The way she defended her babies was actually the cutest thing ive seen from a spider ever
The way she turned around slowly & started flicking hairs was so funny. It was like “right, for that you can have some of this” 😂
What an amazing, protective and beautiful Momma Spider!!! Job well done Momma! 😊💗🕷
cutest tug of war ever
"Excuse me sir, no, this is mine.."
Dave, I'm truly appreciating having access to all of your earlier videos, it's fascinating to see how yourself and the Lady of the Camera have also matured over the episodes... 10/10. 👍😃👍.. such Insey Winsey spiderlings...
Wow, thank you its strange we have been doing this for years but filming everything really changes it 😂👍
Haha, I love that--"the Lady of the Camera".
I love how determined she is
The girls got strength! My whiteknee molted out about a month ago and turned out to be male but still so stunning. Now thats an egg sack 😮😊
Thankfully you had the knowledge and fortitude too open the sweet lil sac. ❤
Omg,I I can't believe I'm saying this but,
(" AWE , LOOK at those
🥚sweet lil eggs with Legs!")
Lord, I'm spending way too much time on this channel!
😉
Wow WOW!!!! I've never seen an egg sack with that many babies b4!!! Fantastic 😍😍😍
So incredible!!! She was a good momma💖 How do you set up the nursery for them?
Your reaction is priceless! Lol. Great video
thanks Joelle , yes everyone kept saying to take it early but I wanted to leave it , they are prone to eating the sack for no reason but she was very good and relaxed, the nursery is just a separate tub with damp tissue in it , they must not dry out or you will lose them .
Absolutely delighted for you Dave. A.gen’s are awesome T’s. There is loads of babies in there and mum sure didn’t make it easy for you to take.
cheers Angela she did put up a fight didn't she.
Was great to see how pleased you were with that surprise... Wow..😃👍
These epic displays of motherhood make me love spiders more
Oh I’m so pleased. All those lovely little babies. However I was shouting at the TV for you to let her keep the sac 🤣🤣🤣 I felt so sad for her and she put up such a good tug of war.
yes I was gutted too wish I had waited a little longer but there very cute little babies😂👍
Mate I'm over the moon after our discussion yesterday best news to hear today :)
thanks matey I was rather pleased as I thought it was no good😂👍
Wow! Incredible!
Hi Dave She was such a good protective mom. She sure gave you a good fight to keep her egg sac. What a nice surprise to see all of those babies, looking so good. Counting all is those babies will keep your camera lady busy.😂🕷️🕸️Cindy
There was over 2 thousand slings in that sack 👍
Very protective mum
Congrats!!
Wow mum was not having anyone
Steel her egg sack!!
Proper grip too, hope shes doing well
I've read this was made last year
She is very well and about to be paired again very soon 👍❤

Thats a good mama
I just received my first white knee sling two weeks ago , it’s half the size of a dime right now , looking forward to watching it grow
Awesome!
Amazing well done her 🤗
Wow that's actually really amazing can't wait to see them growing and being sold :D I was very interested in this tarantula but after seeing the description on a tarantula store site I think I'll leave it until I have way more experience rofl
There not as bad as you may think and with sensible housing and care there not difficult .👍
Love this video! I had a few good laughs at your game of tug-of-war with her ! LOL She had a really good grip and didn't give the sac up easily at all! She's a beautiful Tarantula. Also, that's LOT of babies!!
Glad you enjoyed it
I have gone from cringing to holding my breath and hoping for babies.
Congratulatios!!
awesome mate, massive amount there, posting day is going to be fun
sure is won't be long now 😂👍
Amazing. Well done 😊

