Since we recently got some great announcements from the DC Fandome (TRAILERS FOR THE SNYDER CUT, THE BATMAN, AND WONDER WOMAN!!!), I figured I'd do a complete customization on this Batman figure (and redo another one, while I was at it). This project was a lot of fun - hope you enjoy it!

Yah that really is the best bat suit*, probably because it looks like a live action version of the one from the animated series.
(Which is why there’s always an asterisk when you say anything live action is the best in regards to Batman)

I completely agree! Ben is the absolute best Batman I’ve ever seen. I have the Batman v Superman ultimate edition or whatever they call it. Directors cut basically. Ben killed it. Hands down best live action Batman to date.
Absolutely, I love seeing him as Batman, and I can't wait to see him in action again in the Snyder Cut next month as opposed to the wimpy, soft version we saw in the theatrical cut of JL.
I've customized several of Jakk's Big Figs using many of these same techniques. You did an amazing job. It looks really good.

WOW! I just caught this. I don't have any of the large scale Batman figures, and I had seen Cosplay Chris' vids, but it was seeing your's, and the wonderful cape you did (Love the process of that!) that makes me wanna make one of these! I literally said "Wow!" out loud when you cut to the finished figure! Amazing work! Thanks for this one!
I’ve customized the 19’and 31 inch. Awesome detail in the figure. The only issue I’ve had is the pleather cape not sticking to the 31 inch figure. I used a q tip to crest the shadow on the face. I’ve also done the 19 inch Superman. And while the face take more work. You just have to take your time and use photo references. But it does look exactly like Cavill when you’re done
I agree totally with your assessment of Ben Afflecks Batman. I’m looking forward to Pattinsons Batman but I want more Batfleck! BTW great customs!

This was really good but you should have glued a little weight inside of it to make it feel more premium
I kinda thought about making a stand and mounting it, but for where it sits on my shelf, there wouldn't be room. Some added weight would've been a good idea tho.

I'd like to maybe do another one with the white slits, but for this one, I was trying to keep the movie look.
But since you brought it up, man, I would love to see a completely comic-accurate Batman suit in a movie - they could do something with the eyes similar to what was done with Deadpool. That'd be rad.

Hi!, im looking for a customize Batman v Superman (Batman) mattel figure, because i dont know how to take his plastic cape, maybe you cant help me out with any tip?
If you're trying to remove the cape, I would say to lightly try to pry it away from the body, and if the glue won't let go, use a q-tip with acetone to dab at the glue to dissolve the bond. That combined with a razor knife edge to cut it away.
I've used a combination of those in the past, and it's worked well. Just remember to BE CAREFUL.

I can't say I know specifically what it is, but it's a type of like stretchy, pleather material used for cosplay. My wife picked it up at JoAnn Fabrics.

I did one myself back then which looked similar to yours hehe after 2 years now, I started 3 of those at the same time. Your tip with gluing the head made the figure back then look soo much better, I will keep that for those 3 ✌🏼 thanks for this video
The final result was amazing! But you could spent some more time on the skin, adding more details, trying to make more of a lifelike effect on it.. there are a lot of UA-cam videos for that! Even in Sideshow's channel! Were they show how to achieve a cool loking skin color 👍🏻 Great work man!

And ya know, it's funny, with almost every new customization project I've done, I've tried out and learned something new that I hadn't known before, and I've really been wanting to explore some different options to make skin look better and more realistic - so I'll definitely look into some options and tutorials to try out in the future.

I usually try different materials for weathering - I have long used it mixed into shoe polish to make a thin slurry (it really sticks into larger creases and crevices even better), but this actually was a happy accident. I dropped a bit onto the gray and when I blew it off, some stuck behind and I just liked how it looked, so I decided to apply it all over.
@@JustJoshinAround all right very cool, so you think i can use a transparent shoe polish in first time? not black
@@orionsteam9814 I suppose that depends more on the application, like are you just wanting the clear shoe polish to act as a bonding agent for the graphite, for instance? What I've found (and always use) is that the Kiwi liquid shoe polish in either black or brown (mostly black) works really well to get into all the recessed areas, then wipe away the excess (or scrub away with a scour sponge soaked in hot water).
If you're just getting into this whole little weird hobby (hahaha), I would recommend trying it on a cheap toy first and experiment with different methods, thicknesses/strengths off whatever you're using.
Another thing to try (which is less messy and meant for individually smaller applications) is Tamiya Panel Liner.

Thanks! Yeah I was definitely inspired by Chris's stellar work. I believe this one is considered the 19"-20" series (some retailers list it 19" and some say 20").

I loved the movie and I wasn’t nervous about Ben becoming Batman cause he did daredevil and that helped prove to me that he could handle a superhero movie I’m not one of the people who will say the ultimate edition is better cause to me it’s not cause it added is parts unnecessary details like naming the cia agent Jimmy Olsen and over all making the movie feel like the equivalent to a video game walkthrough cause of all the people who probably didn’t know the dark knight returns storyline before the movie came out and only saw it cause superhero movies are popular and didn’t want to feel left out in discussion about it Ben affleck is my second favorite Batman only toped by Adam west as Batman
I can respect that. Obviously, I love the movie too, but I enjoyed the extended version just as much and more, just for the fact that we got to see more footage in general, let alone that I thought it helped to flesh out some of the plot points a bit better, and detail Lex's schemes. But yeah, I didn't really care about the Jimmy Olsen part and some of the more trivial additions.
I'm really excited to see the Snyder Cut when it comes out too!!
