowns Disassembly right when I get a newly released device 🤣 sometimes there's no videos only at that moment and it's more self-fulfilling when everything went well from Disassembly to Reassembly lol
@@ersbit yes thanks a lot u got the best tutorials!
Das ist so viel Arbeit, da vergeht einem richtig das Interesse an Samsung...😂
Don't force the battery out and bend it like this guy did or you will damage it
Am sorry but I have never got a battery damaged like you said.
It lags bad and types like 10x the same letter with 1 press etc and I cant take it anymore!
lol its not too hard. If you don't feel comfortable doing it get it fixed or pay off then upgrade 👍🏽
@@ersbit I paid it off and got S23. Thanks
This looks fairly complicated. Too many things could go wrong. Especially the first time doing this. I'd rather pay someone who is familiar and experienced with this process.
😅 I thought it was well presented and straightforward. True if someone is not confortable doing it obvious choice would be to seek a shop help. 👍🏽
SAMSUNG s20 fe 5g display price
This was around $180
that is way to much work for me. I'll just pay you to fix it
very good instruction by the way. nice job
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you 🙌🏽
Never mind, i will just go to the store.
okay...I know most people who have watched will not try 🤭. If you're not confortable in doing it just pay someone else to do it (easy)
Thank you now I'm less nervous about fixing my gf phone😅🤣
Watching this on an s20 fe with cracked screen
Hahaha your in the right place to get your device fixed
Lol, me too.
@@ERIC619ism lol welcome hopefully you get all the info you are seeking in the video.
I fixed it thanks to your vid, new battery and back cover to boot!
🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for your feedback 🙌🏽🙌🏽
you can easily destroy something inside if your not experienced, better to bring it to a store
🙄seriously I made it very easy. If people watch this twice and a third time while doing it they will 100% complete it. You can always comment if you have issues I'll respond if I got the notification.
"If people aren't confortable doing it true it's not worth it just pay someone to do it)
so basically you have to completely dissassemble this phone to replace the screen...
Yeah that's what I gathered from this...doesn't seem worth it unless the phone is seriously damaged beyond use.
with most phones is worse. this is like swaping an engine. while other phones are like changing every single nut in the whole car.
U open lavender color, and then change all to new one
Yes. The customer wanted a new color for his S20fe. While repairing you can customize if you want (frame color and back color)
What sort of heat gun are you using and what tools are you using? Many thanks.
Hey i have tools in the description!
The heatgun doesn't need any fancy setting or power. The heatgun I have is one of the cheapest I got online. As long as you can grab it sweep the area turn on and off quickly it will do it.
It is possible that the phone no longer works because I am not wearing gloves
That's replacement, not repair
I can agree with you. How would you repair a broken screen if not replace it?
True repair on these phones is basically gone since they went all Flat Screens and most of the time doing true repair will take more time than just replacing ( cost more to find a bad diode on a motherboard/ USB-C charging module/ on screen control unit etc....remove it replace it than replacing it.) that's why I did it the way I did it. Plus all the equipment to do true repair is very expensive people will find the video too technical. "😅 this is alredy getting comment that it is hard etc..."
@ersbit
Apparently, there are special liquids that can fill in cracks-like windscreen repairs for cars
I think those are scams lol the screen manufacturers would make everything possible to make hidden not available to the public,
I can buy some of those and test but I think it will not work @@oxcart4172
@@ersbit
It would be great if u did test them.
I've sent u some money to help pay for them.
hell nah i'll pay 150 & tax to have someone else do that literal excavation to get to the screen
150$ lol did you add inflation 😂🤣😂. Glass only maybe it can happen but complete screen replacement it'll be higher.
Oh okay that’s a good price if the lcd is damaged not only the front glass cracked 👍🏽
I am so going to buy a new phone, and SURPRISE!! it won't be a Samsung.
lol why is that??
