@@mattchalk1972 Love you guys! And TBDBITL has my total support. Let the drum major know that I love love love how he gives a pound-pound to the bandmember that stops next to him during pre-game. Yep, I noticed. 😊
As a former drummer and total band nerd, I can't stop watching this. My son is going to love this too. Great video and, as always, awesome job on the field.
Dang, it’s my dream to play at Ohio state some day. It’s just so cool. I’m proud to be in my high schools drum line, and nothing is better than it. Keep up the good work man
As a foreigner from Holland, doing drumcorps and being to america before with band, this is something else. I love seeing this from a members perspective and get to feel the vibe and stuff... really makes me want to see and experience this myself in real life! Keep it up dude! 🤙🏻
Wow. Just... wow. Well done! What an incredible perspective of TBDBITL and the pre-game! Sent chills down my spine and to be honest... a little tear to my eye watching the flag go up during the National Anthem (I'm a cold war Navy veteran). Hats off to the band's leadership for allowing GoPro usage! Used to have season tickets to the Shoe and never missed a Skull Session or a pre-game show. Thanks for sharing! You made my day! GO BUCKS!
I love tbdbitl. I’ve never followed college ball much but this band makes me want to be a Ohio fan. I’ve for whatever reason have watched a ton of Ohio State band performances and behind the scenes bits and they’re a elite marching band year after year. Hats off to them.
i’m from tennessee and i’ve always wanted to be in the ohio state marching band. my dad was always talking about them, showing me the battle cry when i was only six. it fueled my love for band and to this day i envy the bass drums that march onto that field. that all looked so fun :)
OMFG!!! THIS IS GREAT!! I CAN"T BELIEVE YOU DID THIS!!! THANK YOU SOOOO SOOOO SOOOO MUCH! THIS IS AWESOME! To BE YOU FOR A MOMENT! YOU ARE AWESOME! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SO MUCH I CAN"T SAY ENOUGH!
From one band nerd for another I absolutely love this, I'm in my school's highschool Marching band. Once a year we do scrpit but it's called Scrpit Elida. We do scrpit Elida every year on homecoming night. The video is actually on UA-cam. Go Buckeyes!
The sling is their traditional way of wearing the snare drum. Up until a few years ago they used the slings for the entire football game including the halftime show and not just for pregame
I want to know what Mark Reynolds witnessed at 11:23. 😂🤣 Edit: Found it! The last snare almost spun himself out of his spats with a 270-degree turn. ua-cam.com/video/6aDOyoDH0OE/v-deo.htmlm08s
The modern white Kevlar heads are more suitable to the halftime music we play nowadays. Some, myself included, wish that we could still use another set of drums with mylar heads for pregame, but that is logistically pretty difficult unfortunately.
Hey Hayden, the tryout process happens over a weekend at the end of each summer. There are also summer sessions (non-mandatory but VERY highly recommended) every Tuesday and Thursday evening throughout the summer. If you have more questions, feel free to reach out directly or reference the OSUMB website for more info. Thanks!
So cool to watch them go from totally animated to *robot mode.* Love this band!! Mad respect for them and the Drum Major.
Yes, it’s not an activity you could wing.
Thank you! We really appreciate the support. Austin Bowman, our drum major, is absolutely fantastic.

My first game I sat next to tunnel and watched this. Will never forget it over 40 years later.

My high school marching band drumline experiences werent great, but it was always a pleasure to be on a field. Makes wish i enjoyed it more...

Mr Camera Guy has an endearing voice
You can hear how much love and respect the crowd has for their band. Good for y’all, Buckeyes. ❤
Got to watch you guys last week vs. Purdue. It was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for this video!
Crowd was absolutely electric that night
This is SO me in my next lifetime!!
This was super fun. Thanks! Loved the go pro view.
Everytime i watch these guys i think dang. If only i had the grades and the money to attenfld osu. It seems like such an awesome gig
This. Is. EVERYTHING!!! Well done!!
"You guys are electric!" He's so right, holy cow. :D

Scarlet and grey forever !class of 1980 this never gets old ❤️
I love this band they. are so great I could watch them all the time
Some of those players and staff were taking their sweet time running onto the field. The band is already moving and they’re still jogging on. 😂
The band is so good even the timing of the crowd cheering as the i dotter gets behind the drum major is consistent

the band has their own gang signs and cheers lol
Love how pumped up they are before taking the field!
Great video! Please keep doing this!! Love TBDBITL!!!

That is such a weird but cool way to have a snare. Really cool.
The sling is their traditional way of wearing the snare drum. Up until a few years ago they used the slings for the entire football game including the halftime show and not just for pregame
It's how they were worn back when drums were used to relay instructions on the battlefield, and it's why traditional grip was originally developed
@@jameshancock1528 oh cool
That sounds!! I loved marching band!
Oh man, I just watched the one from about 5 years ago. Pretty cool from the other perspective.
I really really really want to be able to play in this band someday I’ve been an Ohio state fan since day one
Great perspective of the Ohio State Marching Band. Thanks for sharing it.

hah good catch
It would be fun and interesting to see how many steps you guys do on a game day.
Great job! Love the Go Pro!
I wanna go to an OSU game. I don't care in the slightest about American Football but I want to see this band live >.
Awesome performance
The Best Damn Band in the Land!! ❤️❤️
The dead schbecker were a great band
Pretty voice!
love it
Have you met Brutus??
did you go to the bathroom?
I think I waited until the end of the game actually. In for the long haul
once or twice
@@jjwillia lol
Go Ohio State marching band
That German drummer. Damn
This band is like the Eminem of the marching bands
It’s missing the talented and entertaining Drum Major. Disappointing or did I miss him?
One of the cool things about my spot is that toward the right side I actually can see Austin enter and do the back bend around 5:40
Who forgot to put on his spats?
TBDBITL! ❤️
Just out of curiousity why do you guys use white snareheads instead of clear ones like u guys did before

@@mattchalk1972 the mapex agility snares would be perfect for that too. Maybe if mark gets pushed enough it'll happen haha
@@mattchalk1972 so its more about the tone quality and how punctuated the sound is right?
Maybe you shouldn’t of drank that 24 ounce of Red Bull before the game
If ryan day doesnt beat blue this year and wisonsin does vrable or finkes should be new head coach imiss tressell
Hey I know u may not see this but what are the requirements to do marching band there
I'm percussionist all the wag

How does one get into the Ohio state marching band as a drummer ?
It's a difficult selection to get in this band :

Band is wonderful, camera coverage is not so hot! Also have a loud month in the crowd.