yes I think we can do something along those lines be nice to show what we do.👍👍👍
great video dave, looks like you'll have fun potting that lot up when the time comes mate lol
yes thats when the real work begins 😂😂 got 2 cambridgei sacks to pot up too 😂😂😂👍
@@daveslittlebeasties nice might get couple of them of you mate only got one juvi at the minute always nice to have more lol
I feel sorry for her. She really wanted to keep that sack. 🥺
Really Awesome mate 😁
yes thanks very pleased
I like the how u have all ur tanks in an orderly fashion. Looks more professional👍🏼would like to see a Theraphosa breeding. New subscriber here, love the vids- keep em coming mate🙌🏼
There will be a breeding video as soon as she is ready its on the cards👍👍👍 glad your enjoying the channel.👍👍
Excellent news 👍👍👍
thanks matey
Did all 2500 slings survive until you sold them?! Would there still be a change of them not making it after selling them? I've never heard of that many in an eggsac before!! You're a lucky keeper! I'm absolutely shocked Dave! Well done!!! I bet you never anticipated this one! If only they were all like this. Wowza!!! 😍❤️🕷️🕷️🕷️
Yes they all survive , once they reach their new homes its down to the care of their new keeper but if cared for well they will be fine 👍
2500? Holy spider crap!
A genics, and LPs as babies do really well.
How exciting for you guys.
Congratulations Dave that's a good sac that is buddy!! How awesome do they look 😍 she didn't want to let it go did she 😂😂
cheers matey she will be left next time 😂👍
Awww bless u you look like a proud pops so please for u super excited to watched them grow
thanks Ellie there real cute 😂😂😂

@@elliemarie06 😂😂😂😂
COOL VIDEO!!! Boy, she did NOT want to give up her babies!!! Really cool to see all those Eggs With Legs move in unison like that!!! Kinda feel bad for Mom, though...
Dont feel sad in the wild they would all disperse into the countryside without looking back as soon as they are slings they are self sufficient 👍
Going through all of your past videos to see if I have missed any.
LOTS of little ones. I was thinking the next time you open up a sack have us all try to guess how many. Kind of a fun little game to see who has the best eye. Winner gets a shout out on the next show ?... ha....I don't know just a thought.
My guess on that batch would be around 297.......TM
Good idea and that clutch was 2000+😂😂😂😂
Just curious. What size enclosure are you using for her? It looks absolutely amazing for larger terrestrials.
That was a Reptile One enclosure and it was 30x45x16 if I remember correctly .
This is amazing! I love egg sac and hatching videos!
Also, where do you sell your spiders? I can't see a link and in the videos I've watched of yours (although I am a relatively new subscriber) I haven't heard it mentioned. Would love to know so I can purchase from you some day! Have a good day mate!
Hi there I'm on Facebook Dave Fisher you can message me there 👍
Aw well done momma! I bet it's one time you were glad to be wrong! They're so tiny, please keep the updates coming 😊
I will do my best we have a few more pairings to follow I didn't think people would be so keen to follow the journey so I was wrong on both counts 😂😂😂👍
@@daveslittlebeasties it's amazing to see it all happen ♥️
So glad the babies are okay.
What size was that take
I would love some of these famous slings!
they will be available very soon 😂👍
Dave's Little Beasties I will keep my eye out!!! :D
Congrats on the successful sack Dave! Those bamboo tongs are a nightmare to grab hold of things aren’t they, I always end up going back to my metal ones haha!
😂😂I always try them first as I find them less invasive and it doesn't matter too much what the spider does theres less chance of them hurting themselves, but yes they can be awkward.
Dave's Little Beasties haha yeah I’m the same always try them first as they’re softer just incase the T strikes them. But always find anything heavier than bolus drops out of their grip 🙈😂
Tog of war she's got a good hold doesn't she
oh lil spiderbabies :0
Awesome sack! Glad it went well, shame it couldn't have stayed in with her but better safe than sorry!
yes only took it becouse I thought it was knackered.
Woo hoooo congrats dude :)
cheers buddy
This must be the cruellest egg sac removal video I've seen from you! 😉
I dont see why ??
@@daveslittlebeasties Well, I saw that poor girl desperately clinging on to her egg sac and imagined that's how mothers must feel when their babies are taken away from them. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a softie. 😉
i am curious! did you get into the 4 digit area with the amount of spiderlings?
Yes, around 2500.
Shes so beautiful and super strong what a great little mummy t bless her I need to get one of them i dont own one yet we were going to get one at entocon but at last second we got our dune scorpion instead x my friend calls them witchy legs hahaxx
they are super cool spiders and everyone should have at least one👍
@@daveslittlebeasties I'm deffo getting one when I got some spare money maybe next show x
@@UnusualPets yes you should go for it there very easy to care for.
dont take my babys . :) she is a good mother
She want to keep her babies to cook, clean and earn money at the salt mine. They're all like that !
Protective mummy. Sad :(
Hi Dave! 2 questions, how long from when she was paired did she make a sac? And can we get an update video on the white knee slings?
All the dates are in the video and a month on from removing the sack we are still waiting on there last moult to slings.
@@daveslittlebeasties okay! I must have missed the dates. I have a gravid genic waiting for a sac for almost a month now. Takes forever haha
@@fartdaddy1 yes forever, heres the dates Mated 16-2-20, egg sack produced 30-4-20 and pulled on the 28-6-20 I should have left it with her , could have gone another month easy, I think you still have a month to go before you get a sack👍
@@daveslittlebeasties awesome! Thank you! Looking forward to it!
@@daveslittlebeasties what are your Temps at and did you keep her humid or more dry after pairing?

i cant see the video yet or its not yet posted.. however did you get a final number of babies.. there were so so many... i literally thought 300 odd... i cant wait to hear... all the from Australia and waiting in anticipation ;)
There was around 2500 spiderlings
@@daveslittlebeasties Hahhahah what!! thats crazy numbers... well done mum dad and husbandry.
At what size can female geniculata can breed?
I would look more to her moults and when you see that her epigastric farrow is dark in colour then she is ready 👍
let say there is 500 small spider babys in the bag... what comes next? do you put then im a big empty fish tank and let let them all get bigger in there or do you have 500 small boxes one for each? whats the procudure?
I generally leave them all together as long as I can but each species are different 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties do you use a heat lamb like for birds eggs? i dont know how eggs evolve / what conditions they must have. but it sounds interesting to know
@@verbatimdk I do use an incubator for some but most are left out in the room as its a fairly constant 80f 👍
what is the growth rate on those ?? how long did it take for her to become an adult ?
Once they get going there pretty quick from juvie onwards as slings I found them slower but your looking at around 2years +to full maturity
@@daveslittlebeasties thank you most information I find never says how long it takes to grow them I also understand it depends on how much you feed how much they eat hope they are not a picky eater the husbandry conditions all that also is a factor .. I do want to thank you for one thing you have my confidence up with thinking if I meet their requirements correctly they will be fine I always worry about mistakes and I get over couscous. I love the way you explain why you do the things you do.....awesome work on educating us all please keep up the great work my friend
@@DEAexotics thanks matey, try to relax and think about what you do logically and get as much information as possible but be careful where that information comes from 👍
I am getting a sling this week, I can't wait , her name is Humbug 😁😁😁😁❤❤❤❤
How many babys do they usually have?
They all vary she had 2500 very big sack
I’m right around 2 mins and I just have this feeling she’s gonna be pissed 😤
Yeah they are alive!
"Excuse me, sir. That belongs to me!" She was very polite about your thievery until you took it away. Then she seemed quite upset. I know spiders aren't doing that because they are maternal, but it tugs at my heartstrings to see the mommas try so hard to hold onto the sacks.
That sack looked very dense in webbing compared to many of the other sacks I've seen you open. Do you think that accounts for the seemingly longer time for them to hatch out into the web. I'm not sure what the second stage is called but those look one step up from eggs with legs to my very untrained eye.
Yes these stay in the sac a long toime compared to many 👍
Any plans for a follow up Dave?
They will be featured in a video im thinking of doing on slings , but they have all been sold now I dident even keep any for my self 😂, but friends have some .
If the egg sack was tough when you opened it, how do the babies get out?
The mother opens it when ready ❤️👍
I can’t believe I want one! But I really do!
These make great first spiders, easy to keep and rear ,make great display spiders and treated gently there very well behaved 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties I would be very kind. Everything should be treated with love n respect!
Great news! How long before you started to introduce the male after your female moulted?
he was put into her enclosure roughly 10 weeks after she moulted, she did kill a male 4 weeks after she moulted .
@@daveslittlebeasties Ok just there seems to be differing views on when to breed then. Might drop you a line via fb when my female is rdy👍

How many was in the sack
2500
Congrats on the sack :) Also have one made 20 days ago. So do you think 30 days is too early to pull out and would you recommend 60 days? I want to avoid opening it and finding eggs / eggs with legs. Thanks
Yes I pulled mine way to early they are so slow to develop I think 60 days would have been better , some worry about her eating the sack so they pull early , I actually wanted to hatch mine with her, only pulled because I thought it had gone over.
@@daveslittlebeasties thanks buddy, then 60 it is! :)
@@__Nikola__ just keep an eye on her 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Just an update. I removed it after 55 days and found 1st stage larvae in it, they were all good. Then after 10 days they molted to 2nd larval stage but now here's the thing. It's been 40 days since then and they are still in that larval stage. I built them a standard tarantula incubator, they are all alive and moving, they formed 3 separated piles but they don't want to molt into slings. The humidity is pretty high and its warm. Is this normal, what do you think. Thanks
p.s. Anybody else reading this is welcome to answer ;)
@@__Nikola__ Just be patient mine took an age to do anything they are so frustratingly slow I stopped checking mine and just let them get on with it , its amazing how slow they are .
Sorry.
What size was that tank
I cant remember it was a long tome ago? i think they were 40x30x10cm
Ty
If you give her the egg sack back, would she accept it? Just curious.
Maybe, but there's a chance she would eat it.
Is there any way you can put an egg sack back in with the mom once it's been removed for the first few minutes? How long is it before she no longer recognizes it as hers?
Its always risky returning the egg sack so I prefer to keep it and hatch them out myself rather than risk her eating them if returned. 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties That would suck so bad if she ate all 2500 of them. Yikes. Good thing you took it out. Why did it take 60 days for her when it takes 28 -40 days for some?
@@LizzS17 Big spiders often take longer 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties ah ok
Looks like corn beef hash lol
Awww…. I can’t never help feeling bad for mum … how she tugged on her babies
I don't know if you still see these old videos but I was wondering how they get out of the sack considering how tough it seemed they were to get into and knowing how strong silk is.
The female opens it herself to release them 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties That's cool, so what makes her eat them sometimes? Is it just a matter of keeping her fed to make sure she doesn't do that?
@@DATWagonator There are many reasons for er eating them , its not always about being hungry 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties interesting thanks for the information, must be one tough job being a male spider to live for one moment only to get eaten the second you score. That's what happened to another of yours and I thought man the least she could do was let him enjoy it a bit. lol Keep up the cool work and thanks again for the information. I have never been a spider fan but I enjoy nature and find all this fascinating.

I love your channel and was checking out this vid with the hopes of seeing babies, which we did, when I heard what sounds like a kid mumble something @7:16, at the end of Dave's laugh. If this is something you recognize or even remember (from a year ago) I would be interested to know. It reminds me of an EVP. It could be Camera Lady too, but I thought it was weird and out of place. I like weird stuff so I thought I would ask what you thought of it. Once again, I love you guys and your love for all critters. 🕷♥️

They are all rehoused or sold 👍
Nobody who is serious in the hobby throws out slings. They are living creatures. They paid money for a male and female to eventually breed and they risk the male getting eaten in the process. They wouldn't go through all that for nothing when they get an eggsac lmao. Glad you're intruiged though.
